Chapter 216: Nal's true nature.
Nal landed in Friesland and saw nobody alive in that small province of the Netherlands. She could see those people dying not from the impact of the battle, they all died because of a heart attack. Their bodies were still fresh and it looked like they all died from something else.
"You killed your own people. Did they don't believe in you anymore or something?" Nal asked as she waved her right hand and made all the dead bodies disappear.
"No. Someone else killed them, I can smell the traces," Baduhenna answered as she walked toward Nal. "I was following the trace and I noticed they came down here as well," Baduhenna added.
"Figures," Nal nodded her head with understanding as she could sense the traces. "Little imps. But that's what you get for having too many enemies and no ally," Nal said. "So? Are you going to hunt them now?" Nal asked as she looked at Baduhenna and realized her coat of crow's feathers was covered in blood, God's blood.
"I did, I was collecting their heads, or at least pieces of them," Baduhenna answered as she fed the heads to the crows. "I don't need allies since I have you. You're worth more than a thousand allies and a thousand enemies," Baduhenna added and saw the crows flying toward the forest.
Nal summoned the same throne that she brought in Valhalla's palace, and then she sat on it as she stared at the sea. She was silent enjoying the peace and quietness of the area as she waited for Baduhenna to be done with her thing.
"What brings you here," Baduhenna asked as she stood beside Nal.
"Well, let's just say I'm sheltering," Nal answered as she crossed her legs and kept staring at the sea.
Baduhenna furrowed her eyebrows and then she felt dozens of strong presences in the distance. She finally realized what Nal meant by sheltering, and she was using her to deal with those beings that wanted to kill her.
"Next time, please don't bring them here to my sacred place," Baduhenna warned as she pulled her spears from thin air.
"Why not? The land needs heads, right? It's good that they're here so you don't have to travel from one place to another just to bring their heads, it would be a waste of time," Nal pointed out as she looked at Baduhenna with a mischievous smile.
Baduhenna sighed and she couldn't argue with Nal's reasoning, so she immediately created a wall made of crows. She prevented the beings from leaving after they entered her territory, and then the crows started to attack them. Even though they were just crows, they weren't normal crows, they all shared Baduhenna's strength.
Their beaks and claws were enough to hurt the Primordial beings, and the fact there were thousands of them, that made it difficult to deal with all of them. But that didn't last long until the Primordials killed the crows and Baduhenna flew toward them and was ready to kill them all.
"Do you have any idea what you're doing?" A woman with white hair in a red dress holding a round gold shield and a short sword blocked Baduhenna's spears. "We're not here to fight!" she pointed out as she glared at Baduhenna and tried to overpower Baduhenna's strength but she only struggled more the longer she tried.
The ocean was split in half because of the impact of the shield and the spears clashing against each other. The sea was slowly coming back and it became gentle again, and that was when Baduhenna realized something.
Baduhenna furrowed her eyebrows and then realized the other Primordial beings that floated behind that woman weren't trying to attack her. She then turned around and looked at Nal who was laughing as she covered her mouth. She had just realized that she was being played and fooled by Nal.
"Nal. This isn't the first time you have done something like this to me. I don't like that," Baduhenna said as soon as she landed in front of Nal.
"I know, It's a payment for calling for my help when you were fighting Nyx," Nal answered as she chuckled and kept covering her mouth. "I'm not going to do it again, but if you asked for my help again, I might do something like this again in the future," Nal pointed out.
All the Primordial beings landed behind Baduhenna, and then they all walked past her and stood in front of Nal's throne. They all looked at her with intimidating expressions, but none of them dared to do anything to her.
"You decided to come as well? I thought you were all having fun in that place," Nal asked as she crossed her arms and legs. "Especially you, Lada. Is Rod really okay for you to be here?" Nal looked at the woman who clashed with Baduhenna.
"He knows why I came back. I want to see the woman who humiliated my brother, Svarog. I'm not the only one who came, he's here as well," Lada answered as she looked over her shoulder, looking at a man with white hair and a long white beard.
"Ah, Stribog. You and your stupid appearance of wanting to be the oldest and the wisest," Nal chuckled as she looked at the man behind Lada. "So? All of you here to avenge for what Mykel Alester and his people did to your descendants?" Nal asked as she looked at all of them.
They all nodded their heads with serious expressions.
"Fine by me," Nal paused as she stood up. "But you have to play with my rules. I believe you guys still remember what kind of rules they are?" Nal asked with her eyebrows raised.
"We are only doing this until it's over. Once he's dead and all those people who followed him died, our business is done," Lada pointed out because she didn't want to get too close to Nal, and all the Gods behind her. "Whatever you want in return, we don't want you to use any of us in the future. So you have to think of other things that you want from us," Lada added.
"Fine by me," Nal smiled, but her smile meant a thousand meanings behind it.
They didn't have a choice but to rely on Nal, and the reason wasn't because they needed her power or Farbauti but because Nal hated the bloodbath. She didn't hate bloodbath, but she hated seeing bloodbath that wasn't because of her will or plan. If she saw bloodbaths without her knowing, she would punish both sides and make them suffer more than the blood that they had spilled.
"But seeing that there are only a few of you, it looks like the others are planning to do it on their own. I don't like that at all," Nal said as she looked at the sky and saw the Realm of Gods that had been so quiet. "Why don't we pay them a visit? Let them join hands with us since it would benefit them as long as the agreement is the same as what you want," Nal suggested.
"I don't think they would want to do that," Stribog pointed out.
"I have all of you, no? You have agreed and now you're under my ruling. You have to do what I order you to do," Nal said as she looked at all of them with a big smile on her face. "If words can't reach them, then bloodbath is the answer," Nal added and then flew up high into the sky.
Baduhenna watched them leave, but then Nal appeared right behind him even though she had flown away.
"You're coming with us. I need my trusted ally to have my back knowing these guys can stab me in the back, and I'm scared because of that," Nal whispered.
"Who's stupid enough to try to do such a thing to you? You're the last thing they want to mess around with," Baduhenna said as she looked over her shoulder and looked at Nal's face was too close to her face.
"Am I? I didn't know that," Nal asked as she tilted her head and put her finger on her bottom lip acting cute. "Anyway. Come, I really don't trust those guys. Please?" Nal frowned.
"Do I even have a choice?" Baduhenna asked as she sighed.
Nal giggled and then those two flew away.
