No wonder the Mosasaur clan, composed entirely of ten-thousand-year-old spirit beasts, had such devastating power. After that barrage of energy waves, the small desolate island was completely erased.

However, the soul rings—products of rules—remained in place.

The Mosasaur King clearly noticed Ye Wen's presence but also knew that even if their entire clan expended all their strength, they might not be able to defeat someone with Ye Wen's bug-like mobility. With a resentful roar, it led its clan into the deep sea, leaving Ye Wen behind.

"Go absorb those two soul rings," Ye Wen said. "I didn't expect the Mosasaur clan to have such long-range soul skills in addition to physical attacks. It adds some variability to your soul skills."

Although obtaining such direct attack-type soul skills might somewhat diminish the potential of the Huo siblings, acquiring soul rings was never a guaranteed process. Martial souls would only absorb skills that resonated with them, sometimes even mutating to adapt.

Their first four soul rings were already a stroke of luck, as they all turned out to be enhancement-type skills, indicating the martial soul's preference for such attributes. If luck held this time, they likely wouldn't directly obtain the wave-emitting skill. But even if they did, it wouldn't be bad—given the current physical condition of the siblings, even wave-based attacks could now defeat some ordinary Soul Emperors. While it wouldn't be a life-changing boost, it would still be a valuable addition.

With Ye Wen standing guard, the siblings began absorbing the soul rings with peace of mind. Meanwhile, Ye Wen remained vigilant and searched for the remains of the two young Mosasaurs.

Large spirit beasts were essentially treasure troves, and these Mosasaurs were no exception, being pseudo-dragon spirit beasts. Though their attributes didn't align perfectly with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, the clan would gladly purchase such spirit beasts. Due to their heritage, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan often produced variant martial souls, though none were as poorly mutated as Yu Xiaogang's. Selling these remains could fetch a handsome sum.

However, the combined attack that obliterated a several-hundred-square-meter island had completely shattered the two young Mosasaurs, leaving little of value.

But soon, Ye Wen's expression turned peculiar. After rummaging around, he retrieved two translucent bones from the sea.

These were not ordinary bones but treasures coveted by soul masters—soul bones.

In addition to enhancing a soul master's physical attributes upon absorption, ten-thousand-year soul bones could also grant an additional soul skill. In other words, hunting a ten-thousand-year spirit beast that dropped a soul bone was equivalent to obtaining two soul skills from a hundred-thousand-year soul ring.

In this era where hundred-thousand-year soul rings were legendary, soul bones were undoubtedly the most coveted treasures for soul masters.

Finding two soul bones at once was incredibly lucky, but considering how the two Mosasaurs died, it wasn't hard to imagine their anguish before death. Being beaten to death by humans was one thing, but being blown apart by their own clan's attack must have been utterly frustrating.

"Both are right arm bones. They're quite good, but their age is a bit low for Xiao Rui and Xiao Quan," Ye Wen mused.

By this time, the siblings had awakened from their soul ring assimilation.

Though only a year apart in age, both had reached the Soul King realm—a level most soul masters could never achieve in a lifetime. Ye Wen's eyes reflected satisfaction.

Huo Rui spoke first: "Master, I'm now at level 55. My fifth soul skill is Tyrant Dragon Body, which increases all my attributes by 50% for 30 minutes."

Having consumed two immortal herbs that increased soul power and improved aptitude, reaching level 55 was reasonable. After all, in the original story, these herbs boosted Dai Mu Bai and Zhu Zhu Qing's levels by more than five.

"Not bad. Combined with your previous four enhancement skills, you can now take on a mid-level Soul Sage in a one-on-one fight," Ye Wen remarked.

Beside her, Huo Quan's face fell.

Seeing this, Ye Wen immediately knew his soul power level was lower than Huo Rui's.

"And you?"

"My fifth soul skill is also Tyrant Dragon Body, but it increases all attributes by 60% for 30 minutes. As for my soul power, I'm at level 53."

Having always surpassed his sister, being overtaken now made Huo Quan feel uncomfortable, though he harbored no resentment. Their sibling relationship wasn't like those clichéd novels.

"Level 53 isn't bad either, but don't belittle yourself. Your sister's immortal herbs all increased soul power, while only the last herb you consumed—the Eight-Petal Fairy Orchid—had that effect. You're only temporarily behind; with effort, you'll catch up.

Your foundation is stronger than Xiao Rui's. If you were the same age as her, you'd actually be stronger." Ye Wen consoled him.

"Yes, Master. I'll work hard when we return," Huo Quan said earnestly. Pressure fueled motivation. As the disciple who had previously been the strongest among Ye Wen's direct disciples, falling behind now naturally spurred Huo Quan to strive harder.

Ye Wen then informed the siblings about the two soul bones. The siblings weren't particularly greedy for the soul bones, knowing that equipping them now would be a waste for their future development.

Moreover, to repay Ye Wen's kindness, they fully supported his decision to allocate the soul bones to weaker junior disciples.

Ye Wen, however, wasn't one to take advantage—even of his own disciples. He gave each sibling a gold soul coin card worth one million as compensation for the soul bones.

With their mission accomplished, the trio decided not to linger. To be honest, Ye Wen's Void Barrier soul skill was incredibly convenient over the sea, allowing them to fly without worrying about wind speed or ocean waves.

As Ye Wen ascended into the air, he suddenly noticed a figure floating in the water nearby.

"A person? Could they have been caught in the Mosasaurs' earlier attack?" Ye Wen wondered.

Under A Yin's subtle influence, Ye Wen wasn't completely heartless anymore. He maneuvered the Void Barrier closer.

The figure appeared to be a woman. Not wanting to touch her directly, Ye Wen had Huo Rui pull her aboard.

But when the woman lay on the *Void Barrier*, all three fell silent.

What a white tail—not quite. What a round tail—no, wait. This… was a mermaid?

The woman had long azure hair adorned with simple seashell decorations. Her upper body was clad in a small garment that accentuated her curves, drawing gazes involuntarily. Her lower body was a long, smooth blue fish tail, resembling that of a dolphin.

Seeing her master and brother unable to look away, Huo Rui scolded them:

"Master, if you keep this up, I'm going to report you! And Xiao Quan, you're still young—what are you looking at so much for?! Cover your eyes, quick!"

"Cough, it's not my fault! Seeing such a maternal figure, any man would instinctively look twice. Xiao Rui, you must believe me—I'm not that kind of person. Blame human instincts, not me. No need to report me to Ah Yin."

Ye Wen tried to defend himself earnestly.

Without a word, Huo Rui retrieved a piece of clothing from her storage soul tool and draped it over the mermaid. She then glared fiercely at her master and brother.

Realizing his mistake, Ye Wen shifted his gaze to the distance. As for Huo Quan, he was just a fifteen-year-old boy who had been immersed in cultivation since awakening his martial soul. Having never seen such a sight before, he stammered awkwardly and eventually looked away as well.
