Chapter 631: Chapter 631: Qian Renxue: No, I’m Willing!

Meanwhile, Tang Chen began to receive information about his new trials for the God of Slaughter legacy in his mind.

[Due to your current spirit power level of 99, you will automatically skip the first six trials.]

[Rewards: 70% Slaughter God Affinity, a divine spirit ring.]

[Seventh Trial of the God of Slaughter: Draw the Divine Weapon, the Sword of Slaughter!]

At that moment, a long sword, about four feet in length, appeared on the throne once occupied by the King of Slaughter, radiating a dark, murderous aura.

"Great-grandfather, what is that?" Tang San asked curiously.

Tang Chen replied calmly, "This is my seventh trial. I have to draw the Sword of Slaughter. But there's no rush. Let's focus on your second trial first."

Tang San nodded heavily, giving the sword one last look before setting his gaze forward again. He hoped that by the time he reached the seventh trial of his own inheritance, he'd receive a divine weapon too.

Back at Jialing Pass.

After helping Da Ming through his 200,000-year lightning tribulation, Su Ming and Da Ming returned to the fortress wall.

"Teacher, the battlefield is littered with the bodies of the entire Clear Sky Clan. Even though their spirit bones may not be high in age, it would be prudent to gather them," Su Ming suggested.

Bibi Dong nodded slightly.

Su Ming then opened his Kamui space and released Qian Renxue. He immediately noticed a faint blush on her face, which he found peculiar.

"Xue-jie, your face is red. Was it too stuffy inside my Kamui space?" Su Ming asked. He'd never stayed in the Kamui space long himself, so he wasn't sure why she was blushing. Could it be from lack of oxygen?

"Oh? Right, yes… It was too dark and a bit stifling in there," Qian Renxue replied, her gaze flickering slightly.

Qian Daoliu, standing nearby, observed her reaction with a glint in his eye. There was something intriguing in Xue's tone…

Qian Daoliu's gaze flickered between Su Ming and Qian Renxue. He quickly came to a decision.

Su Ming, glancing at Qian Renxue's blush, recalled the fourth trial set by the Goddess of Life. He found Qian Renxue very beautiful, but he'd always treated her as a sister. Of course, his affection for her was far from platonic; he hoped to gradually deepen their bond until the time was right.

But now, Su Ming realized he might not have the luxury of time for such a slow approach. Inwardly frustrated, he decided to put off dealing with it until they returned to the Spirit Hall.

Unbeknownst to him, Qian Daoliu was silently observing his expression and noted that this might be the perfect time to act.

If Ning Fengzhi and the others hadn't been there, Qian Daoliu would have directly asked Qian Renxue about her feelings. After all, Ning Rongrong was one of Su Ming's partners, so asking if his granddaughter had feelings for Su Ming in front of her father would have seemed impolite. And knowing Qian Renxue, it was better to approach the matter privately.

"Very well, I'll remain here to clean up," Bibi Dong said, her tone filled with uncontainable joy. "Su Ming, take Xue and the others back to the Spirit Hall to prepare. Soon, the continent will be unified under the Spirit Empire."

Su Ming had no objections. He gathered Qian Renxue and Qian Daoliu and headed back.

At midnight, his daily reward notification rang.

[Ding! Congratulations on completing today's diary entry. Reward: 'Plow.']

[Plow: A space-time artifact from the Ōtsutsuki clan in Naruto, allowing a one-time journey into the past.]

What? Su Ming looked at the reward, bewildered. Did the system have a particular purpose in giving him an artifact that allowed travel back in time?

Then it hit him. This artifact was likely intended for helping Bibi Dong with her traumatic past.

The following morning, Su Ming was summoned to the Offering Hall by Qian Daoliu.

When he arrived, all seven High Priests were present, along with Qian Renxue. Su Ming gave her a friendly nod, but to his surprise, she blushed and looked away, visibly flustered. What's going on?

He also noticed that the other High Priests were glancing at him with faint smiles.

"Su Ming, thank you for coming," Qian Daoliu said, his tone carrying a hint of excitement.

Though Su Ming felt puzzled, he greeted each of the High Priests with respect.

"Su Ming," Qian Daoliu began, not bothering with formalities, "what do you think of our Xue?"

Qian Renxue's shoulders trembled slightly at her grandfather's directness, taken aback by how openly he had approached the topic.

Yesterday, when they'd returned to the Spirit Hall, her grandfather had pulled her aside in the Offering Hall and asked whether she had romantic feelings for Su Ming. The other six High Priests, hidden nearby, had quietly observed.

She had intended to test her grandfather's and mother's opinions on Su Ming becoming her partner, possibly even her husband. But now, it seemed her grandfather had decided to act first.

"What do I think of Xue-jie? She's wonderful. She's talented, powerful, the successor to the Angel God… and most importantly, she's beautiful. I doubt there's anyone on the continent worthy of her." Su Ming's compliment was genuine.

Qian Renxue's heart fluttered at his words, a slight smile appearing on her face as she looked at him, secretly pleased.

Qian Daoliu chuckled. "Actually, you're wrong, Su Ming. There is someone on this continent who is worthy of her."

The seven High Priests' eyes collectively turned to Su Ming, making the meaning behind Qian Daoliu's words clear.

Su Ming understood but played along. "Oh? And who might that be?"

"You." Qian Daoliu replied without hesitation. "In all of the continent, you are the only one worthy of Xue."

"Me?" Su Ming looked at Qian Daoliu. "Grandfather Qian, don't forget that I'm technically her younger brother. Besides, you're aware that I have other women I'm committed to protecting. Xue-jie is proud and independent—she wouldn't be comfortable with that arrangement, would she?"

It was becoming clear to him that Qian Renxue had developed feelings for him.

"No, I don't mind!" Qian Renxue interjected, unable to contain herself any longer.
