Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Zombies Are Just Trash
Goku curiously looked towards the door as he heard the sound of hurried footsteps approaching. Soon, two familiar figures appeared at the entrance. His eyes lit up instantly.
"Saeko Busujima! Rei Miyamoto! I didn't expect both of them to show up at the same time. Wahaha~! The four girls in my dream team are finally all here. Looks like it's time to leave this place… But wait, why isn't Takashi Komuro with them?"
"Sa… Saya!"
As soon as Rei saw Saya, she ran over and hugged her tightly.
"Saya… Hisashi is dead… Takashi is dead too… What should I do? What should I do?"
Rei, who had only just managed to calm down, broke down again when she saw a familiar face. Her eyes were filled with pain and helplessness.
"What? Takashi… he's… he's dead?" Saya was stunned by the sudden news. "This morning he was fine! What happened?"
It turned out that, without Takashi's early warning like in the original story, chaos erupted in the school when the zombie outbreak started. Hisashi's fate was even more tragic—he wasn't bitten by a zombie but was instead pushed off a building in the chaos and died from the fall. (I know it's a bit unrealistic, but just trust me on this one!)
As for Takashi, he was trying to protect Rei when he was shoved down the stairs by the panicked crowd. He was immediately torn apart by the zombies waiting below.
Heartbroken and hopeless, Rei had initially intended to end her life. However, she was saved just in time by Saeko. After some comforting words, Rei's emotions stabilized somewhat. Then, upon hearing Saya's scream, she and Saeko had rushed over here…
Well, this butterfly effect was certainly unexpected.
Goku had originally considered Takashi his biggest obstacle in winning over Rei. He had even been thinking about finding an opportunity to eliminate him. But to his surprise, the guy had already died on his own!
"That really saves me time and effort," Goku thought to himself.
Looking at the two girls sobbing uncontrollably, Goku gently patted their shoulders and spoke in a soft voice:
"Stay strong. The apocalypse is here. Death is inevitable—not just in this school, but across the entire world. The whole world is now overrun with zombies. If you want to survive, you have to be strong. The people around you could die at any moment…"
The girls in the room were all stunned.
"The whole world… How… how is that possible?"
Saeko looked at Goku with a sharp gaze. "You seem to know something we don't."
"I'm not from this school," Goku explained. "Before I arrived, the streets outside were already crawling with zombies. Calling for help or waiting for rescue is pointless. The only ones who can protect us now are ourselves. That's why we need to stick together. Our chances of survival will be much higher that way."
"So things have already escalated to this point?" Saeko frowned.
"That's why you have two choices. One: We fight our way out and find a safe place to settle down. Two: We check on our families first. If necessary, we bring them with us, and then we find a safe place."
After some discussion, the group decided to follow the same course of action as in the original story—they would first confirm their families' safety before looking for a secure place to stay.
"In that case, Saeko and Rei, you two cover the rear. I'll take the lead. Let's move out!" Goku shouted with enthusiasm as he led five girls into battle.
---
"By the way, where's the key to that bus on the field?" Goku asked after taking down a zombie.
"It's in the clubroom," Saeko replied.
"Lead the way."
Arriving at the clubroom, Saeko retrieved a set of keys from the wall. "This is it."
"You keep them… Alright, ladies! Let's move out! Destination: The bus on the field!"
With Goku, a complete monster, leading the charge, there was no pressure at all.
"Help… Help!"
At that moment, a dozen students came running from the far end of the hallway, pursued by a horde of zombies.
"Run! The zombies are catching up!" A male teacher at the back urged them desperately.
Saeko narrowed her eyes. "That's Mr. Shido from Class 3-A."
"Shido…" Rei clenched her fists, her face filled with hatred.
Suddenly, a boy tripped and fell. He looked at the approaching zombies in terror and reached out to Shido for help.
"Teacher… save me…"
Shido walked over slowly. Just when the boy's face lit up with hope, Shido kicked him hard in the chest.
"Why… Mr. Shido…?" The boy clutched his chest in pain, his face filled with disbelief. "Didn't you say… you'd safely lead us out of here? Why…?"
Shido adjusted his glasses, his face twisted with cruelty.
"I needed someone to buy us some time… Since you fell behind, that someone is you."
With that, he kicked the boy a few more times before turning to flee, leaving the student to be consumed by the zombie horde. His desperate screams echoed through the hallway. But those running ahead were only concerned with their own survival—none of them looked back.
None except for Goku and his group.
"What a scumbag!" The five girls were furious.
Goku smashed a nearby zombie with his staff, his eyes flashing with killing intent. He had already hated Shido when watching the anime, and now, seeing this in real life, he despised him even more.
"If I've run into you, then you'd better be prepared to die."
"Move! Get out of the way!" The students ran closer. A blond-haired delinquent sneered at Goku's group.
The girls frowned but stepped aside. Only Goku remained standing in the middle of the hallway, calmly watching the approaching students.
The smarter ones avoided him, but the blond punk stopped next to him and smirked.
"Didn't you hear me, you bastard? I said get out of my way!" He threw a punch at Goku.
Goku casually kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying into the wall. He collapsed limply to the floor.
"Trash." Goku spat on him dismissively.
Seeing Goku's strength, Shido's eyes gleamed with interest. But when he saw the beautiful girls behind him, his interest turned into greed.
"Student, I'm Mr. Shido from Class 3-A. You all seem quite skilled. Why don't you join me? As a teacher, I promise to keep my students safe."
"Keep my ass safe, you disgusting piece of shit!"
Goku grabbed Shido by the neck and lifted him off the ground.
"I've seen plenty of scum in my life, but you? You're on another level."
As Shido struggled in fear, Goku casually hurled him off the third-floor balcony.
"AAAAAHHHH!"
A terrified scream echoed through the air. Moments later—Splat! Silence.
The remaining students paled in horror, but none dared to say a word.
The girls were stunned, but instead of condemning Goku, they felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
Rei, in particular, was overjoyed. "Well done, Goku! That scumbag should've died long ago!"
Goku grinned, then turned to the remaining students.
"Alright, the trash has been taken out. Are you guys coming with us?"
Terrified, they scattered like frightened rabbits.
"Tch, a bunch of cowards." Goku scoffed.
He turned to the girls. "Let's move."
And with that, he led them toward the next staircase, heading for the bus.
On the first floor, they looked at the countless zombies roaming the hall. Goku slung his "Power Pole" (which was actually just a mop handle) over his shoulder with an air of confidence. "I'll draw the zombies' attention while you all take the chance to run out."
"That's too risky. From my observations, these zombies seem to react strongly to sound. If we're careful and stay quiet, we should be able to slip past them… But this is just my hypothesis. Someone will have to test it first," Saya said as she adjusted her glasses. Since her contact lenses were no longer usable, she had switched to wearing glasses.
Saeko looked at the zombies in the hall. "I'll do it—"
"No need to make it so complicated. These zombies are nothing but trash. Piece of cake!" Wanting to show off in front of the girls, Goku decided to take action. Ignoring their protests, he confidently strode into the hall.
"This… This idiot is way too reckless!" Saya was so frustrated that her face turned red.
"Let's just watch and see. If he dares to boast like that, he must be confident in his abilities," Saeko said calmly, already having a good understanding of Goku's strength.
However, as they watched Goku walk into the hall and start swinging his mop handle wildly at the surrounding zombies, instantly attracting a horde, the five girls were finally startled.
"Is his brain broken?! Why is he being so reckless? If he wanted to lure the zombies away, he should've at least run further!" Hayashi was both furious and worried.
"Ara~ Goku is surrounded by zombies now. We should hurry up and save him…" Shizuka said anxiously.
At this moment, Goku was completely encircled—layers upon layers of zombies surrounded him, making it difficult for him to swing his "Power Pole" freely. Shizuka's face filled with worry.
Just as Saeko and Rei were about to step in and rescue him, a furious roar echoed through the hall.
"You fucking kidding me?! You think I'm weak just because I haven't shown my strength?!"
With that, Goku tossed his mop handle aside and started kicking the zombies away like soccer balls.
One after another, zombies were sent flying through the air, crashing into walls and tumbling to the ground. The five girls were utterly dumbfounded.
"He's… he's incredible…"
"I already knew he was strong, but I didn't expect him to be this strong…" Saeko's eyes sparkled with excitement.
Seeing that Goku had drawn all the zombies' attention, she immediately took action. "Now's our chance! Let's go!"
With that, she dashed out first, and the other girls quickly followed.
Saeko opened the bus door, and the girls rushed inside.
"Goku!" Saeko called from the doorway.
Seeing that all five girls had boarded, Goku let out a loud shout. A powerful shockwave burst from his body, sweeping across the area in an instant. The bus windows shattered, and zombies were blasted away in all directions, crashing through walls and turning the once pristine hall into a scene of destruction, dust and debris rising in the air.
As Goku ran towards them, casually swatting zombies aside with his hands, the girls were once again left speechless.
"This… is he even human…?" Rei murmured in a daze.
"This level of strength is a bit too ridiculous…" Even Saeko couldn't maintain her usual composure.
The moment Goku stepped onto the bus, Saeko shut the door. Suddenly, Shizuka tackled him onto a seat, her face filled with excitement.
"Goku, are you some kind of superhero? Did you get bitten by a radioactive spider? Or drink some kind of super serum?!"
But Goku was too overwhelmed by happiness to respond. Feeling the soft sensation against his face, he grinned smugly.
"Ahh~ this must be heaven… But why is it getting harder to breathe? Am I going to die happily like this?"
"Hey! Shizuka-sensei, are you trying to suffocate him?!" Hayashi couldn't stand watching anymore and pulled Shizuka off.
"Huff— finally, I can breathe again!" Goku gasped for air before looking at Shizuka with a serious expression. "Shizuka, if you ever want to hug me again, please don't block my nose.!"
"Ara~ sorry, I wasn't paying attention!" Shizuka apologized weakly, though she didn't seem very sincere.
The other girls rolled their eyes at Goku. This guy has no shame… What does he mean by 'next time'?
Seeing zombies swarming toward the bus, Goku immediately urged, "Shizuka, drive! The zombies are closing in!"
"Oh—o-okay!" Shizuka hurried to the driver's seat. "This is the handbrake… This is the gas pedal…"
Moments later, the bus roared to life and sped toward the school gates.
