Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Frieza’s Invitation
Frieza smirked, letting out a cold, disdainful laugh. "Destroy Earth? Just Babidi and that lackey Dabura? Pathetic."
King Cold patted Frieza's shoulder with his massive hand, his expression full of fatherly pride. "If it weren't for your plans, I would've crushed that ugly little runt who dares to claim he'll rule the universe."
Frieza casually brushed off King Cold's hand and curled his lips into an icy grin. "This time, Father, just sit back and enjoy the show. I'll make sure the name of the Emperor of the Universe once again echoes from Earth to every corner of the cosmos!"
The father and son duo didn't seem to regard Dabura as a threat at all.
Judging by their attitude, they must have gone through some intense training after their recovery.
Levos blinked. He sensed… an opportunity.
"But Lord Frieza, Lord Cold," Levos quickly added, as if anxious, "Babidi also has a loyal servant named Majin Buu! I've heard that Majin Buu's strength is terrifying. He can absorb others and make them part of himself even gods have fallen to him! No one can defeat him…"
Frieza waved dismissively, cutting him off. "I know Majin Buu's strength better than you do. Father warned me about him long ago."
"You think we came unprepared? My current power is nowhere near what it was when I first came to Earth."
"If I were to fully unleash my strength now… I'm afraid this little planet wouldn't last a second! Oh ho ho ho ho…"
Just the release of his energy would tear Earth apart? Yeah, right. That sounded like pure bragging to Levos.
But Frieza was undoubtedly a genius.
It only took him four months of training in the original story to reach his Golden Form, a power comparable to Super Saiyan Blue.
From the perspective of Saiyan transformations, that leap spanned several stages: from Super Saiyan 1, to Super Saiyan 3, to Super Saiyan God, and beyond!
As for this Frieza in the current timeline, who knew how long he had been training? His experience was an even bigger mystery.
Levos suddenly realized that this world's progression had completely veered off from what he remembered.
His transmigration advantage was shrinking fast.
The only thing he could do now was keep fanning the flames, pushing Frieza and King Cold to focus all their attention on Majin Buu.
"But… Majin Buu has unlimited regeneration. Even if a single cell survives, he can come back to life…"
King Cold clearly didn't want to listen to Levos's nonsense anymore. His voice was filled with absolute confidence. "You can always count on Frieza's talent when it comes to battle. And besides, there's someone among us whose potential surpasses even his."
Someone with more talent than Frieza?
Levos instantly thought of Cooler!
Frieza's older brother, with an extra transformation stage.
In the Return of Cooler movie, the countless Meta-Coolers had left a deep impression on Levos.
In both movie appearances, Cooler wasn't technically defeated in direct combat he was a victim of plot devices.
His fourth form was blasted into the sun, and Meta-Cooler exploded only because he overloaded after absorbing Saiyan energy, causing the entire Big Gete Star to self-destruct.
"Majin Buu is ultimately just a chess piece for us to play with," King Cold said with a satisfied grin.
A chess piece?Levos immediately connected the dots.
He got it now.
These two weren't just aiming to fight Majin Buu, they wanted to use Ginyu to control him!
At that moment, a sense of helplessness welled up inside Levos.
"Levos, you're the strongest human I've encountered on Earth. May I have the honor of inviting you to join my army?" Frieza said, hands behind his back, leaning slightly forward with an elegant invitation.
The Emperor really was a man who appreciated talent.
Levos seriously considered the possibility of joining Frieza's real estate… ahem… galactic conquest business.
Having a powerful backer would certainly keep him alive.
He could travel the universe, conquer planets, enjoy the thrill of battle, and eventually become a ruler feared by all.
Honestly… that didn't sound bad at all.
But… what about Earth?
That question tugged at him, and Levos blurted out, "What about Earth's fate?"
"Earth is quite a fine planet," Frieza admitted, smiling. "Father and I actually solved our long-standing energy suppression issue by studying the planet's historical data."
"But I must apologize, Levos."
"That planet holds… extremely unpleasant memories for me. Father and I have already decided to destroy it as soon as we're done here."
After transmigrating to Dragon Ball's Earth, Levos developed a much deeper connection to the idea of 'home.'
A transmigrator was, by nature, a lonely existence adrift in the vast universe, with no true place to return to.
This planet, sharing the same name as his original home, had become his emotional anchor.
He was an Earthling.Standing on this soil gave him a sense of belonging.
And more importantly, there were many things and people on Earth he cherished and could never bear to lose.
How could he possibly let someone else destroy it?
So joining the villain's side… was definitely not the right path.
In his heart, Levos had already made his decision. But on the surface, he feigned hesitation.
"Couldn't Earth simply become part of your army's territory? After all, my organization would love to serve under your banner."
Frieza narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone polite but his words ice-cold. "Levos, watching Earth's grand finale up close its beautiful fireworks display is what I'm looking forward to the most. Oh ho ho ho…"
King Cold, with a confident smile, chimed in, "If your comrades have power comparable to yours, we'd be more than happy to welcome them into our ranks."
"You won't have to worry about being homeless once Earth is gone. There are plenty of planets far better than Earth you can pick whichever one you like as your new base."
Levos was already formulating an escape plan in his head, though on the surface, he showed reluctant struggle. After a moment of pretending to weigh his options, he finally bit his lip and said, "Alright. I just hope the new planet will be even more livable than Earth, Lord Cold."
King Cold's smile deepened. "Levos, you truly are a wise man."
"Ribbit, ribbit!"The blue-skinned frog hopped to Levos's side, waving its little paw and croaking loudly.
Frieza chuckled. "It seems Captain Ginyu can't wait to finally get himself a new body."
Tch! I was worried sick about you before, you little bastard!
Levos was fuming.
For a split second, he seriously considered turning around and vaporizing Ginyu on the spot, just to vent his frustration and foil the father and son's scheme.
But after thinking it through, he knew it would be too risky.
If he made a move now, he would instantly sever any chance of diplomacy with the Frieza family and based on the strength they had shown earlier, it would be nearly impossible to escape.
Besides, from their words… it seemed like they were still hiding a trump card.
There was a real chance they had already achieved the Golden Form.
It was even possible that they had unlocked the Black Form too.
A wise man knows when to advance and when to retreat.
Sometimes… bending is the only way to survive!
