Chapter 349: Risky Plan.
Actually, he doesn't think it should be possible for her to spill his secrets because according to the military codex, no one should mention what they experienced on the foreign battlefield to anyone after the expedition.
According to the rule, soldiers can say a few descriptive things, but they are not allowed to say anything specific, or they will be charged with the crime of leaking army secrets.
He should count on this rule, and he would count on it in a normal situation. But this is not a normal situation.
For one, she is a demigod. Secondly, she is a special demigod who is so special that she is one of the few people that can kill a vampire permanently.
If he can be given a pass from the consequences of breaking some rules because he is a paragon, he believes that she can be given some leeway too.
Even if she isn't given a pass and is still punished, as long as she doesn't die, the reward will outweigh the punishment because the reward is for her to become a true god.
There is also the matter of his secrets not being a military matter. Especially, if he told her himself. Surely, the army won't kill a special demigod because he couldn't keep his secrets to himself and she just casually mentioned it somewhere a demigod from Earth-11 happened to be.
Thinking of this made him grumble to himself. "I have so many questions, but none of my own to ask."
Then he shook his head. "Scratch that. I have so many questions, yet I have no one trustworthy to ask."
"Either I start getting some answers or I start trying to use my identity as a paragon to get the answers I want or I start causing trouble or all three."
When he said that, he looked at the mark on his hand. The mark is a tool for coordinating with the army. But that isn't the only thing he has used it for before.
He remembers the time he tried to possess it. It failed, but his actions granted him a direct meeting with the god kings of the Yggdrasil civilization.
He is thinking of doing that again.
He thought to himself after thinking about it for a while, "I'll consider it after the expedition. I know they warned me not to do it again, but I think it will be fine. After all, I am not asking them for help for free. I'll give them something."
Then he chuckled and said, "It is more like I will owe them something. I'll add it to my debt."
He knows that it is risky to bother the god kings, but he has no safer choice. It will be dangerous. to contact them to provide him a source of information for his questions, but he can be certain that at the very least, they are the ones least likely to covet his title, and he can be certain that they are the ones who want him to become a god king as soon as possible.
Despite the danger, he is confident of coming out of the offense alive because of his title as the paragon of Earth-11 and because he already owes the god kings a world. If they kill him, they will have to find another paragon, which will take time, and they will have to forget about the world that he was supposed to give them in 100 years.
He smiled and thought to himself, "If I can't bother the god kings of the Yggdrasil civilization, who can?"
He wouldn't have thought so a few minutes ago, but after his conversation with Dancing Flowers, he now knows the value of being a paragon and can confirm that the god kings of the Yggdrasil civilization will benefit immensely if he becomes one.
He felt proud of himself for thinking about that idea. It made his mood feel better and the dark, windy, and cold world of Umbra feel better.
While he was scouting the surroundings, the primordial vampire had begun to take action in response to the arrival of the Yggdrasil civilization army.
The primordial vampire's name is Crimson Sergil.
Sergil is humanoid. He has two legs and two arms. But he also has a long, muscular tail.
He has a face similar to that of a fish. His jaws can open wide, and his mouth is lined with rows of white serrated teeth.
He has two compound eyes on his head and two antennas on his head. He even has two long and large transparent wings on his back that make him look like a giant fly.
His eyes grant him a wide vision. His vision is so good that he can see infrared light and heat produced by living things. His antenna also helps him sense vibrations and smell the air.
These are features that insects don't have. But his similarities to an insect end there.
His hands have opposable thumbs and are clawed like that of a tiger. But instead of fur on his body, he has black scales.
Those scales are very tough. They are so tough that they can help him withstand the adverse conditions of space.
He can change the color of his scales, and he can even change how he looks. But this is him in his natural state.
He is a young vampire, so he has never had the pleasure of fighting the Yggdrasil civilization.
He is mostly ignorant of what the Yggdrasil civilization is capable of, but he has fought many other civilizations before, invaded many worlds, and also heard of the Yggdrasil civilization from the older vampires. So despite his ignorance, he didn't take the Yggdrasil army lightly.
He didn't attack them when they just arrived despite knowing of their imminent arrival because he didn't underestimate them.
If he had underestimated them and thought nothing of them, he would have taken what force he could gather and attacked them immediately. But he thought highly of them and considered that they would be able to defeat him, so he didn't rush to attack them.
