Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Ginyu Returns to the Frieza Force

Slurp, slurp.

The smaller figure took two steps forward. "Levos, you're not aware of the current state of the Frieza Force, are you?"

Levos really didn't know the present situation of the Frieza Force. But what stumped him most was how his carefully crafted lie had been instantly exposed!

From the very moment he heard that eerily familiar voice, he had a sinking suspicion about who his opponent was. And after their brief exchange of blows, he was certain it was Frieza!

The fact that Frieza was still alive was shocking enough. But what truly chilled Levos to the core was that Frieza's father, King Cold, was alive too.

How could he not feel fear?

By his understanding, an android's power should have been more than enough to utterly crush the father and son duo standing before him. But reality hit hard. Their speed, their strike strength… these two were clearly overpowering him by a wide margin.

Could it be that they had spent years training?

Either way, Levos knew he was no match for them right now.

"Frieza and King Cold, weren't you both dead? Why are you here now?"

Levos's voice was calm, his tone steady, showing not even a hint of panic.

"Oh ho ho ho, so you've figured out who we are. That's why you came up with such a laughable excuse to win our trust," Frieza sneered, his eyes gleaming with malice.

"We're alive thanks to that wretched Saiyan, Son Goku. His pathetic mercy disgusts me!" Frieza's expression darkened as he wore a cruel, bloodthirsty grin. "After he and his father defeated us, he foolishly spared the lives of our remaining soldiers."

King Cold snorted. "Son Goku, that idiot Saiyan, had strength but lacked the resolve! He could never have imagined the resilience of our lineage. Our loyal soldiers soon found our critically wounded bodies and brought us back to our home base for treatment."

"But I didn't expect that, despite Frieza Force's advanced technology, it would take over twenty years to fully heal our supposedly fatal injuries."

"When we finally awoke, we found the vast galactic empire we once ruled in complete ruin," King Cold's voice grew manic, his ambition burning in his eyes. "But give us a little time, and we will reign over the entire universe once more!"

"Everything we lost, we will reclaim."

"We don't feel even an ounce of gratitude for Son Goku's mercy. We intended to seek revenge, but we found that his bloodline had already been completely wiped out!"

"Over the past year, as we've monitored Earth, we happened to track down a former member of the Frieza Force, which is why we came here."

So that's it! It all made sense to Levos now.

He couldn't help but sigh at Son Goku's boundless kindness defeating his enemies yet failing to finish the job.

He was nothing like Future Trunks, who would have decisively turned their bones to dust.

That one lapse of judgment was exactly what caused the fatal flaw in Levos's lie, he had claimed to be searching for a way to resurrect Frieza and King Cold.

But the truth was they had never actually died. They had been on the brink of death for over twenty years, but they didn't need resurrection!

He truly hadn't expected this!

This timeline was a complete disaster.

The threat of Babidi wasn't even resolved yet, and now a pair of galactic emperors had appeared. And from what he heard from Merus, both Moro and Broly were wreaking havoc in other parts of the universe.

Why was Earth always the epicenter of every catastrophe?

And Frieza and King Cold's appearance here definitely wasn't random.

Their true target… could it really be Ginyu?

But then again, Levos thought, would two powerhouses of their level personally come all this way to Earth just for Ginyu?

There had to be something more to this.

"Levos, we've answered your questions. Now it's your turn to explain things to us," Frieza said, crossing his arms as he casually leaned against a nearby wall.

"Wait. Do you have Captain Ginyu with you?" Levos pressed.

"That's right. Now I'm even more curious about your true identity, Levos. I hope your explanation won't disappoint me."

Frieza raised a finger and fired an energy ball into the sky.

In an instant, the night sky over West City was illuminated as if it were daytime.

Bathed in this sudden brightness, Levos spotted a blue frog dancing around in the distance.

"Ginyu!"

Levos's heart sank his entire mission had failed.

Ginyu had already fallen into their hands, and there was nothing Levos could do to change that.

Worse yet, he was now trapped in a perilous situation himself.

Still, among all the Dragon Ball villains, Frieza and his father were actually the type that could be negotiated with.

They weren't like those lunatic villains who would destroy planets on a whim for no reason.

Levos's mind raced as he took a deep breath and said, "I'm not an ordinary human. I'm actually an android developed by the Red Ribbon Army specifically to defeat Son Goku."

Frieza snorted. "No wonder your strength far surpasses other Earthlings."

Levos continued, "When the Red Ribbon Army was destroyed by Son Goku, we've always sought revenge."

"But unfortunately, he died of illness before my development was complete..." Levos gritted his teeth and added, "I despised him just as much as you did. Among us, he was commonly called 'Trashrot' and 'Dogku.'"

Frieza frowned. "Trash?"

Levos nodded. "Yes, Trash! If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have wasted decades searching for a way to defeat him. The Red Ribbon Army could have ruled this planet much earlier."

"In fact, when you and your father first came to Earth, we had even considered forming an alliance with you."

Hearing this, Frieza raised his brow slightly.

As a seasoned ruler, Frieza's mind worked very differently from that of an average person.

He immediately focused on the key points, refusing to be led astray by Levos's words.

Thanks to the surveillance data they had collected over the past year, Frieza already had a much deeper understanding of Earth than Levos assumed.

Frieza's cold, skeptical voice cut in, "Your organization managed to create such a powerful warrior like you in just a few decades?"

Levos quickly explained, "It was the culmination of the Red Ribbon Army's lifetime of research. I'm not the only super warrior they developed."

Frieza narrowed his eyes. "So your ambition was to conquer this planet… or even the entire universe?"

Levos immediately waved his hands. "No, no! You misunderstood! We no longer have the power to achieve that. Especially after learning that you and your father are still alive."

"Right now, we face a more pressing threat Babidi plans to destroy Earth after tomorrow's martial arts tournament. I came here to find a way to save this planet."

To make a lie believable, you must blend seven parts truth with three parts falsehood.

Frieza and King Cold both fell silent, each lost in thought.
