Chapter 215: Schemers.
Mykel and Loki walked out of the palace and saw the mess that Nal had made earlier. It was beyond saving because there were so many huge cracks in the ground and almost all of the buildings were on the brink of collapsing. They both weren't bothered by how bad it was because they were bothered by Nal's origin which even Loki didn't know about.
"I didn't know my mother had lived that long..." Loki said as she walked right next to Mykel. "I know that you're interested in her, but why did you prefer to know about her than the real problem that you're facing?" Loki asked as she looked at Mykel.
"I believe she's more valuable than anything right now, and I'm not going to ask for help from my enemy," Mykel answered and looked at the empty pack of cigarettes in his hand. "In the end, what Odin knows isn't enough to cover the whole story of this universe," Mykel added.
Loki hummed and she still got a chill down her spine knowing how mischievous her mother was. Although she knew how terrifying her mother was, the fact there were a few beings that could outmatch her was enough to make her think that she was nothing. She thought she was the most clever and cunning being, but it turned out she couldn't compare herself to those Primordial and Cosmical beings.
"Where are you doing to go now? I don't think you should keep following me," Mykel said as he crumpled the pack of cigarettes and threw it on the ground.
"Am I not allowed?" Loki asked.
"You can do whatever you want, but I don't think there's anything for you to do by staying by my side," Mykel answered as a portal opened in front of him.
"Do you remember what she said? If I don't stay by your side, she would take you away from me. To be honest, I don't want that," Loki said as she looked at Mykel. "If I stayed, I think my mother would visit you knowing I'm with you," Loki added.
"You're right. You can stay by my side," Mykel said and then entered the portal as Loki followed him from behind.
The moment Mykel came back, Elena looked at him from top to bottom with a concerned look. Once she found out he was fine, she stopped checking his body and sat down at the table.
"I sent Amaryllis there, but she couldn't hear anything because something prevented her to hear and she couldn't breach it," Elena asked as she patted on the chair next to her, wanting Mykel to sit next to her.
Mykel sat down and everyone listened to what had happened in that palace. He told them that he gave the information he got about Elena in exchange for information about Nal. They were confused why Mykel would trade that information for a Primordial being until he told them who Nal really was.
"Loki's mother is one of the eight Primordial beings that were created after the Angels and before Lucifer's rebellion? So you're saying they lived millions of years ago?" Amaryllis asked with her eyebrows furrowed.
"The Ginnungagap, one of the forms of the World Egg. A realm before the universe, a place where the big bang took place once the World Egg had produced dozens of Primordial beings. Nal was born a few hundred years after Aurgelmir or Ymir was created from Ginnungagap," Mykel answered as he looked at Amaryllis' hand and offered him a pack of cigarettes.
"The Lord gave them a task, to find a suitable place to create life with the Angels. The Primordial beings are less powerful than the Angels but they were given consciousness and freedom. This Earth before humans or any living beings were created, they had stayed on this planet. The Lord created animals and they were given a task to control those animals," Loki explained as she looked at Amaryllis. "That was when Nal, my mother, decided to destroy the animals using five different methods," Loki added.
"The mass extinction events, five different types of civilization. Now humans are the sixth civilization," Amaryllis said with her eyebrows furrowed. "She did all that on her own? And nobody stopped her?" Amaryllis asked and looked at Mykel and Loki.
"It was quite the opposite. She was just the mastermind and the other Primordial beings were the ones who destroyed them. She manipulated them, convinced them, and gained their trust," Loki answered and explained.
Elena, Amaryllis, Beldathiel, and Lyneth were surprised, but at the same time, they were curious why Nal did that.
"But why?" Amaryllis asked with a confused expression.
"Her reason was simple, she was bored of brainless creatures. She wanted to rule over a being that had consciousness, emotions, desire, and a brain to think. That was when The Lord created the first perfect human, Adam and Eve," Mykel answered as he looked at Amaryllis. "Nal was the reason humans exist. She was the reason why Lucifer and all the fallen angels decided to start a rebellion. She created all those chaos by only using her head. That was why The Lord banished her from Earth," Mykel continued.
That was when they all realized how terrifying Nal actually was, but that wasn't all. Mykel then explained to them about Nal's husband, Farbauti, the one who used the muscle for her scheme. Farbauti was so powerful that Lucifer and all the Archangels believed he was the real threat. Fortunately, Nal was the one who controlled his power, and she knew with him on her side, nobody would dare to stop her.
Farbauti could easily overpower Ymir and other Primordial beings on his peers. Erebus, Nyx's husband was one of the few beings that could match Farbauti's power. But, with Nal on his side, nobody could overpower him even if those few beings worked together to kill him.
"Loki, your parents are amazing, but why it feels like you're nothing like them in both aspects?" Elena asked and looked at Loki. "Your mother is a terrifying schemer, your father is a being that even Lucifer and Archangels are wary of his existence. Why are you like this?" Elena pointed out in disbelief.
"I don't know. I don't know much about them other than the fact she left me behind," Loki answered and she looked confused and sad at the same time.
Elena never thought Loki would act like that, and somehow Loki had been oozing a different aura. Mykel was confused as well at first until he knew what had happened and why she acted like that. A mother's words and affection were enough to turn her child into the person she wanted them to be.
"Well, that's that. Why are you still here?" Elena asked.
"She's here to stay by my side. She's being useful for us because, with her around, Nal would take an interest in me," Mykel answered.
Amaryllis, Elena, and Lyneth were surprised when Mykel used a feminine pronunciation for Loki. He used to look at Loki as a man, but now he changed it as if he had decided that Loki was a woman.
"Three schemers in the same world. They all have the same object, and that's to destroy Earth. Weirdly enough, none of them are working together to achieve that," Beldathiel pointed out as she rested her head on the pillow on the table and looked at them. "What an interesting situation we are in. The question is who will come out as the winner?" Beldathiel added and stared into Mykel's eyes.
"You forgot another one," Mykel paused. "We have Sasha who can become one and she's The Lord's favorite," Mykel continued.
"Right. What a thrilling and exciting situation we are in right now," Beldathiel chuckled and then went to sleep after she heard enough.
"Speaking of her. I can't find her anywhere," Amaryllis said as she looked at the sky. "It feels like she has disappeared as if she doesn't exist," Amaryllis added.
"It's expected since The Lord might want her to prepare for the final battle since it has come to this," Mykel said. "Nobody would be able to find her," Mykel continued.
Everyone was thinking about the situation they were in, and that made Elena more excited because there were more competitors than she thought. The fallen angels and their thousands of legions under Lucifer, the Primordial beings and their peers that could be under Nal, Sasha with The Lord's will, and lastly Mykel with his own creations.
"What about Helen? Did she manage to survive?" Elena asked Amaryllis.
"She died the moment Nyx fought that being," Amaryllis answered as she shook her head.
Elena hummed with understanding as she nodded her head and hid her face by looking down.
