Douluo Dalu: My System Is Dissastified

Chapter 47: Chapter 47

Chapter 47: One Pair is a Pair

When Ye Feng found Flanders, Tang San had already walked out of his office. The conversation they had must've been simple, probably revolving around Yu Xiaogang.

Ye Feng didn't need to eavesdrop; he already knew what they talked about. That feeling of control, of having everything in the palm of his hand, was intoxicating.

"Ye Feng, you got something to talk to me about?" Flanders asked.

"Dean, I heard from Dai Mubai that the academy is struggling financially?" Ye Feng went straight to the point.

"If you're offering to help with money, then forget it. Didn't Dai Mubai tell you? Shrek Academy has a strict rule—students can't privately fund the academy." Flanders' tone was calm, though there was a weight behind his words. He knew Ye Feng was loaded, and being the disciple of Chen Xin from the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect only solidified that. But Shrek had its principles, and he wasn't about to rely on a couple of rich students to solve the academy's problems.

"Dean, I think you misunderstood. I'm not offering a donation. I want to do business with you." Ye Feng smiled.

"Business? With a twelve-year-old?" Flanders chuckled, then burst into laughter. "Hahaha, you want me to do business with a kid like you?"

"Dean, since when did age matter? Isn't Shrek Academy supposed to recruit only monsters?" Ye Feng remained composed, completely unfazed by Flanders' laughter.

"Alright, fine. You got ten minutes. Let's hear it." Flanders leaned back, his interest slightly piqued. He doubted a kid could have a solid business idea, but he was willing to listen.

At that, Ye Feng began explaining various cutting-edge industries from his past life—things like food delivery, express logistics, supermarkets, and most notably, the real estate model that made Xu Jiayin rich.

Morning turned into noon, and Flanders was still listening, engrossed.

"You're saying… this can really make money?" Flanders asked, his voice carrying a hint of excitement.

"Dean, think about it logically. Would you rather shop at a place where everything is in one spot, or run around the entire city for your daily needs? And don't forget, supermarket prices are generally lower than market prices." Ye Feng smirked.

"If this works… Ye Feng, you'd be the damn savior of Shrek Academy!" Flanders said, his excitement barely contained.

"So, are you willing to try it?" Ye Feng asked.

"We'll start with this supermarket idea of yours," Flanders said after a moment of thought.

After leaving Flanders' office, Ye Feng frowned and muttered, "System, didn't I just change the storyline? Why didn't I get any attribute points?"

In the original timeline, Shrek Academy nearly shut down due to financial struggles. They were unable to pay off officials to smooth relationships, which resulted in them failing to get an official rating. This left them with no choice but to temporarily merge with the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.

But now, Ye Feng had given Flanders a business idea. If Flanders executed it, the funding issue could be solved. Yet, the system hadn't given Ye Feng any attribute points.

"Host, Flanders has only decided to build a supermarket—he hasn't actually done it yet. Since Shrek Academy's financial situation hasn't changed, your action hasn't officially altered the storyline." The system's voice was indifferent.

"So, I need to wait until Flanders actually makes money and stabilizes the academy's finances before I get my reward?" Ye Feng asked.

"Correct."

Just then, familiar voices rang out from up ahead.

"Oscar, how many damn laps is this?"

"I told you, this shit is impossible! But hey, don't worry about lunch. I got my big sausage right here."

Hearing that, Ye Feng looked ahead and saw Oscar running alongside Ning Rongrong. The two were bickering as they ran. Oscar even pulled out a sausage and tried handing it to Ning Rongrong.

Since both of them were auxiliary spirit masters, being able to run away was essential. That's why Flanders made them run twenty laps before lunch. If they didn't finish, they'd go hungry.

"Rongrong, just take one bite. My sausage is delicious! It heals wounds and restores stamina!" Oscar grinned.

"I said I don't want it!"

"Come on, just eat a little. My sausage will give you energy!"

"Your sausage?! I got two big slices of thick bread right here, dumbass!" Ning Rongrong snapped, looking at Oscar's sausage with disgust. When she spotted Ye Feng, her mood instantly lifted. She trotted over, fatigue momentarily forgotten, and smiled brightly.

"Brother! What are you doing here?"

Ye Feng reached out, ruffling Ning Rongrong's hair. "Just passing by."

"Brother, help me out! He keeps bullying me!" Ning Rongrong pouted, pointing at Oscar.

"What's wrong?" Ye Feng asked.

"He keeps sneaking glances at me when we're running, and he keeps trying to make me eat his… his sausage." Ning Rongrong's face turned red. The look in her eyes was complicated. Though she acted like she despised Oscar, deep down, she did feel a little proud. She knew Oscar probably liked her. And what girl wouldn't feel happy about being admired?

That said, Ning Rongrong wasn't the same as before. She already had someone she liked.

"Oscar, you into Rongrong?" Ye Feng asked bluntly.

"I…" Oscar hesitated, staring at Ning Rongrong. His emotions were written all over his face.

Ye Feng sighed. "Oscar, don't blame me for not warning you. My junior sister is the eldest daughter of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, and her martial spirit is the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda. The sect has a strict rule—any disciple with this spirit must marry a combat spirit master. Do you really think you should keep chasing her?"

The words hung in the air like a death sentence.

Oscar froze.

Ning Rongrong lowered her gaze, gripping the hem of her clothes.

Silence.
