Following the precarious journey of the master and disciple pair over the next two hours as they made their way through the ancient forest of the Verdant Abyss that seemed to be brimming with activity all around them as the constant roars of powerful demon beasts could be heard echoing out, a certain someone who had been locked in battle with demon beast after demon beast without getting any chance to rest along the way was getting rather annoyed about the current situation he found himself in.

This someone being none other than Xuan Hao, who had quickly realized that the master disciple pair was nothing short of a magnet for demon beasts, as any time he killed of one demon beast, another one would show up and rush towards the two of them. Forcing him to intervene before it could swallow the two and the Stardusk Essence in the hands of Huo Fen.

If there was anything to be happy about, it was the fact that he could clearly sense that the strength of the demon beasts he found himself fighting with was clearly decreasing. Having gone from the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm at the start, down to the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm. Indicating to him that Huo Fen and Meng Jie were at the very least moving in the correct direction.

Not that it was that difficult to tell what direction to move inside the Verdant Abyss, as there was always a slight incline leading upwards or downwards depending on whether one was moving further down into the abyss or out of the abyss.

The name abyss didn't seem that fitting for that kind of slow incline downwards and that was true, the name of the Verdant Abyss mostly stemmed for the core section of the abyss that was far more fitting of the name…

However, just as he felt himself starting to relax with the clear decrease in strength of the demon beasts, he found himself facing, Xuan Hao suddenly found himself being caught completely off guard, as a terrifying roar echoed out from the depths of the Verdant Abyss followed by a terrifying presence crashing into him like a powerful wave. Leaving him staggering backwards for a few meters before he stabilized himself.

"That…! Peak Celestial Immortal Realm? No… Stronger than that…!"

Frowning visibly after trying to ascertain the strength of the demon beast, it didn't take long for him realize that the strength of the demon beast behind the terrifying presence had far surpassed the Peak of the Celestial Immortal Realm.

But… It was not in the Land Creation Realm. Instead, a different realm with a level of power that was in no way inferior to the Land Creation Realm!

Why did such a powerful demon beast suddenly appear all of a sudden!? Could it be that something happened in the core region of the Verdant Abyss? Or perhaps it might have had something to do with me? But… I didn't cause that much damage, and the scope of my battles was relatively limited…

Trying his best to figure out what might have happened, Xuan Hao quickly recalled the battles he had engaged in while protecting the master disciple pair as they made their way out of the ancient forest.

First, he had killed of a Late Stage Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast, then a Middle Stage Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast and then…

In total, I killed 1 Late Stage Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast, 3 Mid Stage and 7 Early Stage, a total of 11 Celestial Immortal Realm demon beasts. The main battle that might have attracted a bit of attention was when I was ganged up on by 1 Mid Stage and 2 Early Stage Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast, but if that was the case, why wasn't there any reaction before now? The reaction only came when… Ah…

Suddenly realizing something, Xuan Hao found himself looking down at the Early Stage Celestial Immortal Realm demon beast he had just killed.

The roar from the depths of the Verdant Abyss had come the second he had killed this demon beast. Meaning… There was a high probability that the demon beast he had just killed was related to the demon beast that had likely reached a realm similar in strength to the Land Creation Realm.

Or… In other words, there was almost certainly a Land Creation level demon beast rushing over towards his current location.

Worse, he couldn't really make use of the Dao of Space to escape from his current situation as he had done in the past when facing the spiritual tree at the Land Creation Realm.

And there was still Huo Fen and his disciple, who wouldn't survive for a second if the demon beast from the depths of the Verdant Abyss ended up passing through this place.

After all, even though the demon beast's target might not be the two of them, he was almost certain that it would kill any human it encountered along the way. Especially so if those two humans were so weak that a mere thought would be more than enough to kill the two of them off.

Knowing this and not planning to waste even a second lingering around the demon beast he had just killed after realizing the danger he found himself in, Xuan Hao turned into a flash of light as he rushed off in the direction of Huo Fen and Meng Jie-

"W-wha-what is happening!?"

However, this time around, instead of wasting any time like he might have done in the past because part of him had also wanted to test out his strength after having broken through to the Middle Stage of the Sea Formation, this time around, he directly scooped up the two of them with his domain before using his full strength to execute the Illusory Light Steps-

Any demon beasts he encountered along the way ended up being promptly ignored, as there was no way for them to do anything to stop him with their strength only having reached the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm.
