The Blue Silver Emperor held the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb gently in her hands, her expression calm yet contemplative. The flickering flames of the fire cast a warm glow on both their faces. Lin Yongming's face showed a hint of anticipation, while the Blue Silver Emperor occasionally glanced at him or the herb, her expression complex.
"This flower is no ordinary treasure," the Blue Silver Emperor murmured to herself. She knew the method to make the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb acknowledge its master. However, it was precisely because she knew the process that a trace of hesitation lingered in her heart.
To make the herb acknowledge its master, one had to think of their beloved with utmost sincerity and devotion, then sprinkle their blood on its petals. Any hint of doubt or distraction would render the process futile. The herb was indeed a priceless treasure, but its conditions for acknowledgment were exceedingly strict.
The Blue Silver Emperor couldn't help but think of her true identity. As she gazed at Lin Yongming, a sudden fear gripped her heart. She feared that if he ever discovered her true nature, he might leave her.
"What should I do? With my current state of mind, there's no way I can make the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb acknowledge me," she thought, her heart heavy with conflict.
"Why is A'yin hesitating? Does she have some reservations, or is she lacking confidence in making the herb acknowledge her?" Lin Yongming wondered as he noticed her prolonged silence. Logically, there shouldn't be any issues.
"Xiao Ming," the Blue Silver Emperor suddenly spoke softly.
"A'yin, what's wrong?" Lin Yongming responded.
"If one day you discover that I've been hiding a secret from you, will you blame me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lin Yongming was momentarily stunned. "So, she does have some reservations," he thought.
He then sat back down beside her and spoke gently, "You don't need to worry about anything. Everyone has their own private secrets. Believe in yourself, and believe that I will understand."
"No, you won't understand. I'm afraid that once you know this secret, you'll leave me," the Blue Silver Emperor replied urgently.
"A'yin, no matter what happens in the future, I will always be by your side. I will protect you with my life. So, please, believe in yourself, okay?" Lin Yongming said, then leaned in and gently kissed her forehead.
"Xiao Ming!" The Blue Silver Emperor's eyes welled up with tears of gratitude. She nodded firmly. "I understand."
"You can do it, A'yin. I believe in you," Lin Yongming encouraged her once more.
Hearing his words, the Blue Silver Emperor cast aside her doubts. The shadow that had been looming over her heart dissipated, replaced by a newfound determination.
With a resolute expression, she bit her index finger, drawing a drop of blood, which she let fall onto the petals of the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb. The blood was absorbed into the flower.
"Xiao Ming, I love you," she whispered silently, her lips moving without sound. She then closed her eyes, holding the herb gently.
"It's beginning," Lin Yongming thought, nodding to himself.
Soon, he felt a surge of spiritual energy emanating from the herb, so powerful that it pushed him back slightly. A faint red light began to glow from the flower's stamen, enveloping the Blue Silver Emperor in a soft, crimson aura.
Lin Yongming heard a faint click as the stone at the base of the herb's stem fell to the ground. The entire flower floated in the air before the Blue Silver Emperor.
"This is truly miraculous," Lin Yongming thought, continuing to observe the changes.
Before long, the red light surrounding the Blue Silver Emperor began to merge into her body. The Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb, now like a living spirit, floated gently into her left hand.
"It's done!" Lin Yongming smiled.
At that moment, the Blue Silver Emperor opened her beautiful eyes, holding the herb in her hand.
"Xiao Ming, I succeeded! Thank you, thank you for your encouragement," she said, her face lighting up with a childlike smile as she approached him.
"Really? That's amazing, A'yin! You're incredible," Lin Yongming said, genuinely happy for her. "But how are you going to thank me?"
"What do you want me to do to thank you?" she asked with a smile.
"How about a kiss?" Lin Yongming teased.
"You've grown so bold, Xiao Ming! But since I'm in a good mood today, I'll indulge you," she replied, her cheeks flushing slightly. However, seeing the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb in her hand, she didn't refuse.
"Really? I want a kiss on the lips," Lin Yongming pressed.
"In your dreams!" she said, then quickly pecked his cheek. "There, my thanks have been given."
"That's it? That was barely a touch!" Lin Yongming protested, pretending to be disappointed. "A'yin, one more time, please?"
"What else do you want?" she asked, rolling her eyes.
"How about the other cheek?" he suggested shamelessly.
"You're impossible! Fine, one last time," she said, leaning in to kiss his other cheek.
But this time, Lin Yongming suddenly pulled her into his arms, holding her close.
"A'yin, you smell so good. It's like the fragrance of the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb," he whispered.
"W-what are you talking about?" she stammered, but before she could finish, Lin Yongming kissed her.
When they finally broke apart, the Blue Silver Emperor's face was flushed.
"You're so mischievous!" she said, lightly hitting his shoulder. "You've become so bold."
"A'yin, don't you like it?" Lin Yongming asked softly.
"I… I do," she whispered.
"What? I didn't hear that," he teased.
"If you didn't hear it, then forget it!" she huffed, quickly sitting back down by the fire.
"Alright, I was just joking," Lin Yongming said, sitting beside her.
"A'yin, now that the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb has acknowledged you, what do you plan to do with it? Will you consume it or keep it with you?" he asked seriously.
"Why would I keep it? Of course, I'll absorb its unparalleled medicinal power," she replied.
"But I feel like this herb has a certain sentience. Maybe you should keep it with you. It'd be a shame to consume it, especially since it's the only one of its kind in the world," Lin Yongming suggested.
In his heart, he hoped that by keeping the herb with her, it would help conceal her spirit beast aura, allowing her to travel with him to various cities without fear of detection.
"Xiao Ming, don't worry. Even if this herb is gone, as long as the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well exists, a new Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb will eventually grow. The same goes for the two herbs you consumed, the Octagonal Ice Crystal and the Fire Yang Blossom. In a few years, new ones will appear."
"I've told you before, the plants around the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well grow at an accelerated rate. One year here is equivalent to a hundred years outside, if not more."
"If I don't consume this herb, a new one will never grow. Just like how there can't be two emperors at the same time, the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well can only produce one unique immortal herb at a time. That's why all the herbs here are one-of-a-kind."
"Most importantly, I have a feeling that absorbing this herb will bring about an unexpected transformation in me, a complete metamorphosis," the Blue Silver Emperor explained patiently.
Lin Yongming was left speechless. He couldn't argue with her knowledge of immortal herbs, which far surpassed his own.
"If that's the case, then I won't stop you. Go ahead and absorb its power. I'll stand guard for you," he finally said.
"Thank you, Xiao Ming," she replied with a nod.
"Don't be so formal with me. You deserve a light tap for that," Lin Yongming said, gently tapping her head.
"I'll settle this with you later," she said, giving him a playful glare. She then walked to the cave entrance, retrieved a cushion from their tent, and placed it on the ground. Sitting cross-legged on the cushion, she began the process.
She plucked a petal from the herb and placed it in her mouth, repeating the process until all the petals were consumed. Finally, she swallowed the stamen, leaving only the stem behind, as the essence of the Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb lay in its petals and stamen.
Soon, the red light enveloped her once more, and she entered a state of deep concentration, fully focused on absorbing the herb's immense medicinal power.
"I wonder if A'yin's choice is for the best," Lin Yongming thought, feeling a bit uncertain.
But for now, all he could do was guard her diligently. Fortunately, the valley was quiet, with no humans or spirit beasts to disturb them.
The hours passed silently. By midnight, Lin Yongming hadn't felt the need to eat, his attention entirely focused on the Blue Silver Emperor's transformation.
At first, there were no noticeable changes. But as time went on, her aura began to grow stronger. Lin Yongming could clearly sense the surrounding spiritual energy converging into her body.
After nearly six hours, her aura had surpassed that of a Spirit King, even stronger than Tang Hao's when they had last met.
Another hour passed, and her aura finally stabilized, gradually returning to calm.
"It should be over now," Lin Yongming thought, breathing a sigh of relief.
But just as he relaxed, a sudden surge of immense spiritual energy erupted from the Blue Silver Emperor. The surrounding spiritual energy gathered around her once more.
"What's happening? Such a powerful surge of energy—could something have gone wrong?" Lin Yongming's heart raced as he quickly stood up and moved closer, carefully observing her condition.
He didn't dare interrupt her, unsure of the consequences. All he could do was watch anxiously, his heart pounding.
Soon, a hazy ring of spiritual energy began to form around her, gradually solidifying into a black ring with intricate patterns, resembling a spirit ring.
"Is she… forming her own spirit ring?" Lin Yongming thought, his tension easing slightly.
If he could see, he would have noticed that the black ring was also dotted with faint red specks.
"Huh? It's even giving me a fifth spirit ring," the Blue Silver Emperor thought, equally surprised.
The Lovesick Crimson Immortal Herb, having grown by the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well for so long, was akin to a unique plant spirit beast. As her spirit power reached the threshold of the fiftieth rank, it had formed a spirit ring specifically for her.
Lin Yongming waited another hour until the fifth spirit ring fully materialized and merged into her body. Finally, everything calmed down.
The Blue Silver Emperor opened her eyes, and in that moment, her gaze radiated an aura of majesty and nobility. Her already stunning beauty now carried an air of divinity, as if she were a goddess—untouchable and revered.
This transformation wasn't superficial; it seemed to stem from a fundamental change in her very essence.
"A'yin! Are you awake? Why aren't you saying anything? Is something wrong with your body?" Lin Yongming asked anxiously.
"Xiao Ming, you're right. There is something different about my body," she replied seriously.
"What is it? Let me see," he said, stepping closer in concern.
"Don't worry, it's not a bad change. It seems my spirit has… evolved," she said, her voice filled with awe.
"Your spirit evolved? But your variant Blue Silver Grass spirit was already a top-tier spirit. What level is it now?" Lin Yongming asked, pretending not to understand.
"That's right. My spirit has ascended to the level of a divine spirit," she said, still in disbelief.
She released her spirit, and the golden Blue Silver Grass now bore intricate patterns on its leaves and stems, resembling the runes found on spirit rings. This indicated that her spirit had transcended to a divine level, meaning she could eventually ascend to godhood with proper cultivation.
Moreover, her spirit beast aura had completely vanished, replaced by a faint divine aura.
"And I've awakened a spirit domain—Forest of Ten Thousand Phenomena. Before, I could only control Blue Silver Grass, but now I can command all plants within my domain, using them to replenish my energy. In battle, it can suppress my enemies' attributes by twenty percent."
"With my current spirit power at the fifty-fifth rank, I can easily handle opponents below the Spirit Sage level. In a forest, I wouldn't even fear a Spirit Sage. If I were to face the Mad Tiger Spirit Sage now, I could outlast him in a battle of attrition," she explained.
"You're the real protagonist, aren't you?" Lin Yongming said, genuinely shocked.
"Huh? What do you mean?" she asked, confused.
"I mean, you're the chosen one. With abilities like these, I can't even compare," he said, still in awe.
If what she said was true, her spirit abilities were now on par with Tang San's Blue Silver Grass at the Titled Douluo level. Once she reached the Spirit Sage level, she might even rival Titled Douluos. The thought was both thrilling and terrifying.
Indeed, the Blue Silver Emperor's pure bloodline had allowed her to ascend to new heights with just the right opportunity.
The only question remaining was whether her spirit beast aura had truly been erased. For now, Lin Yongming could only wait and see.
