Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Discussion
The day passed quickly. By now, Old Kai had completed the ritual, successfully unlocking Caulifla's latent potential.
"Not done yet?" Caulifla asked impatiently, sitting cross-legged on the grass with her chin resting on her hand.
"It's already done!" Old Kai replied, flipping through a comic book lazily.
"Really?" Caulifla shot up to her feet, her expression eager.
"Yes, you're all set!"
"So I'm stronger now?" she asked, her voice laced with excitement.
"Why don't you test it out and see for yourself?" Old Kai suggested with a knowing smile.
"Alright!" Caulifla grinned, clenching her fists.
"But there's one condition," Old Kai added, raising a finger.
"What condition?"
"No transforming into a Super Saiyan," he said firmly.
"Why not?" Caulifla asked, confused.
"Because you've already surpassed the power you had as a Super Saiyan," Old Kai explained. "Transforming won't make you stronger—it might even hold you back."
Caulifla looked skeptical but decided to humor him. Clenching her fists tightly, she concentrated, and an immense wave of energy erupted from her body. The sheer force of her Ki shook the ground beneath her feet.
"Wow… this feels amazing!" she exclaimed, marveling at her newfound strength.
Old Kai nodded, satisfied.
"So, do you want to return to Earth now?" Old Kai asked. "I can have the Supreme Kai take you there."
"Yes, please!" Caulifla said eagerly. "Take me to Goten's house—I want to spar with him!"
"Goten, huh?" Old Kai chuckled. "Very well. Shin, take them back to Earth."
Supreme Kai Shin stepped forward with a nod. "Alright, Caulifla, Kale, place your hands on my back."
The two Saiyan girls complied, and with a flash, they disappeared from the Kaioshin Realm.
In front of Goku's house, the three reappeared.
"This is Goten's home," Supreme Kai Shin said with a smile.
"Thanks!" Caulifla replied before stepping up to the door and knocking loudly.
A moment later, the door opened, revealing Chi-Chi. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she took in Caulifla's bold outfit.
"Who are you?" Chi-Chi asked, her tone suspicious.
"Hi! My name's Caulifla. I'm Goten's friend," Caulifla replied cheerfully.
"Goten's… friend?" Chi-Chi repeated, eyeing her skeptically.
"Yes!"
"And who's she?" Chi-Chi asked, gesturing toward Kale.
"She's my sister, Kale."
Before Chi-Chi could interrogate them further, Supreme Kai Shin spoke up. "If there's nothing else, I'll be heading back now."
"Alright. Thanks, Lord Kai," Caulifla said with a wave.
With that, Supreme Kai Shin teleported away.
Chi-Chi crossed her arms. "So, what exactly is your relationship with Goten?"
"Relationship? There's nothing like that," Caulifla replied quickly. "We're just friends. Barely friends, even. We fought together during the Tournament of Power."
Chi-Chi's tense expression softened. "Oh, I see. I misunderstood."
"I came here to spar with him!" Caulifla declared confidently.
"Spar? You mean fight?" Chi-Chi raised an eyebrow.
"Yes! Is he home?"
"He's probably at the back mountain or over at Trunks' house," Chi-Chi replied.
"Thanks! Let's go, Kale!" Caulifla said, taking to the air.
The two soon arrived at the back mountain, where they spotted Goten meditating on a large rock. Sensing their arrival, Goten slowly opened his eyes and stood.
"Goten!" Caulifla called out, landing nearby.
Goten stepped down from the rock, a small smile on his face. "Caulifla. So, Old Kai helped you unlock your potential?"
"Yes!" Caulifla said, grinning. "That's why I'm here—I want to spar with you. Even though I know I probably won't win, I want to see how big the gap is between us!"
Goten nodded. "Alright."
Caulifla stepped back to create some distance, while Kale moved off to the side to observe.
"Let's get started!" Caulifla said, clenching her fists.
"Whenever you're ready," Goten replied calmly.
Without hesitation, Caulifla charged forward, her movements faster than lightning. She unleashed a flurry of punches, each one aimed at Goten with precision and force.
But Goten barely moved. With effortless ease, he dodged every strike, his body shifting just enough to avoid her attacks.
Frustrated, Caulifla growled and spun, raising her leg for a powerful kick. Goten blocked it with his forearm, the impact creating a small shockwave.
Not giving up, Caulifla retracted her leg and threw another punch with all her strength. But before it could land, Goten stepped back, disappearing in an instant.
"What?!" Caulifla exclaimed, looking around.
"Behind you, Sister!" Kale shouted.
Caulifla whirled around, but it was too late. Goten's kick connected with her back, sending her flying into a nearby mountain. Dust and debris filled the air as her body crashed into the rock face.
"Sister!" Kale cried, rushing forward.
After a moment, Caulifla emerged from the rubble, looking a bit worse for wear but still grinning.
"You can't beat me, Caulifla," Goten said gently. "Maybe we should stop here."
"Stop? Not a chance!" Caulifla replied, her grin widening. "I don't give up that easily!"
Goten sighed but smiled. "Alright, if you insist."
Caulifla let out a roar, her energy flaring around her in a translucent blaze. The ground beneath her cracked under the sheer force of her Ki.
Raising her hands, she fired a barrage of energy blasts at Goten. The explosions rocked the mountain as Goten dodged and deflected each one with ease.
When the smoke cleared, Goten's figure was obscured, leaving Caulifla momentarily unsure of his location.
Before she could react, Goten appeared behind her. In a blur of motion, he delivered a swift kick, sending her flying into another mountain.
The impact shook the ground, raising another cloud of dust and debris.
