Chapter 232: [232] The Selection of a New Actor!

Chapter 232: The Selection of a New Actor!

"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" was a unique and distinctive series that stood out among others.

Before Durin's transmigration, it was undoubtedly one of his favorite anime.

Although its bold and intense art style created a higher barrier of entry for some viewers, those who loved the series deeply appreciated its astonishing creativity and unpredictable plot twists.

Most importantly, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure featured numerous iconic moments and unforgettable lines.

These elements possessed a unique charm and character, which, combined with the widespread popularity of meme culture and secondary creations, significantly boosted the series' recognition and influence.

Of course, all of this was ultimately a testament to the brilliance of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The quality of the original work was beyond doubt.

Durin had previously considered adapting JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 1—set in a similar era—into a film in this world.

However, for various reasons, he had never acted on the idea.

Now, upon learning that the southern aristocrats were planning to produce a vampire-themed movie, he decisively stepped forward to take on the project.

The reason was simple: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure featured extensive vampire-related content.

While the depiction of vampires in JoJo might deviate slightly from traditional perceptions, Durin believed that most audiences could accept this difference.

Above all, Durin firmly believed that entertainment was the key to a movie's success.

As long as a film was engaging, it could gain widespread recognition and resonate with audiences.

With this in mind, after confirming there were no issues with the script for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 1, Durin headed straight to Edward Studios to begin preparations for the film's production.

...

"What? A new movie is being made?"

Zat, who was helping clean up the tavern, froze when he heard Durin's announcement.

After all, he had just finished watching Kara no Kyoukai with Aya and the others and was eagerly anticipating the next installments of Fate/Zero and Steins;Gate.

The last thing he expected was for Durin to decide to produce a new movie at such a pivotal moment.

Durin, however, didn't offer much explanation. He simply said calmly, "This time, the selection of actors for the new movie will be a bit unusual. I estimate that most of the key roles cannot be filled by our existing theater troupe actors. Therefore, we need to hold a large-scale casting to find suitable candidates."

"This…"

Hearing this, Chase, the head of the Troupe, was equally stunned.

He had assumed that Durin would, as usual, select actors from within the troupe for the new film.

In fact, he had been secretly hoping he might get a chance to take on another role himself.

But since it was a decision Durin had already made, he didn't question it further. Instead, his mind wandered to the peculiar activities of other troupes in recent days.

As the manager of a theater troupe, he couldn't help but sense that those actions were somehow connected to Durin's sudden decision to make a new movie.

Regardless, Edward Studios had always been a company centered entirely around Durin. No one within the organization would dare criticize his decisions.

Now that Durin had declared the recruitment of a new batch of actors, everyone began moving into action.

"By the way, what are the criteria for this casting?"

Hearing Beldia's question, Durin thought for a moment before replying, "For the protagonist, the physique should be at least… about the same as yours."

"Huh?"

Hearing this, not only was Beldia stunned, but everyone present was left speechless.

After all, Beldia's physique was that of a top-tier knight—something nearly impossible to find among ordinary civilians.

Realizing this issue, Durin was momentarily at a loss. However, after a brief moment of thought, he quickly said, "Right! If it's unlikely to find someone with such a physique among civilians, then we simply won't look there. The Southern Border Army camp isn't far from here; I'll just go directly to Duke Constantine and ask him for candidates!"

With that, Durin ignored the astonished expressions of those around him and disappeared into thin air via a teleportation circle.

"What kind of movie is Director Durin planning this time? A brawl between muscle-bound warriors?"

Saiki's muttered comment left the rest of the studio members exchanging puzzled glances. In the end, they decided to leave the mystery unresolved for now and returned to their respective tasks.

...

"Durin, why are you back so soon?"

When Daphne saw Durin arrive at the Southern Duke's residence, she was visibly surprised. She hadn't expected him to return the day after he had just left.

Durin, however, responded calmly, "I need to speak with Duke Constantine."

"My father? He's in the study."

"Alright."

Following Daphne into the inner chambers of the duke's estate, Durin once again met with Duke Constantine.

The duke, clearly surprised by his return, listened as Durin directly stated his purpose:

"Your Grace, due to some unique requirements, I'd like to select a group of actors from the Southern Border Army to participate in my new movie."

"Actors?"

Caught off guard by such an unusual request, Duke Constantine paused briefly before replying, "While I'd love to grant your request, the Southern Border Army is currently on high alert, preparing for potential beast tides from the untamed lands. This really isn't a good time."

"Is that so?"

"You're acquainted with General Wilhelm, aren't you? Why not seek candidates from the Imperial Knight Corps or the Imperial Army in the capital?"

"..."

Hearing the rejection, Durin's expression turned helpless. While the duke's reasoning was sound, his instincts as a director told him that the perfect candidates were undoubtedly among the Southern Border Army.

As Durin prepared to leave reluctantly, a golden-haired phantom suddenly materialized in the corner of the room. Its ethereal figure spoke with a calm but authoritative voice:

"The beast tides in the untamed lands have already entered a dormant phase. There won't be any activity for the next six months."

"This..."

Seeing the familiar golden-haired progenitor intervene, Duke Constantine was momentarily stunned.

Durin was equally at a loss for words.

Arcueid, however, simply gave him a faint smile and said calmly, "A new movie—I'm looking forward to it."

With that, she slowly turned around and vanished, leaving only Duke Constantine and Durin staring at each other in silence.

"Sigh, it seems the True Ancestor really does have a soft spot for movies," the duke remarked helplessly.

Hearing this, Durin couldn't help but smile. He knew that with the intervention of the duke's ancient ancestor, this matter was as good as settled!
