Chapter 276: Chapter 276 Headquarters Completed, Black Salted Egg Reassigned
Anton indeed had a long conversation with Z about the letter K.
Z confirmed that he truly didn't have a colleague named K.
Anton could only express his regret.
If this were really Men in Black, K should have been Z subordinate.
And J would be someone K found later.
As for the other letters, Anton was interested in the H played by Thor, and the M played by Valkyrie having these individuals together would certainly be interesting.
Of course, he still didn't know if the Agent Z in front of him was the original Men in Black boss Z.
That really wasn't important, it was just a burst of mischief from Anton as a cross-dimensional traveler.
Soon, the next day arrived.
Under John Kler leadership, Anton, along with his deputy, Agent Z, attended a World Security Council-organized meeting. As the head of the UFO Special Police, also known as Men in Black, he communicated with Thor from Asgard.
The meeting lasted an entire day, and the Earth representatives finally clarified some aspects of Asgard.
Although somewhat disappointed, there were no major regrets.
Asgard power and its status in the universe were certainly far greater than Earth.
Don't be fooled by Odin being an old fellow in his youth, he was definitely a top-tier force in the Marvel universe, with a unique standing and reputation in the cosmos.
Thousands of years later, with Odin having retired to Asgard, there might not be many legends about Odin left in the universe, but his achievements in battle could not be erased.
In short, until Odin died of old age due to relapse of an old injury, he was not someone to provoke.
Better not risk provoking him to fight to the death out of spite.
Such tactics of dragging others down with him are definitely something Odin could pull off.
With Anton reminder, understanding that Asgard still had an undying god-king, Earth became much more reserved and decided to meet Asgard conditions.
Actually, Asgard didn't have many conditions.
Just one: the return of Loki to Asgard for trial.
And on Asgard side, under the concession of the god-king primary heir, Thor, they also smoothly accepted many of Earth demands.
Simply put, it was about mutual exchange, establishing an alliance, and mutual assistance.
The demands were simple but high.
However, the Asgardians didn't think as complexly as Earthlings as the leaders of the Nine Realms, they inherently possessed a certain pride.
In their view, even though Earth wasn't part of their domain, as a neighbor, it was also considered off-limits.
The term might sound exaggerated, but that was the reality.
"No one should sleep soundly by the side of our couch."
As neighbors, Earth absolutely could not be occupied by people from other planets in the universe otherwise, it wouldn't bode well for Asgard.
The alliance strategy proposed by Earth coincidentally overlapped somewhat with Asgard thinking.
After the negotiations, Thor returned to Asgard with Loki.
At this point.
John Kler approached him with an intriguing question.
"Is the Tesseract in Batman possession?"
"No, the Tesseract was destroyed."
Anton responded calmly, without a flinch.
He said, "The New York battle consumed a tremendous amount of energy.
At that time, the energy released by the Tesseract caused a spatial resonance.
Batman had no choice but to find a way to break the Tesseract outer protective layer and, in the end... the Tesseract shattered.
That why the portal disappeared."
"What about the fragments?" Kler asked.
"The fragments are gone," Anton replied. "The Tesseract fragments couldn't be preserved they gradually dissipated."
Kler was silent for a moment, then looked deeply at Anton and nodded,
"Alright, the Tesseract isn't something good anyway. Whether it shattered or not, it best not to cause any more trouble because of it."
"Don't worry," Anton said with confidence. "Mr. Kler, I have no reason to lie to you the Tesseract really is shattered."
As he said, the Tesseract indeed was shattered.
However, it was the Tesseract that shattered, not the Space Stone.
The Tesseract was merely the outer crystal of the Space Stone. Once the Tesseract shattered, it revealed its true nature, the Space Stone.
Now, the Space Stone, along with the Mind Stone embedded in the scepter, are stored far away in the universe, at the Justice League base, the War Fortress.
Of course, there no need to tell the other party about this.
Having the Infinity Stones on Earth would only bring constant disasters it better for Anton to keep them away from Earth.
Not to mention, to unlock the ultimate armor, he would still need the Infinity Stones.
The system condition for exchanging the armor added an additional task for Anton to collect the stones.
But that not a big deal.
After all, if Anton stays on Earth, he would inevitably confront Thanos sooner or later.
Collecting the stones doesn't change the big picture.
Hearing this, Kler didn't say anything more and took his leave.
Anton then returned to New York.
His deputy, the deputy director of the Men in Black, Agent Z, did not leave with him.
Under the arrangements of the World Security Council, there was still a lot of preparatory work to be done at the headquarters of the Men in Black.
Anton had no interest in spending time on such time-consuming tasks, so he left it all to Agent Z to handle.
Truthfully, Anton approach made the American side very reassured.
They thought Anton was indeed a very tactful person, unaware that Anton understood his role better than they did.
The Men in Black organization held little significance in his heart.
Even the World Security Council lacks the energy to deal with the constant crises emerging on Earth.
The Justice League is his foundation.
He would rather inquire about the progress of "Batman vs Superman" than worry about the preparation progress of the Men in Black headquarters.
Half a month later.
The headquarters of the Men in Black was preliminarily completed.
Agent Z, who continued to procrastinate, found Anton and invited him to visit the headquarters.
During this half-month period, Anton never arrived at the headquarters location, and Agent Z even felt that he was the real boss of the Men in Black.
Of course, he wasn't really carried away to that extent.
With Batman and the talented Justice League behind Anton, who in today world would dare underestimate Batman and the Justice League?
The only agency capable of opposing the Justice League, SHIELD, was now essentially exiled.
The World Security Council established the Men in Black and even promoted Anton as the head of the Men in Black, but was it really because they valued Anton abilities?
Impossible.
This was clearly a move by the World Security Council to incorporate Batman and the Justice League symbolically.
It represents a new height of power for the Justice League.
Now, even the U.S. military has to carefully engage in dialogue, fearing to offend them.
However, as a community of shared interests, neither side would create unnecessary issues.
Agent Z is a smart man, knowing that doing his job well without causing trouble would allow him to last longer.
Many years as an agent taught him this early on.
"We have arrived."
Z led Anton to a park near Manhattan, where there was a sealed tower.
Anton vaguely remembered that this tower used to be open to pedestrians and tourists.
"Our base is here," Z said as he walked with Anton into the tower and took an elevator.
The elevator went down.
"An underground base?" Anton was surprised. "When did this place get an underground base? Half a month isn't enough time to manage all this, right?"
"This place used to be a shelter," Z explained. "We searched for a long time and finally decided to rebuild this shelter into the Men in Black base."
Yes, compared to the UFO Special Police, Agent Z also preferred the name Men in Black.
"That good it saves a lot of trouble."
Speaking of the base, Anton suddenly thought of his old adversary. He asked, "Speaking of which, I heard that SHIELD headquarters moved to Europe?"
"Correct, the building in Washington that used to be SHIELD headquarters has been turned into the headquarters for the special forces, and the military is thrilled," Z nodded.
"Additionally, not only did SHIELD headquarters move to Europe, but the former deputy director, Nick Fury, applied to the World Security Council for a transfer and joined another department."
"Oh?" Anton raised an eyebrow, sensing that Fury was up to something. He asked curiously, "Which department?"
"The name is a bit of a mouthful..." Z thought for a moment. "It called something like... the Bureau for Interdimensional Standards and Engagement."
Anton looked puzzled, then muttered to himself, squinting his eyes.
Isn't that just the Sword Bureau?
