Chapter 7: Chapter 7
The next moment.
King Vegeta's every attack froze mid-motion. His eyes were bloodshot, his hands instinctively clutching his abdomen as he muttered under his breath.
"Impossible!"
"This… can't be… ugh!"
Thud!
King Vegeta collapsed to the ground, unconscious, his body twitching involuntarily. His raised posterior presented an oddly familiar and laughable sight.
Saigo chuckled faintly, "No one's ever made such a request to me before. You're the first!"
Not wanting to waste time, Saigo squatted down and firmly slapped King Vegeta's face.
Slap! Slap!
"Hey! Wake up! Don't fall asleep on me! Hey!"
Still no response?
Saigo continued slapping.
Slap! Slap! Slap!
"Tch. This guy's face is as thick as armor. My hand hurts!"
Seeing no signs of King Vegeta regaining consciousness, Saigo raised his hand for an even harder slap.
To his surprise, King Vegeta stirred and slowly woke up.
Saigo regretfully lowered his hand and stood up.
Cough, cough! "Hiss—"
King Vegeta winced as waves of intense pain radiated from his abdomen, accompanied by a burning sensation on his face. Clutching his stomach with one hand and rubbing his fiery cheek with the other, he looked utterly defeated.
Saigo urged impatiently, "Alright, you're not dead, so get up already. You wouldn't want your subordinates seeing you like this, would you?"
The excruciating pain dulled King Vegeta's thoughts, but hearing Saigo's words, he immediately struggled to his feet, trembling and wary, casting Saigo a cautious glance.
Realizing his defeat, his expression turned to one of despair and despondency.
"I… I can relinquish the Saiyan throne. Just spare my life!" King Vegeta pleaded hopelessly, his fighting spirit completely extinguished.
Saigo sneered, "King Vegeta, you've disappointed me greatly. Facing only this minor setback, you've already lost the courage to fight? With an attitude like this, how could you possibly lead the Saiyans to rebel against Frieza? How could you ever lead the Saiyans to glory?"
King Vegeta's face filled with disbelief as he stammered in panic, "Y-you… How do you know about our plans to rebel against Frieza? W-who told you? Who are you?"
The survival of the Saiyan race was at stake, and King Vegeta momentarily forgot his dire situation, his panic giving way to a demanding tone.
He was convinced that his secret plan was impossible to leak. Only his most trusted confidants were aware of it.
The rebellion against Frieza was a plan known to barely anyone on Planet Vegeta. Among those who knew the specifics, the number could be counted on one hand.
As for Saigo, a newly bred Saiyan, there was no way he could have access to such classified information.
"Don't be so tense. How I know this… well, you might find it hard to believe. Most people would call it an absurd lie. But no, your plan wasn't leaked. Do you still want to hear the answer?" Saigo replied nonchalantly.
Hearing this, King Vegeta sighed in relief. If the plan wasn't leaked, how did Saigo know about it?
Difficult to believe?
What could it be? And how was his power so overwhelming?
Could he be… the legendary Super Saiyan?
Plagued by questions, King Vegeta lowered his voice and asked, "Please, tell me… so I can die with clarity."
Saigo chuckled, "Relax. Your life still has some use." He cast a mocking glance at the despairing King Vegeta before floating leisurely to the throne. Sitting down, he continued, "Have you ever heard of the Super Saiyan God?"
King Vegeta's heart raced with relief at Saigo's earlier words, but upon hearing the question, he froze.
"Super Saiyan God?"
"Super Saiyan God?"
He muttered the phrase repeatedly, but it stirred no recollection.
"Super Saiyan God… I've never heard of it! The Saiyans only have one legend: the Legendary Super Saiyan!"
"Wait… are you talking about the Legendary Super Saiyan?"
"Y-you… You're not saying that you're the Legendary Super Saiyan, are you?"
The thought that Saigo might indeed be the Legendary Super Saiyan made King Vegeta reevaluate everything that had just happened, and it all seemed to add up.
His expression shifted rapidly—from astonishment to excitement, then regret, and finally despair.
Watching King Vegeta's emotional performance, Saigo sighed, "Unfortunately, I'm not the Legendary Super Saiyan. But in the future, I can become one!"
"What?!"
King Vegeta was utterly shocked, his eyes wide as saucers. Not being the Legendary Super Saiyan but still being able to become one?
What kind of nonsense was this?
Could an ordinary Saiyan become the Legendary Super Saiyan?
Impossible!
"You didn't mishear. In theory, every Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan! But certain prerequisites are required, which I won't go into now," Saigo explained further. "What I can confirm is that the Legendary Super Saiyan, the Super Saiyan, and the Super Saiyan God all truly existed. However, much has been lost to the Saiyan race over time!"
"The reason I possess my current power is that the Super Saiyan God appeared to me in a dream during my incubation period. In that dream, the Super Saiyan God taught me many things, including how to enhance my combat power!"
"That's why I've been able to increase my power to a level you can't compete with in just two months!"
King Vegeta listened in disbelief, his face alternating between pale and flushed. His eyes bulged as if they would pop out, and his jaw dropped, unable to close.
His body trembled uncontrollably, and he took several steps back.
His gaze was filled with shock and denial, unable to process the reality of what he had just heard.
Perhaps Saigo's revelations shattered his expectations or clashed profoundly with his beliefs.
This abrupt upheaval in his understanding plunged him into chaos, leaving his thoughts muddled.
Saiyans had such a hidden legacy?!
Why had he never heard of it?
Was it because their heritage was severed?!
What had happened to their ancestors?
Why had the so-called Super Saiyan God chosen Saigo as a dream recipient?
These questions plagued King Vegeta.
After a long silence, King Vegeta finally regained his composure. His expression was complex as he gazed at Saigo for several moments.
Then, with a hint of relief mixed with hope, he decisively dropped to one knee and said respectfully, "I, Vegeta the Third, pledge allegiance to King Saigo!"
"Please, King Saigo, save the Saiyan race and lead us to dominate the universe!"
King Vegeta's quick submission caught Saigo off guard.
After all, prior simulations had only mentioned this vaguely without detailing it.
Still, being addressed as "King" felt undeniably great!
"Rise. Until Frieza is dealt with, you're still the Saiyan King in name. Understand?" Saigo scolded. "And stop babbling about dominating the universe. Frieza's clan isn't the only powerful force out there!"
"Have you already forgotten about those two individuals stronger than Frieza who once visited Planet Vegeta?"
"If I'm not mistaken, you were stepped on like a bug back then, weren't you?"
