Chapter 232: Changes in the Underground Forces
"What kind of sincerity do you want?"
The voice of the Black Dragon Association president came through the robot's loudspeaker.
"I think the current underground forces are a bit too stable; it would be better if it were more chaotic."
Lin Beichen picked up the teacup in front of him and savored a sip. As he swallowed it, Lin Beichen couldn't help but frown and curse inwardly.
"I really don't know what's so good about this tea, it's not as good as the Monkey King Jasmine I drank when I was a kid."
After about an hour, Lin Beichen finally left the headquarters of the Black Dragon Association.
After Lin Beichen left, the highest secretary-general of the Black Dragon Association entered the innermost room.
"Master, Mr. Lin has left."
"What do you think of him?"
The person referred to as Master sat in the dark boss chair, facing away from the door. Even though his back was to the secretary-general, from the moment he came in until he spoke, he never raised his head.
"I dare not casually evaluate Mr. Lin; I believe Master, you must have your own opinion."
"You are just too cautious."
The person referred to as Master, who is the president of the Black Dragon Association, smiled and shook his head. Facing the boss's evaluation, the secretary-general said nothing. However, he knew very well in his heart that once the boss's evaluation of himself became less cautious, he would be very close to death.
Because others may not know, but the highest secretary-general of the Black Dragon Association knows very well that the Master before him absolutely cannot tolerate a speck of sand.
After leaving the Black Dragon Association headquarters, Lin Beichen didn't rush back to the hotel. Instead, he casually greeted Dongchuan Ichiro and found an old-looking restaurant to eat something.
Although Lin Beichen didn't have much feeling about Divine Light cuisine, compared to the dark cuisine of other countries, Divine Light Country's cuisine was considered quite good.
As Lin Beichen sat down, he noticed two people sitting not far from him.
These two people had been keeping a certain distance ever since he left the Black Dragon Association headquarters. It might be a coincidence, but Lin Beichen preferred to believe they were following him.
"They shouldn't be from the Black Dragon Association, after all, they aren't idiots."
Lin Beichen pondered which side these two might be from. He immediately ruled out the Black Dragon Association because if the Black Dragon Association wanted to act against him, they wouldn't have waited until now.
"They must be from the Dongchuan Clan then."
Lin Beichen muttered to himself, but he didn't care. After all, any conspiracy is weak in the face of absolute power.
"Your pork chop rice, charcoal-grilled eel, and iced oolong tea, please enjoy."
After about ten minutes, the set meal he ordered was served. The person serving it was an elderly man who looked to be in his 60s. The old man's face was full of smiles, and through conversation, Lin Beichen learned that this restaurant had been in business for about 100 years.
The elderly man in front of him was the second-generation owner of this restaurant. His mother had started running this small restaurant when she was in her 40s.
"The taste is quite good."
Lin Beichen lightly tasted a bite and found it acceptable, so he gave the elderly woman a thumbs up.
After Lin Beichen's praise, the old woman's face revealed a joyful smile, and she respectfully nodded to Lin Beichen.
"What a race with small manners but no great righteousness."
The service in Divine Light Country is world-famous, but its people lack so-called righteousness. They appear courteous but are actually more selfish than anyone else, belonging to the type who will only bow to you after being beaten painfully.
After finishing the meal, Lin Beichen left the restaurant. He didn't take a cab but walked towards the Tokyo Grand Hotel.
Using a reflective surface nearby, Lin Beichen saw that the people who had been following him were still maintaining a cautious distance behind him.
If anyone claimed these two weren't following him, it would be hard for anyone to believe.
"I should find an opportunity to see who these two are sent by."
Lin Beichen muttered to himself and then swiftly dashed into a nearby alley. There are many narrow lanes in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, which are mostly pathways left between neighboring houses.
The passageway wasn't wide, just enough to let two people barely sidestep each other. Seeing Lin Beichen suddenly disappear, the two men hesitated for a moment, then quickened their pace into the alley.
"How is this possible!"
Entering the alley, the two men realized that they had lost sight of Lin Beichen. They ran a few steps ahead but still couldn't find him.
"I saw him come in here!"
One of the men's faces showed an anxious expression. He kept looking around but couldn't see Lin Beichen anywhere.
"Are you two looking for me?"
Suddenly, Lin Beichen's voice came from behind them.
"If you are looking for me, then please turn around."
The two men turned around quickly and saw Lin Beichen in his sportswear, standing behind them.
Both reached for their waists, where they had short knives tucked behind them.
