"So, this is Jia Nan City..."

Standing atop the griffon of Jia Nan Academy, Mo Yu surveyed the sprawling city below, unable to take it all in at once, and murmured softly to himself.

"Um, junior brother Mo Yu, we'll be dropping you off with Deputy Dean Hu Qian at the Outer Academy. He'll arrange for your assessment into the Inner Academy," one of the Law Enforcement Unit members turned around and said with a smile.

"Thank you, seniors." Mo Yu nodded, smiling appreciatively.

"No need, no need," the young man quickly waved his hands, admiring Mo Yu's courage, regardless of whether he could actually enter the Inner Academy.

Casting Mo Yu a complicated glance, the young man blew a whistle, prompting the griffon to let out a low roar as it descended rapidly toward the vast city below.

Inside a quiet meeting room filled with bookshelves in Jia Nan City.

Seven or eight elderly figures sat around a round table. Their presence hinted at strength and status far beyond the ordinary, for few were qualified to sit in a room where decisions affecting the academy were made.

Opposite them, Mo Yu stood calmly, observing the high-ranking members who oversaw all affairs of the Outer Academy.

"It's your first time at Jia Nan Academy, so you may not recognize us. I am Hu Qian, the Deputy Dean of the Outer Academy."

"I've read Huo De's letter. Besides the selection tournament, there is indeed another way to enter the Inner Academy—by challenging a student on the Strong List. However, no newcomer has ever successfully challenged their way in since the founding of Jia Nan Academy. Are you sure you want to proceed with this assessment?" The elder with white hair and beard asked.

"Yes." Mo Yu responded calmly, his face serene.

"Uh..." Mo Yu's reaction left the elders looking at each other in surprise before they broke into helpless smiles.

Usually, they were the ones who maintained a cold demeanor with students. When had a student ever dared to treat them so indifferently?

Hu Qian's cloudy eyes lingered on Mo Yu, a flash of curiosity passing through them. "I reviewed your file. You're from Wu Tan City in the Jia Ma Empire. A few days ago, a young man named Xiao Yan from there reported in. He's your cousin, right?"

"He's very gifted; within days of arriving, he won first place in the selection tournament and broke records in the Fire Energy Hunting Competition. But even he likely couldn't best someone on the Strong List. Perhaps you don't yet understand the academy's structure—Inner Academy Strong List members are at least Dou Ling level. I'll give you a chance to reconsider."

"No need, please arrange the assessment." Mo Yu shook his head.

Seeing his determination, one gray-robed elder burst into laughter and looked at Hu Qian. "Let him try; it's been a while since the Inner Academy had such a stir. Maybe he'll surprise us."

As the gray-robed elder spoke, Hu Qian recalled some information on Mo Yu and Xiao Yan.

Jia Nan Academy's records documented the fierce battle between the Xiao Clan and the Yun Lan Sect, with Yun Lan suffering significant losses. The main culprits? Mo Yu, standing before him, and Xiao Yan, who had recently made a splash in the Outer Academy.

With this in mind, Hu Qian's eyes held a glint of intrigue as he looked at Mo Yu. "Very well, I'll inform the Inner Academy high-ups to organize your assessment."

"However, it's late. I'll personally escort you to the Inner Academy tomorrow. Tonight, stay with your mentor."

"Thank you, Deputy Dean," Mo Yu bowed respectfully to the elder.

After a polite farewell, Mo Yu left the room.

Upon exiting, he saw a graceful, mature woman with a warm smile, standing at the doorway.

"Intructor Ruo Lin, it's good to see you," Mo Yu greeted her with a smile.

"Still remember that I'm your mentor?" she teased, shooting him a sidelong glance.

"Haha, seems like my cousin Xiao Yan hasn't made up for his mischief yet. That kid—I'll make sure he properly apologizes when I see him."

"Let's stick to your own matters, shall we?" Instructor Ruo Lin narrowed her eyes playfully, but a hint of amusement softened her tone.

"Come along, then. Deputy Dean has informed me of your situation. Just when I thought Xiao Yan's surprises were enough, you appear and raise the bar." She led him down a path shaded by lush greenery, guiding him to a charming, serene residence.

Inside, Ruo Lin poured Mo Yu a cup of water, casting a look over his slightly more mature and refined features. After a sigh, she said, "It seems granting you and Xiao Yan a two-year leave was the right choice. You were a bit stronger than Xiao Yan back then, and now that he's claimed first in the Outer Academy and entered the Inner Academy, I assume your strength is equally remarkable. Do you truly believe you can best a Strong List student?"

Mo Yu merely smiled and nodded.

Seeing his calm confidence, Ruo Lin found herself inclined to believe him.

"Alright, you can stay here tonight. This is my residence. Normally, Xun Er and Yu Er also stay here, but Yu Er's power grew quickly after returning from her family, and she advanced to the Inner Academy within a year."

As she spoke, Ruo Lin's gaze subtly drifted to Mo Yu, as if considering Xiao Yu's sudden rise in strength over the last two years. It likely had less to do with the Xiao Clan or Jia Nan Academy and more with her fiancé, Mo Yu.

Feigning ignorance, Mo Yu replied, "In that case, I should visit the Inner Academy to see my fiancée."

"Get a good rest here tonight," Ruo Lin waved him off, a hint of irritation on her brow, realizing she'd gleaned no useful information from him.

Mo Yu nodded with a faint smile.

The next morning, Mo Yu woke early to find Deputy Dean Hu Qian waiting at the door.

"You're up. The Inner Academy has arranged your assessment; we can depart whenever you're ready."

"Thank you, Deputy Dean." Mo Yu nodded.

Hu Qian waved to the griffon hovering in the air. Its shadow loomed, landing gracefully nearby with gusts of wind from its wings.

"The Inner Academy is quite far. Since you can't yet use Dou Qi to manifest wings, take the griffon."

"Understood."

With a flash, Mo Yu leapt onto the griffon's back, standing firm amidst the creature's sleek feathers, his stance as steady as a rock.

Hu Qian nodded in approval and then soared into the sky, his shoulder vibrating as four radiant Dou Qi wings extended from his back.

As they traveled, the Inner Academy quickly erupted with rumors.

"Did you hear? An Outer Academy newbie missed the selection tournament and intends to challenge a Strong List expert to gain entry!" exclaimed one tall student.

"What? I remember there's a rule allowing Outer Academy students to enter by challenging a Strong List member, but it hasn't happened in years. No one has succeeded in over a decade," said another dark-skinned student.

"Who is this brave soul?"

"His name's Mo Yu. Apparently, he took a two-year leave of absence."

"Mo Yu? Sounds familiar...oh, isn't that the guy Xiao Yu from the Xiao Clan is engaged to? Bai Cheng from the White Gang had his eye on her, and he threatened Mo Yu. He might not step in, but there are plenty of White Gang Strong List members who can 'teach him a lesson.'"

As the rumors spread, the entire Inner Academy buzzed with excitement.

In the Inner Academy, at the Pan Gate.

As one of the newly formed forces, Pan Gate had quickly gained a reputation despite its recent establishment.

Inside its hall sat a young man and woman. The man wore a black robe, his features refined, with black eyes shining like stars. The woman was stunning, dressed in a pale green dress, her figure graceful, accentuated by a purple sash around her waist.

"Brother Xiao Yan, did you hear? Cousin Mo Yu is on his way." The girl's sweet, ethereal voice broke the silence in the hall.

"What? Cousin Mo Yu is coming!" The black-robed youth, who had been dozing off, instantly perked up, his face lighting up with joy.

"To avoid the Hall of Souls's pursuit, Cousin Mo Yu and I decided to enter Jia Nan Academy separately. It's been so long without any news of him, and now he's finally arrived," Xiao Yan laughed, his right hand slamming down on the table as excitement sparkled in his eyes.

But as his joy settled, Xiao Yan's smile gradually faded, and he furrowed his brow, muttering, "But the Inner Academy's selection trials are over. If so, Cousin Mo Yu will have to stay in the Outer Academy for a year, which makes it harder for us to meet."

Hearing Xiao Yan mention the Hall of Souls, Xun Er's delicate brows furrowed slightly before relaxing. She playfully chided him, "Brother Xiao Yan, you created Pan's Gate, yet you're always so hands-off, leaving me to handle everything.

"A challenge to a Strong List student?" Xiao Yan was briefly stunned before he nodded with a grin. "In that case, we'll be able to see Cousin Mo Yu soon."

Seeing Xiao Yan's confidence, Xun Er smiled softly, her mind recalling the handsome face of Cousin Mo Yu. Indeed, he had never let anyone down.

"Where is Cousin Mo Yu's match taking place?" Xiao Yan asked.

"It should be at the Central Plaza. I heard that a lot of people are gathering to watch."

"Oh, we should hurry then. If we're late, he might finish the fight before we get there."

"But… what about Pan's Gate's affairs?"

"Leave it! Get all of Pan's Gate to come cheer for Cousin Mo Yu!"

She was tall, her skin as fair as snow, with delicate features and long, rare silver hair cascading down to her waist. Her silver dress and hair exuded a cold, distant aura, giving her an untouchable, statuesque beauty.

Facing her was another stunning young woman. This one wore the Academy's light purple robe and carried an aura of mature elegance. With each step, her slender, smooth legs wrapped in the robe's pants revealed a subtly seductive charm.

"Yu'er, congratulations on breaking through to Six-Star Da Dou Shi. Now, within the Moon Spirit, only a few elders surpass you in strength, and you've only been in the Inner Academy for a year. Your talent and beauty have captured the hearts of many male students," the silver-robed woman said with a faint, icy smile.

"Thank you for the praise, Leader. I'm nothing compared to your beauty. As for my talent, if it weren't for…" Her words trailed off, a trace of nostalgia flickering in her eyes as she thought of someone special who had once helped her. Without them, she might still be stuck in the Outer Academy.

Seeing her distraction, the silver-robed woman raised her brows slightly before continuing with a knowing smile, "I actually had another piece of good news to share with you besides congratulating you, but if Yu'er is this melancholy, perhaps I shouldn't mention it."

"Leader, you jest. I'm not unhappy, just lost in thought." With a graceful step, Yu'er moved to the Leader's side, a smile returning to her face.

"Aren't you curious about the good news?" The Moon Spirit Leader, known for her cold demeanor, now looked at her with a mischievous glint.

"What is it?" Yu'er asked, sounding mildly curious.

"We just received word… your fiancé has arrived in the Inner Academy."

"What!?" Yu'er was momentarily stunned. Realization dawned on her as an image of his face, one that had haunted her dreams, surfaced in her mind. Her fair hand slowly covered her lips as her beautiful eyes shimmered with unshed tears.

With the news of the Outer Academy student challenging the Strong List spreading quickly, various Inner Academy factions began to take notice. Many were curious about this new student who dared to challenge a Strong List member.

The Central Plaza, the Inner Academy's largest arena, was usually closed to outsiders, only opening for official Academy events. But today, it was filled with a lively crowd because the Academy's upper ranks had scheduled the challenge here.

Even though the plaza was enormous, it was packed with a sea of people. The noise of the bustling crowd spread in all directions, eventually rising into a roar that shook the skies.

As Mo Yu was led into the plaza by Hu Gan, he was momentarily stunned by the sight. But then, a slight smile played on his lips.

"Inner Academy, I'm here…"
