Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

While Tanjiro was completely focused on him, Lower Rank Five suddenly flung out his silk threads.

Tanjiro, expecting an attack, tensed to the extreme. Just as he was about to dodge, he realized the target wasn't him, but Nezuko, lying nearby.

He tried to stop it, but it was too late. Overcome with helplessness and self-reproach, he could only scream Nezuko's name: "Nezuko!"

Nezuko was yanked away by the threads and into Lower Rank Five's arms. He held her by the neck, holding her hostage in front of him, his other hand raised towards Tanjiro, five silk threads poised and ready.

"Alright, I have her! I've fulfilled my part of the bargain. You're free to go."

Though Tanjiro was uncooperative and hostile, Lower Rank Five, true to his word, intended to spare him.

Seeing Nezuko captured, Tanjiro couldn't leave. He stamped his foot and charged at Lower Rank Five.

"I told you, you can go! Since you refuse, I'll kill you!" Lower Rank Five, irritated by Tanjiro's disobedience, raised his hand.

With a flick of his wrist, five silk threads shot out like whips towards Tanjiro.

Tanjiro, seeing the incoming threads, performed an emergency braking maneuver, digging his heels into the ground, then powerfully thrusting himself backward, his body flat against the earth.

One thread narrowly grazed him. He backflipped, landing on one hand, regaining his balance.

Looking again, he discovered Nezuko was gone from Lower Rank Five's grasp.

"Where did he take Nezuko?!" Tanjiro demanded, his heart filled with worry and fear.

Just then, drops of blood fell onto Tanjiro's broken blade. Looking up, he saw Nezuko suspended in the air, bound by countless silk threads.

The threads were incredibly sharp, cutting deep into her delicate skin. The pain roused her from her unconsciousness, and she struggled.

"Nezuko!" Tanjiro screamed, his voice raw with anguish.

The sight nearly broke him.

"You son of a bitch, release Nezuko!" Tanjiro roared, his face contorted with rage, his voice a command.

Lower Rank Five's actions had ignited Tanjiro's fury; Nezuko was his most vulnerable point.

"You're so noisy! It won't kill her; she's a {demon}! This is just the beginning of her 'training'," Lower Rank Five said dismissively.

Tanjiro, consumed by rage and murderous intent, charged again.

Lower Rank Five flicked his hand, sending five threads towards Tanjiro.

Tanjiro dodged frantically, but one thread suddenly changed course, wrapping around his leg.

With a sharp tug, he was thrown to the ground.
