Chapter 348: Stupidity And Lack Of Motivation.

She replied, "The paragon of this world is a Sky Whale. The Sky Whales are a race of powerful yet docile creatures. There are many demigods among them, but they don't bother about the world. They are more like sheep or cattle who move around the planet grazing and engorging themselves.."

"One of them, which should be the oldest, was favored by the world and became a paragon. This should have happened around the time the Kunut race began building their civilization."

"So this paragon is as old as the Kunut Grace's civilization. Yet, it hasn't bothered to become a god. This is a rare situation caused by stupidity and lack of natural predators."

Kelvin exclaimed, "Wow. Isn't the Kunut civilization nearly 5,000 years old? Why would something be able to become a demigod and not try to become a true god when it has the chance to?"

She shrugged. "Like I said, this situation happens many times. It is mainly because becoming a demigod is not a dangerous matter. Races with enough potential will eventually become demigods after living a very long life."

"Even if they don't do anything and only eat every day, they will still become demigods. But becoming a true god is another matter. It is a life-and-death matter."

"You have to make a conscious decision to become a true god. Once the breakthrough starts, you will sleep. You will only wake up if you succeed. If you fail, you will die in your sleep. The exception is paragons who have certain privileges thanks to the support of the world."

"Paragons will go to sleep. But they can wake up halfway and are in no danger of dying. But even if you are a paragon and have the help of the world, you will still need to sleep. That might be too much of a cost for cattle that spend most of their days eating."

Kelvin shook his head in wonder. "I guess you were right. This is stupidity and a lack of danger to motivate him."

She said, "It is a common thing. In the case of the Sky Whale, becoming a true god won't change anything for it. It is already the strongest on the planet, and the other beings who could threaten it don't bother it at all. What else does it need in life?"

He said, "So it just watched as a whole civilization grew on the surface of the planet, and the civilization became so powerful that they had demigods of their own. Yet it did nothing. I can't believe it."

She chuckled and said, "You better believe it. It is very common. But things might not continue like so anymore. The presence of the primordial vampire should cause some changes. Maybe the Sky Whale will decide to do something when it senses the flare god that the Vampire is building."

Kelvin realized something. His eyes lit up after he understood it. He said, "If the Sky Whale fights the false god and delays it, it might give you the chance to kill the primordial vampire. It might also cause the false god to eliminate or injure the Sky Whale, which will reduce the resistance capability of this world."

Dancing Flowers smiled. "You are correct. But it is best not to rely on that and wait for it. It is best that we find the primordial vampire before it finishes building the false god."

"So scouting is the most important job in this expedition. It is not fighting. That has always been the case with vampires. If we can't find their source, we will never be able to defeat them. The success of this expedition counts on you scouts."

He nodded and said, "I understand."

He spoke some more with her. After a while, she said she had to go.

Her body broke apart into pink petals, which drifted away into the wind. He saw this and realized something else.

He thought to himself, "She might have never been here. That might just have been part of her ability. It should be something similar to my shadows. Is that why she is special and the only one who can kill the primordial vampire permanently?"

His Shadow Clone ability is a divine ability. He still doesn't know what that is and would have liked to ask her, but he doesn't trust her.

At the very least, he needs to be a demigod or have a means to protect himself against one on Earth-11 or be unable to die for him to have less to worry about regarding someone trying to take his title.

That's why he has his eyes set on the abilities of vampires.

He said to himself, "I hope the higher vampires have something that can solve my problem. I should get one myself or get enough merit points to exchange one from the army."

He had his eyes set on a primordial vampire before. But now that he knows that there is only one primordial vampire and that this primordial vampire is a demigod trying to become a god, he had to lower his expectations and even prepare for failure despite lowering his expectations.

He shook his head and continued his mission to scout. He had both Life Domination and Mind Overseer activated in order to find living targets in the dark world.

Things would be easier if he released his clones to help him search, but he doesn't feel that it is safe enough. Now that he has met someone who knows his identity and is conversant with the situation on earth, his matter might be leaked to earth.

Dancing Flower was certainly helpful to him. She helped him learn a few things, one of which is that she is in a hurry to become a true god.

Because of her eagerness to become a true god, she might decide not to wait for him to become a god. She might just help another demigod from Earth-11 become the paragon.
