Chapter 239: Completely Falling Out
"I say, even if you're just fooling around with losers, isn't it about time to wrap it up?"
Thunder's voice came from behind. Hearing Thunder's words, Gale grinned, showing clear displeasure at his antics.
After all, Lin Beichen and the others never had a high opinion of Divine Light Country, and now that there was an opportunity to trifle with them, it was not something they would pass up easily.
However, Thunder and the rest didn't want to see Gale playing alone. As the saying goes, joy shared is joy doubled. They wanted to join in as well.
"You're right. If I don't hurry up, they might think they're really that strong."
Hearing Thunder's words, Gale immediately took the blame upon himself, thereby preventing Thunder and the others from interfering.
Sitting to the side, Lin Beichen could certainly guess what Gale and the others had in mind, but he had no opinion on such matters and did not interfere.
"You're a damn bastard!"
Thunder looked at Gale's victorious smile, feeling more agitated than ever.
Originally, he had planned to use this opportunity to get involved, but Gale's one sentence, "It's my responsibility," completely shut him out.
Seeing Thunder's dissatisfied expression, Gale felt extremely pleased inside.
"I won't give you the chance to get involved. It's a rare opportunity to deal with these damned scum openly."
Gale muttered to himself while, at that moment, the Divination Master had already arrived before him.
Looking at the Divination Master, Gale's face showed disdain, but his heart became extremely alert.
In their experience, they had never fought enemies of this type, so they couldn't predict their methods. True fear does not come from a powerful enemy, but from the unknown.
Although Gale did not fear the enemy in front of him, he was somewhat cautious due to his lack of understanding.
The Divination Master's face was covered by a black veil, making it impossible to discern their appearance. Even their gender was indiscernible under the loose black robe.
"No matter what, just kill them directly."
Gale muttered to himself, but at this moment, the Divination Master revealed a delicate card in their hand.
This card was unlike regular playing cards; just by its appearance, it was clear that it was not made of ordinary paper but forged from some special metal.
"Are you planning to use this thing for fortune-telling, or are you intending to use it as a weapon?"
Gale maintained a relaxed demeanor, but caution flashed in his heart. After all, against an unfamiliar opponent, caution is always wise.
"This card foretells your impending fate."
A deep voice emanated from beneath the black veil.
"And the fate written on this card is... death!"
As soon as the Divination Master finished speaking, the card in their hand flew towards Gale like a dagger.
Though Gale appeared nonchalant, he had been watching the Divination Master's movements out of the corner of his eye. When the Divination Master threw the card, Gale immediately responded.
A military dagger appeared in Gale's hand. This dagger was made of a special material and its design was Lin Beichen's own creation.
When Wan Guochun played with this dagger, he praised it. With Lin Beichen's permission, the design was produced in small batches and equipped in Wan Guochun's Dragon Army.
Song Xiangdong, not to be outdone, also acquired some for the special action team of the security bureau.
The specially-crafted flying card clinked against the dagger. With a slight flick, Gale deflected the Divination Master's card towards Matsumoto.
The change happened too quickly for Matsumoto to react. All he could do was widen his eyes in disbelief.
Fortunately, Takamiyama reacted promptly, kicking Matsumoto out of harm's way. Even so, Matsumoto felt a hot liquid flowing down his face.
Matsumoto instinctively touched his face. When he saw the bright red blood on his hand, his face turned to fury.
"Sorry about that, though it was intentional."
Gale perfectly embodied the phrase, "I love how you can't beat me and can't kill me."
This infuriating behavior was something only Gale could pull off. If Thunder and the others had intervened, they would have killed the opponents immediately.
Lin Beichen, sitting to the side, was practically asleep. Such battles bored him, but the skirmishes allowed him to gauge the true strength of the two major factions.
