Digital Emperor (Naruto X Digimon)

Chapter 85: Chapter 85

The battlefield trembled beneath the weight of Darkdramon's presence, the air itself thick with its overwhelming power. But despite the oppressive atmosphere, the Digi-Destined refused to give in. They had been on the brink of despair before. They had been tested to the limits of their strength and resolve, facing death and defeat time and time again. And yet, each time, they had found the strength to rise.

Davis, his voice loud and clear, shouted out to his team. "You are not the only one that can do it. Team, show him what you've got!" His words were a beacon of hope, a reminder that they had faced impossible odds before and come out victorious. His voice rang with the same determination that had guided them through their previous battles, and it was enough to reignite the fire in their hearts.

They had faced the unthinkable once before. The team had ventured into the heart of danger, guided by their teacher to a desolate, perilous land where they confronted two Mega Digimon along with several Ultimate Digimon. The odds had been stacked against them, and they had fought with everything they had. It had been a battle that almost claimed their lives, but in the face of death, something miraculous had happened.

The Digivices, their constant companions, had responded to their determination. With each passing moment, the power they had fought for—their belief in each other—was recognized. The Digivices had granted them the victory conditions they so desperately needed.

The team had seen their partner Digimon Digivolve into forms they had never thought possible, and with those transformations, they had achieved victory.

Now, as Darkdramon loomed before them, the Digi-Destined knew that they were facing an even greater challenge. But they weren't afraid. They had already been through the worst. And they had come out stronger for it.

"DNA Digivolution!" Davis cried out, his words echoing across the battlefield as his voice rang with a fierce resolve. His team followed his command without hesitation.

In the blink of an eye, the Digimon partners began to merge, their forms shifting and changing into something far greater than the sum of their parts.

Angemon and Ankylomon combined to form Shakkoumon, a Mutant Digimon unlike anything the battlefield had ever seen. The creature had white wings that gleamed like silver, an ethereal glow surrounding it as it stepped forward. Shakkoumon was a perfect fusion of speed and power, with the ability to rotate its neck and torso 360°, enabling it to strike in every direction. This made it a master of both offense and defense, and with its battle-ready wings, it was ready to take on any challenge. It was as if an angelic warrior had descended from the heavens to join the fray.

Gatomon and Aquilamon merged next to form Silphymon, a Digimon that possessed the strength of an animal and the grace of a bird. With tenacious leg strength, Silphymon could leap to incredible heights, launching itself into the air with the power of a glider. Its radar-equipped ears allowed it to detect and locate enemies, transmitting vital information to its head-mounted display, ensuring it could track its target even in the dark. Speed, precision, and agility were Silphymon's greatest assets—this Digimon could soar through the air and strike before anyone even knew it was coming.

Finally, Veedramon underwent a dramatic transformation, evolving into ExVeemon, a Digimon of immense strength and unparalleled combat prowess. But it wasn't just ExVeemon. Stingmon also joined forces with ExVeemon, combining to form Paildramon, a Dragon Man Digimon. Paildramon possessed the strength of a dragon and the defense of an insect—two characteristics that made it nearly indestructible. While it might have resembled a dragon in form, it was a creature of agility, deadly precision, and unstoppable force. Its fierce loyalty to Davis ensured that it would fight until its last breath to protect its Tamer.

As the DNA Digivolutions completed, three Ultimate Digimon now stood ready to face Darkdramon. Shakkoumon, the strongest of the three, was a beacon of power, while Paildramon was the most dangerous combatant, and Silphymon was the fastest. Together, they were an unstoppable force, ready to fight with everything they had.

The battlefield had now transformed into a true clash of titans. The power radiating from Darkdramon and the newly evolved Digimon on the other side was so intense that the ground itself seemed to quake beneath their feet. Both sides had revealed their aces, and the true battle was about to begin.

Even Naruto could not hide his surprise. He had been watching the Digi-Destined's journey from the beginning, and he had seen how much they had grown. This was no longer a mere skirmish; this was a battle between forces of unimaginable power.

The air around them crackled with tension, the battlefield shifting under the weight of the power at play. The Digi-Destined had unlocked a miracle, an evolution that should have been beyond their current level. Their determination, their bonds, their very beliefs had been rewarded with DNA Digivolution, a feat that even Naruto had not expected at this stage.

Standing at the heart of it all, Takeru, the bearer of the Crest of Hope, was the embodiment of this miracle. His presence was like a beacon in the darkness, his unwavering spirit shining through. Naruto's golden eyes locked onto him, filled with both admiration and curiosity.

"Bravo," Naruto said, his voice carrying across the battlefield. "You have surpassed all expectations. I could never have imagined you'd unlock such a function at this stage. It is truly a miracle."

Takeru met Naruto's gaze, feeling the weight of those words. He wasn't one to seek recognition, but hearing Naruto Uzumaki, the strongest among them, acknowledge their efforts filled him with pride. Yet, he knew the truth—Naruto's own Digimon partners had achieved feats beyond reason. His MetalMeramon had been an anomaly, and now Darkdramon stood before them, an overwhelming force of destruction.

The Crests.

They were small, unassuming tags, yet they held the power to divide and define the chosen ones of this world. The Crest of Light, held by Kari, amplified her partner Gatomon to extraordinary levels. If fully activated, it would allow her Digimon to ascend directly to a stronger stage in dire moments. But more than that, it tied her to the concept of light, giving her the potential to wield an Ultra-level Digimon—something that only a handful of people in the Digital World could even dream of.

Then there was Ken's Crest of Kindness—a power that could heal Digimon, tame wild ones, and empower his partner through the sheer force of his kindness. It made him uniquely suited to forming bonds where others would fail.

But the most mysterious and broken ability among them was Takeru's Crest of Hope. It allowed for miracles—real, tangible changes in the world, dictated by the hope within his heart and those around him. It was a power beyond logic, one that defied reason and bent reality to his will.

Hope could not be defeated. Hope could not be extinguished.

It was because of this that every Crest Holder had the potential to reach Ultra-level, the highest form of Digimon evolution. Even Tai, with his Crest of Courage, had yet to fully unlock his potential—if he did, he would undoubtedly stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ancients.

Naruto had studied the Crests for a long time, curious about their power. Though he had not been chosen, he couldn't help but wonder—could he obtain one for himself? If he did, what would it be?

Perhaps the Crest of Family, representing his unbreakable bonds?

Or Sacrifice, for the burdens he willingly bore?

Leadership, to symbolize his role as a guiding force?

Or maybe Destiny, for the path he was meant to walk?

For now, though, such thoughts were fleeting.

Takeru smiled, shaking his head. "Thank you for your generous compliments, but it's still nothing compared to what you've accomplished. What you've done is impossible for anyone else."

The others nodded in agreement. Naruto was a living anomaly—his power should not exist in their world. His MetalMeramon alone had defied expectations, and now Darkdramon stood as the ultimate proof of his capabilities.

But just because Naruto was powerful didn't mean they would back down.

Davis clenched his fists, a cocky grin spreading across his face. "Thanks for the compliments, but it's time we kicked your ass! This has been a long time coming, and I'm looking forward to your loss."

The battlefield fell silent.

And then, Ken kicked Davis in the shin.

Davis yelped, rubbing his leg. "What the hell, man?!"

Ken sighed, rubbing his temples before bowing slightly towards Naruto. "I apologize for his rude words. He still has rash thoughts from time to time."

Davis scowled, glaring at his best friend. "Dude, what was that for?"

Ken's voice echoed in his mind.

"What are you doing? Don't just declare victory until the battle is over. Anything can happen. You'll make a fool of yourself with those words."

Davis huffed, crossing his arms. "I'm just saying—"

"No, you're just rushing in like you always do." Ken's tone was sharp but not unkind. "You're our leader, but you still lack the strategic mindset to back up your confidence. Let us do the thinking, and you focus on leading."

Davis fell silent. As much as he hated to admit it, Ken was right. He was the fearless warrior, the one who inspired everyone to fight against impossible odds—but when it came to strategy, that was Yolei, Ken, and Cody's domain.

Naruto chuckled, watching their exchange with amusement. "I don't mind." His smile widened, but it was no longer friendly. "However, it's time to crush that hope of yours with extreme prejudice."

The air turned cold.

Shivers ran down their spines as Naruto's presence changed. It was one thing to fight alongside him, to witness his power firsthand. It was another thing entirely to stand against him.

"Darkdramon, don't hold back."

Dragon Force.

Stat Boost.

Agility.

Dark Roar.

Giga Lance.

Naruto slashed five cards in a row, each one feeding raw power into Darkdramon.

A torrent of energy erupted around the metallic beast, his body trembling as the enhancements took effect. The sheer power from the modifications sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield.

Each card placed a strain on both Naruto and Darkdramon, drawing from their reserves, but they were prepared for the cost.

The Dark Roar ability sent out a wave of debuffs, weakening the Digi-Destined's Digimon, making them slower, their attacks less effective.

Giga Lance surged through Darkdramon's weapon, empowering it with the true might of an authentic Darkdramon's Lance—a weapon capable of destroying cities in a single blow.

And then, as the final ability activated, Darkdramon's body pulsed with pure destructive force. His movements became sharper, faster, his muscles denser, his metallic plating heavier and stronger.

"None of you can fight against me."

Darkdramon's voice was like a death sentence.

"Surrender or die."

A dreadful silence filled the air.

"That is for us to decide," Paildramon declared, his voice laced with defiance as he raised his arm-mounted blasters. "And we will show you that you are not so special."

Without hesitation, Shakkoumon took the initiative, his massive, temple-like body floating slightly above the battlefield. His eyes glowed with a piercing red light before twin beams of pure destructive energy erupted from them.

Justice Beam!

The twin beams, capable of reaching temperatures of 100,000°C at their focal point, shot forth at light speed, aimed directly at Darkdramon's metallic frame. The sheer intensity of the heat could melt nearly anything on contact.

Yet, as the attack struck, an unexpected sight unfolded—Darkdramon stood unmoved.

The scorching beams connected, bathing him in a blinding red glow, but the nuclear-powered Digimon didn't even flinch. His armor, forged from the most durable metals and enhanced with high-density energy cores, resisted the attack effortlessly. With a slow, deliberate movement, he raised his clawed hand, absorbing the impact like it was nothing.

"Pathetic."

Darkdramon's eyes flickered ominously as he countered with a barrage of spiraling energy beams, each twisting unpredictably through the air like serpents homing in on their prey.

Paildramon reacted swiftly, his dual blasters coming to life as he fired round after round of precision shots to intercept the attack. The sky lit up with streaks of blue and red energy as the two forces clashed.

Meanwhile, Silphymon disappeared in a blur. In an instant, he reappeared behind Darkdramon, his speed surpassing that of lightning itself. His foot swung forward in a high-speed kick, aiming directly at the back of Darkdramon's head.

But just before impact, a shockwave erupted from Darkdramon's body. A sheer force of energy lashed outward like an unseen explosion, striking Silphymon before he could land the hit.

The birdlike warrior barely had time to react as he was sent skidding across the battlefield. Though his speed was remarkable, he lacked the raw power needed to break through Darkdramon's near-indestructible body.

Darkdramon didn't wait.

His raised arm crackled with immense power as he pointed directly at Silphymon.

Nuclear Blaster!

A searing beam of energy exploded forth, an all-consuming force designed to erase anything in its path. The sheer pressure of the attack warped the space around it, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.

Silphymon barely managed to escape thanks to the intervention of his tamers. A last-minute boost surged through his body, increasing his reaction speed just enough to avoid instant destruction.

Paildramon, meanwhile, unleashed his Dragon Barrier, the shimmering field of energy enveloping him just in time to absorb the remnants of the attack.

Shakkoumon, recognizing the threat, activated Super Spirit, an ability that amplified his allies' power by 100%, bolstering their defenses and offensive capabilities. He ceased his laser barrage, realizing that conventional heat-based attacks were ineffective.

Yet, the momentary reprieve was short-lived.

Darkdramon's body ignited with roaring flames, an infernal blaze consuming the battlefield as his aura flared up. His entire frame burned with an unnatural energy, the flames taking on a black-and-white hue—the manifestation of Yin-Yang energy.

This ability, inherited from Naruto's Candlemon and refined through evolution, was far beyond a simple elemental power. It was the raw force of balance itself, capable of reducing all things to nothingness or restoring them to their peak state. A terrifying ability, though still in its infancy.

Darkdramon surged forward.

His speed, augmented by boosters, shattered the ground beneath him as he closed the distance in an instant. His massive lance, rotating at blinding speeds, glowed with the dual energy of creation and destruction.

Pierce through them.

Silphymon barely had time to react before the lance struck. The erasure properties of Yin-Yang energy flared upon impact, bypassing traditional defenses. A flash of light engulfed the battlefield as the birdlike warrior was the first to fall, his body vanishing into streams of data.

Next came Paildramon. Though his dragon-like durability should have allowed him to withstand the onslaught, the nature of Darkdramon's attack bypassed conventional resilience. The energy ate away at his body, data fragments scattering into the wind as he collapsed.

Finally, there was Shakkoumon.

The temple-bodied Digimon was the most resilient of the three, his durability among the highest in his class. But even he could not hold out for long. The devastating flames, combined with the speed and power of Darkdramon's lance, shattered his defenses.

A final explosion of energy rocked the battlefield.

And then—silence.

As the dust settled, only one remained standing.

Darkdramon, victorious.

The Digimon's mechanical wings spread wide, and he let out a deafening roar, declaring his supremacy. His form radiated raw power, flames still licking the battlefield as the remnants of his opponents' data dispersed into the air.
