Chapter 207: A clap.
"Even after watching and listening to what's going on around the world, especially here, you're still as calm as ever," Elena pointed out as she looked at Helen pouring a coffee into a cup. "I don't know if I should be impressed or think you're just crazy," Elena continued.
"The moment I knew it was the Rebirth Guild who did all this, I didn't even, not even once feel scared. Also, if my time has come, then so be it, but turns out, I'm still here, doing fine," Helen answered and put the coffee on the table. "There isn't much story to tell for me, so let's talk about you instead. What do you want to tell me?" Helen asked and sat across from Elena.
Elena took her time to sip her coffee, and it was a really nice coffee. She didn't know how to say it to Helen, but then she snapped her fingers and created a portal with her life energy.
"It would be easier for you to digest if you come with me into this place," Elena answered as she stood up and held the cup of coffee.
Helen raised her eyebrows and she looked surprised and she hesitated to whether to listen to Elena or reject it. She took her time as Elena kept staring at her, and so she decided to stand up and enter the portal head-on without thinking a single thing.
She was so scared to open her eyes, but the moment the cool breeze hit her face, and the sound of grass and leaves could be heard, she opened her eyes. She had no idea what kind of place it was, and she looked at a massive palace with floating islands in the distance.
"Am I dreaming?" Helen asked with her eyes wide open. "I was sure I didn't put anything weird in my coffee," Helen looked at the coffee in her hand.
"You're not dreaming. This place is our world," Elena answered as she walked past Helen and toward the palace. "Come on, you'll love this place," Elena pointed out.
Helen followed Elena and entered the palace that looked bigger than what she saw from outside. She saw Mykel sitting on the throne, talking with Hera and little Sasha ok his lap.
"What's this place exactly?" Helen asked and looked at Elena with a confused expression.
"A world within a world," Elena answered with a smile and then walked up to the throne to play with little Sasha.
Helen watched Mykel walk down the throne and then tilted his head at the table. She followed him and sat across from him with the cup of coffee that had turned cold.
"You must have been wondering why are you brought here, and that's because Elena doesn't want you to die out there," Mykel said as he poured a glass of wine for himself. "She really likes you, so she's doing this," Mykel added. Discover more stories at empire
"Die? I'm doing fine and I don't think that's something she should be worried about since I don't see myself in danger," Helen asked with her eyebrows furrowed and looking at the wine that smelled really nice.
"It will be different this time," Mykel nodded his head and poured a cup of wine for Helen. "Humankind will perish, and only those who are chosen can survive," Mykel said and gave the cup of wine to Helen.
"Different? You already killed millions of lives, and you're saying there will be more to it?" Helen asked and grabbed the cup.
Mykel looked at Helen for a moment, and then he nodded his head again.
"You saw that we were fighting humans and waged war against them. But soon, the war isn't just with humans, but the Gods as well," Mykel answered as he walked toward Helen and sat on the table in front of her.
"You're going to fight Gods. Looks like the Gods have decided to punish for your sins," Helen chuckled in disbelief as she shook her head.
Mykel nodded his head as he emptied the cup, and then he looked at the first, the second, and the third teams who had done with their task. They realized the war against the Primordials and the Cosmic beings would be the hardest war they were going to experience.
"What's this place, Mykel? Where are we?" Helen asked and looked at the floating island through the window.
"My world, the world inside my novel," Mykel answered and looked Helen in the eye. "The people you see over there are the characters of my novel," Mykel nodded up and looked at Jeanne and the others.
Helen slowly turned around and looked at each one of them, she didn't want to believe it, but Mykel wouldn't lie especially lying about something ridiculous. She then looked at Mykel and then grabbed the whole bottle of wine and drank it whole.
Mykel explained to Helen the truth and how it all happened from the moment he entered the novel world. It didn't take a while because Helen could digest and process everything she heard from Mykel.
"Is that why you're so powerful? You're the omnipotent being inside your own novel, and now you brought everything you have achieved back to Earth," Helen asked and squinted her eyes as she looked at Mykel.
"Exactly, and that's why my existence and these guys' existence are threats," Mykel answered and asked Amaryllis to bring more wine for them.
"I think I have heard enough," Helen said and she started to get tipsy. "You already know the answer right? About whether I would stay here or not," Helen asked as she stood up and looked at Mykel.
Mykel took the bottle of wine from Amaryllis' hand, and then he looked at it. Instead of opening the bottle, he passed the bottle to Helen, and then he nodded his head with understanding.
"You should say your goodbye to Elena. Although she wants you to stay, she's not going to insist and will understand your decision," Mykel said and looked Helen in the eye.
Helen smiled and then wrapped her arms around Mykel's neck and hugged him tightly. Mykel could feel her fast heartbeat, and then suddenly Helen kissed him on the cheek.
"It's a shame that this might be the last time we drink together. But, I'm glad that you found your happiness," Helen said as she slowly removed her arms from Mykel. "Goodbye, Mykel," Helen smiled and then walked toward Elena.
Mykel looked at Elena's sad expression after Helen gave her answer, and so she hugged Helen so tightly. Helen looked at Mykel and waved her hand at him before she entered the portal that Amaryllis had opened.
Elena didn't want to bother Helen again, so she didn't follow her back to the shop. She then approached Mykel and hugged him because she was saddened that the only person she liked other than the ones on the team had decided to leave.
"Four out of Seven Pillars of Earth have been destroyed," Amaryllis reported to Elena. "Luciel and her sisters have defeated the fifth pillar in India. Rozan and Shelly are inside the Egyptian God realm and are currently dealing with the Gods and Amon-Ra. Lastly, Manna and Bhatmelec are in China, dealing with Nuwa," Amaryllis added.
"What's the estimated time until those two teams killed the pillars?" Elena asked as she turned around to look at Amaryllis.
"Four to five hours Earth time, but we still haven't destroyed the last pillar. Who do you want to choose to destroy it?" Amaryllis asked back with her eyebrows raised.
"I will take care of it," Elena answered. "It won't take a while," Elena added as she opened a portal.
Mykel followed Elena and they both were standing in front of the gate. Elena immediately entered without hesitation and Mykel followed her from behind.
When Mykel entered the gate, he was welcomed by Elena's life energy that had been spread out with the speed of light. The whole continent was covered by it, and in there, Mykel could see a floating ark above the giant mountain. That ark was where all the Gods of Native Americans lived and would go down to give blessings to their people.
Elena clapped her hands and suddenly everything that was covered by her life energy had disappeared. Mykel was taken aback when he witnessed what she had just done, and it was indeed terrifying even in his eyes. The Gods weren't even given a chance to fight, but they all had disappeared and were nonexistent.
"Five out of Seven Pillars," Mykel said as he looked at Elena. "How do you feel?" Mykel asked.
"Good," Elena answered and looked at the cracks in the sky.
