Chapter 11: Snippet-1: Naruto Fugaku SI FanFic:- Chapter 4
4. Training Itachi and Shisui.
│1st Person POV of Uchiha Fugaku│
[The Land of Fire, Village Hidden in the Leaf (Konohagakure), Uchiha Clan Compound...]
Once the Clan Meeting concluded, I directed most of the veteran Uchiha Shinobi to assist the village in its rescue operations, ensuring their skills were put to use where they were most needed.
Meanwhile, the remaining young and inexperienced Shinobi remained within the Clan Compound, dedicating their efforts to clearing debris and restoring order. They were also tasked with providing support to the Uchiha civilians, ensuring aid and assistance to those in need.
In addition, I entrusted a select group of trusted subordinates with the delicate task of discreetly circulating a rumor that the Uchiha Clan was sponsoring a program to support retired and Civilian Shinobis of the village.
This plan was implemented to not only slowly increase the Clan's reputation and cultivate goodwill towards us, but also to not let the Elders twist the narrative in their own way and slender us.
I instructed my subordinates to handle this with the utmost care, ensuring the rumor spread naturally without attracting the attention of the ANBU or Root Shinobi.
With some time remaining before nightfall, I chose to use it wisely by training Itachi and Shisui.
Both Itachi and Shisui are true capital 'G' Geniuses, and if elements like the Six Paths Chakra or Hashirama Cells didn't exist in this world, they would undoubtedly stand alongside Minato as the absolute pinnacle of talent and ability.
Yet, Shisui had already started showing signs of wrinkles on his face despite being a ten-year-old kid. And it won't be long before the same happens to Itachi if things happen as they did in Canon.
No child should bear such immense pressure that it causes them to age prematurely, especially in their teenage years. It's my responsibility to make sure they can experience their youth, at least to some extent, without being weighed down by constant strain.
Then there's the matter of Itachi's terminal illness in Canon. I don't know whether it was something he had from birth, which worsened over time due to stress and the strain on his body, or if it was an ailment he somehow contracted later in life.
As soon as Tsunade returns, I'll have her conduct a thorough examination of Itachi. Until then, I need to ensure he doesn't push himself too hard while training.
Anyway, I, along with Itachi and Shisui, stood at the lake in the Uchiha Clan Compound.
To begin their training, I instructed them to perform a series of foundational exercises to assess their current skill levels. These included the traditional Uchiha Taijutsu katas, which were essential to learning the Uchiha Interceptor Style, as well as chakra control exercises like the Leaf Sticking technique, Tree Walking, and Water Walking.
"So, both of you have a good foundation in Taijutsu and excellent Chakra Control. Especially you, Itachi. I didn't expect you to have already mastered Tree Climbing and Water Walking Techniques." I praised them without holding back.
I then pulled out a couple of Chakra Papers and handed one to each of them. "Before we move forward, let's check your Chakra Affinity," I said.
Shisui hesitated, refusing to take the paper, and said, "Fugaku-sama, I already know my Chakra Affinities."
"It's fine. It doesn't hurt to check again," I replied, silently urging him to indulge me.
Reluctantly, Shisui accepted the Chakra Paper, while Itachi, always more compliant, immediately took his own without protest.
I then instructed them to channel their chakra into the papers. As soon as Shisui did, his Chakra Paper immediately split in two—one part ignited and turned to ash, while the other crinkled and withered. In contrast, Itachi's paper burned away entirely, turning to ash without any additional reaction.
"Shisui's affinities are Fire, Wind, and Lightning while Itachi has Fire Affinity." I declared upon seeing the result.
Although Itachi didn't have any reaction to this, I can see from the minute twitch of his eyebrow that he was somewhat disappointed with his Chakra Paper's response.
If this had happened before I awakened the memories of my previous life, I might have noticed the signs but wouldn't have done anything to address them. However, things are different now.
"Itachi, you don't have to be disappointed. Chakra Affinity doesn't determine that you will only be able to learn Fire Release Ninjutsu. Your Fire Chakra Affinity tells you that you will have a much easier time mastering Fire Release Ninjutsu while having some difficulty learning other elemental Ninjutsu.
"Moreover, this limitation can be overcome through training. While it may take years of effort, with hard work, talent, and dedication, I'm confident that both of you have the potential to master all five elements in the future.
"You should know that the First, Second, and Third Hokage, along with Orochimaru-san and the Second Tsuchikage, are among the rare few in the world who have mastered all five basic elemental nature transformations."
Itachi nodded and said with a determined expression, "I understand, Father. I will work hard to master all five nature transformations."
Hearing this, I nodded before warning him, "Good! But remember not to push yourself too much. Taking plenty of rest is also important for a Shinobi."
I then began teaching both of them the techniques and methods for training in Chakra Nature Transformations.
Having been a Chunin for over a year, Shisui had already begun working on his Fire Affinity and was well on his way to mastering it. After providing guidance on how to train in Wind and Lightning Chakra, I left him to continue his practice on his own. Meanwhile, I turned my focus to assisting Itachi with his Fire Chakra training.
Time passed by and before long, it was already time for the sun to set. I stopped the training at this point.
Through the course of a few hours of training, I got to know Shisui and Itachi's monstrous talent better. What would take an average Shinobi decades of practice, both of them could master in a few years.
I'm confident that within a year or two, Shisui will have developed skills on par with a Jonin. As for Itachi, by the time he finishes his first year at the Ninja Academy, his abilities will already surpass most Chunins. The only thing he will be lacking is battle experience.
"Good! You both have made progress. Now, take a break. No more training or Shinobi duties unless absolutely necessary. Don't waste your time overthinking the future or worrying about things that aren't urgent.
"Our ancestors created this village so that children could grow up without constantly fearing the next battle. Despite your skills, you're still just kids.
"Live by the original Will of Fire. The leaves represent the Wood Release of the Senju Clan, while the fire symbolizes the Uchiha's flames. As the leaves fall, the fire lifts them one last time, allowing the older ones to make way for the younger ones, ensuring they live longer and stronger.
"During the Warring States period, anyone who lived to be 30 or older was considered a legend. Children as young as you often perished on the battlefield. Things have improved, and I believe they will continue to get better.
"The era of peace will grow longer, and wars will become shorter. But both are two sides of the same coin, meaning war will always be a reality. Our focus should be on strengthening ourselves because, in the end, only strength can protect our families and village during difficult times.
"Your goal should be to 'Live for the Village,' not 'Die for the Village,' the very village our Uchiha Clan helped build with the Senju. Do you understand?"
Both of them wore thoughtful expressions as they processed my words. After a brief pause, Shisui, his face marked by hesitation, asked, "Are wars truly unavoidable, Fugaku-sama?"
"Absolutely," I replied with certainty. "Wars aren't driven by hatred alone. The lives of families matter far more than any personal vendettas. It's about greed, desperation, and the struggle for resources.
"The Uzumaki Clan never waged war on anyone. If they had chosen to, even the combined strength of the Senju and Uchiha clans wouldn't have been enough to defeat them—unless there were another Hashirama and Madara. They could have sealed and harnessed the power of all the bijuus if they wished. But they were pacifists.
"Moreover, when Hashirama Senju distributed the bijuus, a foolish decision in my opinion, he should have at least given the 8-tails or 7-tails to the Uzumaki Clan. That way, they would have some measure of deterrent against the Five Major Villages.
"Being a pacifist in this world is a dangerous stance for us and our loved ones. Konoha holds the most resource-rich land, and every other village will continue to covet it until we have someone as powerful as Senju Hashirama or Uchiha Madara leading us.
"Minato had the potential to reach that level of strength if only he had lived a few more years. But now, he's gone. If you truly want to avoid war and protect your family, you must have unmatched strength, the kind that no village would dare challenge.
"I believe both of you have the potential to rise to that level, and I even hope that one of you might become the Sixth Hokage. To achieve this, you must stay focused and vigilant, ensuring that no one takes advantage of you.
"Question everything you encounter—whether it's the actions of the Hokage, myself, or anyone else. Skilled ninjas often fall due to their own naivety. Do you understand?"
Both of them nodded with a thoughtful expression. Seeing this, I was satisfied and ended the training session.
Next, I have to get ready for the meeting.

│3rd Person POV │
[The Land of Fire, Village Hidden in the Leaf (Konohagakure), Hokage Office...]
As everyone settled in their place, the Third Hokage, seated in the Hokage's Chair, signaled for the meeting to begin, "Let's get this meeting underway. Shikaku, how are the rescue efforts progressing?"
The room fell silent as Nara Shikaku, the head of the Nara Clan, prepared to report on the ongoing efforts to assist those affected by the Kyuubi Attack.
Shikaku, ever the calm and composed strategist, adjusted himself in his seat before responding, "The rescue effort has been largely successful, Hokage-sama," he began, his voice steady and confident. "Most of the injured have been safely brought to the medical tents, and our medics are working efficiently to stabilize those who require immediate care.
He continued after pausing for a moment to catch his breath, "With the Inuzuka and Akimichi Clans' tracking abilities and the Hyuga providing invaluable support with their Byakugan, our Shinobi were able to successfully locate all those who were trapped in the debris.
"Additionally, I already sent the infrastructure damage report to you earlier, I believe we can now start the rebuilding effort."
The Third Hokage nodded thoughtfully, clearly relieved by Shikaku's report. "That's excellent news, Shikaku."
Shikaku gave a small nod of acknowledgment.
Then, the Third Hokage reached into a folder and retrieved a detailed map of the village, carefully unfolding it and spreading it out on the large table at the center of the room. The map, marked with colored annotations and notes, displayed the full extent of the recent damage.
His expression grew serious as he leaned forward, his fingers gliding over specific sections of the map as he began outlining the reconstruction plan, identifying the areas that would be rebuilt as they were, and addressing the relocation of certain clans.
These relocations, he explained, would accommodate requests previously submitted to the Hokage's office, ensuring the new arrangements aligned with the specific needs and preferences of the affected clans.
At this moment, Fugaku subtly strengthened his posture, waiting for the moment when Hiruzen would bring up the topic of relocating the Uchiha Clan to the outskirts.
However, against all expectations, Hiruzen never mentioned anything about the need to relocate the Uchiha Clan.
After thinking for a moment, Fugaku figured out that like always, Hiruzen decided to take a step back in order to not escalate tension between the Uchiha Clan and the Village.
'Is this the reason Danzo isn't present now?' Fugaku couldn't help but wonder.
It wasn't long before the Third Hokage concluded his explanation of the reconstruction plan. With unanimous agreement from everyone in the room, the plan was officially approved and set into motion.
"Before we conclude the meeting, does anyone have anything to say?" Hiruzen asked while looking at everyone.
At this moment, Fugaku spoke up, "Hokage-sama, can I be blunt?"
Hiruzen was momentarily taken aback by the question, his expression reflecting surprise. He met Fugaku's gaze, holding it for a brief moment before nodding and responding with a single, decisive word, "Yes."
"Hokage-sama, after the meeting at dawn, I thought about the incident and I believe that the probability of an insider helping the assailant is really high. After all, Kushina's delivery was in a highly secured location, even Mikoto didn't know where it was.
"Without the help of an insider, it was almost possible for the assailant to infiltrate Konoha without alerting the Barrier Corps, locate Kushina during her weakest moment, bypass Minato, and extract the Kyuubi from her.
"And the one I am most suspicious of is none other than Danzo. Why is he allowed to have an independent ANBU department under him? As far as I know, even the Hokage doesn't have full authority over the Root Shinobi unless you disband the organization.
"Not to mention his bizarre action of sending Orochimaru-san out of the village during such a crucial period.
"Therefore, I request you to launch an investigation on Danzo, to truly determine whether he was involved in this incident or not."
Silence enveloped the Hokage Office after Fugaku finished speaking. Nobody expected the Uchiha Clan Head to take such an action. The atmosphere was abnormally tense as all the Clan Heads kept a neutral look on their face.
Finally, Hiruzen spoke up and asked, "Fugaku, do you suspect me too?"
Hearing this, Fugaku looked genuinely shocked. It was as if he couldn't comprehend from which angle this question came from. Regaining his composure, he asked without answering, "What prompted you to ask such a question, Hokage-sama?"
"Because I was one of the few people who knew Kushina's delivery location. Additionally, it is through my permission that Danzo is able to have an independent ANBU department like the Root under him. So, I am asking, do you suspect me too?"
"No, I don't," Fugaku replied without hesitation this time. "You couldn't have been involved in this matter, as your own wife was present to assist Kushina during the delivery."
The Third Hokage and the Uchiha Clan Head looked at each other silently for a few moments before Hiruzen let out a sigh and broke the tense atmosphere.
Sigh—!!
"Alright. I have already sent a message to Jiraiya to bring back Tsunade. I will let her deal with the investigations."
Fugaku wanted to speak but held himself back, choosing to remain silent. He understood that pressing further at this moment would be unwise.
Observing the room, he noticed that most of those present no longer regarded him with the same skepticism as before—a promising sign. There was no need to be greedy and jeopardize things.
"Alright, let's conclude the meeting here," the Hokage announced. As the other clan heads began to leave, he turned his gaze toward Fugaku. "Fugaku, I'd like you to remain for a moment. There's something I wish to discuss with you privately."
