Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO

Chapter 629: No longer responsible.

Delyth didn't like her. And Zenith feared that seeing her around, she would lose the little patience she might have to talk it out with Ryan.

So, she hesitated.

However, Ryan's gaze remained calm and collected as if he had thought it through before bringing her here. "It's not a bad idea too," he said before finally unbuckling his seatbelt. "But if you are uncomfortable, I can understand. You can wait for me in the car."

Zenith watched him as her reached out to push the door of his side open before stepping out.

He had barely taken a few steps when his steps paused hearing the click from the car. He turned to check, only to find Zenith stepping out it and then walking in his direction.

He didn't say anything, but he looked at her. And she explained, "I don't think I would be uncomfortable. Since you brought me here to accompany, I would come along."

Ryan nodded, and then they walked to take the elevator.

It was one of Ryan's apartments that he has given to Delyth to stay. So, all the accesses he required to enter was already with him.

As they reached the floor, he stepped out to walk to ring the bell of on particular flat. Zenith followed a step after him and stood an inch behind him.

It took a while, but the door was soon pulled open, revealing Delyth on the other side.

"Ryan!" she spoke in delight as if he was some dream come true —the dream that she had been badly expecting to happen for real. "You finally came to see me. I was —"

Her words halted mid-way when her eyes caught the sight of Zenith standing right behind.

"She … what is she doing here?" she asked, her tone at once changing.

Ryan looked behind over his shoulders before turning to glance back at Delyth. His brows furrowing, making his expression appear tighter. "Let's go inside and talk."

After that, he didn't wait for Delyth to accept of refuse. He simply walked in like he owned the place. Well … he did own the place. And he made sure that Delyth get reminded of it as well. '

"Zenith, don't stay there," he said from inside. "Come in."

Zenith stared at Delyth before taking her steps to enter. But just as she would have stepped inside, Delyth blocked her way, glaring down at her.

However, Zenith kept her calm. Staring right in her eyes, she spoke with utter nonchalance. "Ms. Ember, please give me the way inside. I came along with sir, and he is asking me inside."

Then, reaching out she gently pushed her before walking in.

Delyth gritted, but anyway closing the door, she also returned inside.

"Ryan is your secretary, I accept but you can't bring her alone when you are coming here."

Ryan didn't like the sound of it. Looking at Delyth, he coldly asked, "Do I need to ask you before bring my people over?"

"I am staying here, Ryan. You can't make someone intrude my privacy." Delyth snapped.

"Zenith has come with me and would leave along with me. Given we aren't planning to stay for long, I don't think there is anything to intrude your privacy."

"You —" Delyth glared at the other woman, trying her best to calm the urge of pushing her out of the house the very instant. "What did you come here for, Ryan? Don't tell me it's about the immigration again."

She already said that she wouldn't be leaving. And there is no way she would let Ryan force her.

Ryan watched her as if he could see through her thoughts. His lips soon curled up in faint smile before he shook his head. "No, it's not about that, Delyth," he said, adding, "And to be more exact, I no longer would be forcing you to immigrate. Whether you have to leave or not —it would be fairly up to you."

Delyth was dumbfounded for a moment. It took her some time to process but she was able to do it just in time.

Her eyes sparkled and she took a step forward to hold his hands. "Really, Ryan? Are you really saying that to me? I mean, you won't send me anymore."

He nodded, his expression calm, composed —intending to mean every word he said. "I meant what I said, Delyth. I am no longer going to force you. Whether you have to leave or not —is all up to you."

"I am not leaving, Ryan," she said immediately. "I won't leave. How can I leave when —"

Before she could finish, Ryan pulled his hand off her hold and took a step back. "Okay," he said, nodding. "Since that's what you have decided, I have no issue. I will cancel all the arrangements that I have made abroad for you."

He then turned and gave Zenith a cue. In response to which, she took her tablet out.

Delyth glanced and smirked. She never knew it would be so easy and effortless.

"It's cancelled, sir," Zenith reported, and Ryan nodded to her before returning his gaze back at Delyth.

"It's done, as I said. Now, you can go ahead and arrange things for yourself." And saying that, he was ready to leave with Zenith in tow.

However, Delyth sensed something was not right.

Just when Ryan would have walked past her, she held his arms, stopping him.

"What do you mean by that, Ryan?"

"I meant exactly what I said, Delyth. You are free to do as you like —how you like. I won't force you —not anymore. And …" he paused, his expression turning hard and serious. "I am no longer going to be responsible for you. Our contact ends here, along with all the arrangements that I promised Zeke."

Her face turned pale as the meaning behind his words slowly settled in the air.

If Ryan no longer stays responsible for her, doesn't that mean she would be left with nothing?

No, this was not what she wanted.
