Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

Chapter 236: DDDS: Chapter 236

"These Lower Moons are on a completely different level than the demons I've faced before.

Infused with Muzan Kibutsuji's high-concentration blood, they're incredibly powerful!"

Tanjiro finally understood the vast gulf between himself and Ryuji.

It wasn't a small difference; it was as vast as the distance between the peak and the base of a pyramid.

"Calm down, Tanjiro! This isn't the time for self-doubt. Since Lower Rank Five isn't trying to kill you quickly, we need to exploit that,"

Tanjiro quickly regained his composure.

"Passed out?! She's certainly unique. Different from us... interesting," Lower Rank Five murmured, observing the unconscious Nezuko.

Having calmed his breathing and centered his mind, Tanjiro decided to try Water Breathing, Form Ten: Constant Flux, to create an opening.

[Water Breathing, Tenth Form: Constant Flux]

This technique delivers sustained, explosive damage. While the initial attack might be weaker than Form One: Water Surface Slash, the momentum generated by the body's rotation, combined with the layered rhythmic breathing, increases the damage exponentially with each subsequent strike.

Theoretically, the water's momentum can increase indefinitely, but this is limited by the user's physical strength, stamina, and the weapon's durability.

Pushing beyond one's physical limits could result in damaged meridians and muscles, or even instant death.

Even without physical limitations, the weapon's strength becomes a limiting factor; excessive power could destroy the weapon itself.

Tanjiro had planned to use Constant Flux against the {Spider Demon}, but he never had the chance to build momentum before being knocked out of the fight.

"Total Concentration, Water Breathing, Tenth Form: Constant Flux!"

Tanjiro assumed his starting stance, initiating the rhythmic breathing of Tenth Form. He stamped his foot, creating ripples in the surrounding water, then launched himself at Lower Rank Five like a bullet.

Tanjiro knew Lower Rank Five would use silk threads to restrain him, so he planned to strike those threads to build up the water's momentum on his blade, compensating for his lack of strength.

"Still don't get it? This is futile!" Lower Rank Five, seeing Tanjiro's unwavering advance, raised his hands, and sharp silk threads lashed out towards him.

Tanjiro timed his strike perfectly, slashing at the threads with his broken blade.

The sharp, tough threads, though not severed, were deflected by the impact, veering off to the side.

Tanjiro twisted, dodging, then countered with another slash at the threads.

Each strike sent water droplets flying—the concentrated water momentum building on his blade. He pressed his attack, building momentum and steadily closing the distance to Lower Rank Five.

Three strikes, four strikes... by the fifth strike, the concentrated water momentum on his broken blade had coalesced into a swirling water dragon at the blade's edge.
