DESTINY GAMES

Chapter 347: Complications.

Kelvin said in understanding, "So the Kunuts invited two lions into their home."

Then he shook his head and asked, "Can they make a much worse mistake?"

She nodded, "Yes, they can. They can invite a third lion."

That made Kelvin burst out laughing

Kelvin laughed and said, "I guess it is official. This expedition is going to be difficult after all."

She nodded in agreement. "Yes, it is. The top priority for now is to find and kill the primordial vampire permanently. If we do, then every vampire that it has created will die or be severely weakened."

"That is the simple part. The difficult part is making sure that I am the one who killed the primordial vampire, not other commanders in the army and certainly not the demigods of the Kunut race who have become vampires."

He sighed and said, "I guess you're the one who needs to kill the primordial vampire because you're the only one who can kill it permanently. As for the Kunut demigods, they are not allowed to kill it to make sure that they don't become the new primordial vampire."

She said, "I am the only one in this world who can kill the primordial vampire permanently. Not even our false god can manage it. If I succeed, the demigods Kunuts who have become vampires will be weakened. That will make the subsequent part of the expedition easy."

Kelvin sighed out loud when he heard what she said. He said, "I can't believe that such powerful people were fooled twice."

She sighed too. Then she said, "They were fooled the first time because they were desperate to become true gods. They were fooled the second time because they had no choice."

"I can understand their desperation to become true gods. It is a universal phenomenon that even the demigods of the Yggdrasil civilization are not immune from."

"But at least we have a way forward and a path that will guarantee success if taken to the end. We just have to work hard and survive. For example, if I do well during this expedition, I might get enough qualifications to become a true god. But they don't have the option to risk their lives in galactic warfare."

He nodded in agreement. "I guess you're right. Everyone can do anything for power."

She shook her head in disagreement and said, "From what I heard, not everyone is willing to do anything for power. Certainly, not Icon."

That made Kelvin chuckle. He said, "You're right on that one. So most people are willing to do anything for power, not everyone."

She shook her head in wonder and said, "Icon is a fascinating wonder. His actions are reasonable to a certain extent. But only to a certain extent. The rest is just considered foolishness."

Kelvin was surprised again when he heard that. He said, "Is that so? I can't believe that anyone would take Icon's side and call what he did reasonable."

She insisted, "He was indeed reasonable to a limit. He was right not to sacrifice his life and those of his loved ones to sever your planet from Yggdrasil. That was reasonable. But from then on out, what he did was stupid."

Kelvin chuckled in agreement and said, "You're right about that. He could have stopped there. He should have become God king. Even if he didn't want to become God king, he shouldn't have broken the weave of destiny into pieces."

She said, "I have seen and heard of many paragons who passed off the chance to become God king. It is a common thing that usually occurs because those paragons are the strongest in their worlds and don't see the need to grow stronger, or they are stupid, or they are both."

"I can understand stupidity. It can't be helped. Not every race is intelligent. I can also understand the feeling of being at the top of the world and not having any predator to worry about."

"But I cannot understand how Icon could have stood there in front of God kings, seen what true power was like, had his whole world be manipulated by them, had the lives of everyone in his world in the grasp of his hands, and yet, gave up on all that power. It just doesn't make sense however you cut it."

Kelvin agreed. He nodded and said, "Even if he didn't like that power. He should keep a hold of it so that someone else wouldn't have it and use it against him. That much should have been clear when a whole planet was manipulated like that. It should have been clear that without power, one cannot have freedom or control their fate."

She nodded too. "He is an anomaly all right. He is the representation of utter foolishness."

"If you want stupidity, I will point you in the direction of the paragon of this world. This paragon also didn't try to become a true god. But I can understand why."

When Kelvin heard that, he became alert immediately. He couldn't believe what he heard. He asked just to be sure, "There is a paragon in this world?"

She didn't think it was a big deal. She shrugged and said, "Yes. There are usually paragons in high-level worlds like this. As long as there are demigods in a world, there are usually paragons."

He thought to himself, "From what she said, there might have been a paragon in the Lignum world. After all, there were a lot of demigods there. There was even a false god there. I wonder if the god of life is that paragon."

He became curious about the identity of the paragon. Unlike her, he takes something like that seriously. After all, it is because of his identity as a paragon that he was able to gain two abilities and use the core of worlds to move to any place on Earth-11.

He can't acquire more information about this matter relating to the Lignum world, but he can about the Umbra world, so he asked Dancing Flower, "Who is the paragon?"
