Dragon Ball: Multiverse Travel

Chapter 3: The Chaos Begins

Tejima suddenly stood up, grabbed Hayashi by the collar, and lunged toward her neck with his mouth wide open...

"Ah!" Hayashi let out a terrified scream, her voice piercing the sky! However, the pain she expected never came. Instead, she felt a gust of wind by her ear, as if someone had pulled her into an embrace. Confused, she opened her eyes and instantly blushed—she found herself being held in a princess carry by a handsome young man. Feeling the strength of his arms and the firmness of his chest, along with his distinctly masculine scent, her face turned even redder, and her heartbeat quickened…

"Ah—!"

A sudden, blood-curdling scream snapped Hayashi out of her daze. She turned her head and her pupils shrank in shock. "W-What's happening?!"

Tejima had pinned the bald man to the ground, savagely biting into him. Meanwhile, another male teacher stood frozen in fear, his legs trembling uncontrollably. By the time he realized the danger, it was too late—both had already turned into zombies and lunged at him mercilessly…

"W-What's going on? Why are they turning into… this?"

Watching the once-dead male teachers rise again, Hayashi was filled with disbelief and terror. Goku could feel her body trembling.

"They've turned into zombies! There's no saving them now!" Goku gently set Hayashi down, picked up a nearby metal prong, and swung it effortlessly. The four approaching zombies were sent flying, their heads smashing against the iron gate, bursting like overripe melons.

Hayashi's eyes rolled back, and she fainted on the spot.

Goku caught her before she hit the ground and shook his head. "Wow, her nerves are really weak… No wonder she's just a side character." He glanced at the school's rooftop. "Wait… why isn't Takashi Komuro there? When the anime started, wasn't he supposed to be watching all of this unfold from the balcony? Could it be… that my appearance has caused a butterfly effect?"

Indeed, Goku was right. Because of his arrival, the timeline had shifted by more than half an hour. Right now, Takashi Komuro was still sitting in class, completely unaware of the chaos that had begun…

Goku pinched a pressure point on Hayashi's face and transferred a bit of 'ki' into her. Moments later, she groggily woke up. However, the moment she saw the carnage at the school gate, she turned her head and began retching.

Goku glanced at the growing horde of zombies outside and shrugged. "Looks like I really did change the course of the story… Heh, when I watched the anime, I don't remember seeing this many zombies surrounding the school."

He patted Hayashi's back. "Are you done throwing up? If so, we should leave now before things get any more troublesome."

Hayashi looked toward the school entrance and her face paled. "T-Those… are they really—"

"That's right. They're zombies. The world as we knew it is over. This is now an apocalyptic world, overrun by the undead. Humanity is on the brink of extinction."

"T-That's impossible…" Hayashi was still in disbelief. "Zombies… They're only supposed to exist in movies. Could it be… the Black Death from the 14th century is happening again?"

"Now's not the time for theories! We need to leave!" Goku cut her off, watching as the zombies relentlessly rammed into the iron gate, making it rattle loudly.

Terrified, Hayashi quickly clung to Goku's arm and hid behind him. "W-Where should we go?"

"Take me to the infirmary. We need a doctor with us." Of course, this was just an excuse. Goku's real goal was to 'recruit' Shizuka Marikawa.

"Okay! Follow me!" Hayashi, not suspecting a thing, immediately led the way toward the school clinic.

---

Inside the infirmary, Goku was momentarily stunned by the sight before him—a stunning, voluptuous woman stood before him.

"Damn… A bombshell like this really can only exist in the 2D world…"

"Eh? Hayashi? What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Shizuka asked with a clueless expression. Her innocent and slightly dazed look made Goku want to pounce on her…

Suppressing his excitement, Goku turned to her. "Grab some basic medical supplies. We're leaving—now."

Shizuka tilted her head in confusion. "Leaving? Where are we going? Is someone sick?"

"Just do as I say. I don't have time to explain!" Goku waved his hand impatiently, realizing there was no point in reasoning with this airhead.

Hayashi chimed in, "Dr. Marikawa, just pack your things first! We'll explain everything later!"

Although still confused, Shizuka obediently started gathering supplies.

Watching her move, Goku's eyes couldn't help but wander to certain… areas. "Damn, she's got a killer figure… This woman is seriously dangerous!"

"You like what you see?" Hayashi suddenly spoke up, noticing his lecherous gaze. For some reason, the sight of Goku ogling another woman made her uncomfortable. Maybe it was because he had saved her life, causing her to develop a strange attachment to him.

"Ahem!" Goku coughed awkwardly and looked away. His gaze landed on a mop in the corner of the room. His eyes lit up as he walked over, ripped off the mop head, and tested the length of the wooden handle.

"Perfect. This should do the trick." With this makeshift weapon, he could efficiently take down zombies while keeping his true strength hidden.

Before long, Shizuka had packed up. With both women in tow, Goku led the way out. The thought of the remaining female characters from the anime made him excited.

"Beautiful girls in danger? Sounds like a job for me!"

---

By now, the school had completely descended into chaos. Zombies were everywhere. The intercom had only broadcast a warning halfway before it was interrupted by terrified screams, and then… silence. Panic erupted across the campus, with students and teachers alike fleeing in all directions. In the midst of the mayhem, countless people fell victim to the growing horde.

Honestly, these zombies weren't that strong. They were slow and clumsy, and as long as one didn't let fear take over, they weren't much of a threat. However, for people who had lived in a peaceful world, even the sight of a dead body was frightening—let alone hordes of walking corpses. Fear had already taken hold of their hearts, paralyzing them. That was why the infection was spreading so fast.

With a casual swing of his staff, Goku crushed the skull of a zombie blocking his path. As he looked at the ever-growing horde, he couldn't help but exclaim, "Damn, this outbreak is spreading way too fast! The whole school's overrun already—this is some serious plot armor at work."

Shizuka, hiding behind him, looked at the zombies in confusion. "W-What's wrong with them? Why are they trying to bite us? Are they sick?"

Goku rolled his eyes. "Sick, my ass! They're zombies!"

"Zombies? Like in the movies?" Shizuka asked, still looking puzzled.

"Exactly. So don't let them bite you, or you'll end up just like them."

"Hmm… A disease that spreads through bites…" Shizuka bit her finger, lost in thought.

"Sounds like the Black Death from the 14th century," Hayashi muttered.

"Ah! Right! That's the one!" Shizuka clapped her hands in realization. "That plague wiped out a third of Europe!"

"I don't have time for your lectures right now. You'd better just stay behind me and follow my lead!" Goku was speechless at Shizuka's carefree attitude. Even in a life-threatening situation like this, she showed no sign of fear or tension. Was this what they called the bliss of an airhead?

After taking down a zombie nearby, something suddenly occurred to Goku. He turned to the woman beside him and asked, "By the way, I don't think I ever got your name?"

Hayashi was momentarily stunned before replying, "My name is Kyoko Hayashi . You can just call me Hayashi."

"I'm Shizuka Marikawa! The school nurse. You can call me Shizuka!" she eagerly interjected.

Goku nodded. "I'm Sun Goku, I came to Japan for vacation."

"Wow! You are a foreigner? I never expected your Japanese to be so fluent!" Shizuka looked at him in surprise.

Goku was momentarily taken aback as well. In the Dragon Ball world, people didn't speak Japanese (since he had traveled through a translated version of Dragon Ball). When had he even learned Japanese? This was completely unscientific! Could it be a perk of traveling between worlds? A built-in translation system? Whatever the case, it worked in his favor. At least it would make future dimensional travel a lot easier.

With two beautiful women in tow, Sun Wukong swung his staff at every zombie that came his way—partly to earn energy points, but also to show off in front of the ladies. After all, how could he ignore the admiring gazes they were giving him?

Realistically speaking, with his strength, rescuing everyone in this school wouldn't be difficult. But he never saw himself as some noble hero, nor was he particularly kind-hearted, so he wasn't about to bother.

Right now, what interested him the most was finding the four main heroines from the original story, building some relationships with them, and then taking them back to his own world.

The school was in utter chaos, with bloodcurdling screams echoing through the hallways.

Slashing his way forward with the two women by his side, Goku suddenly heard a male scream filled with agony, followed by a terrified shriek from a girl. Though he wasn't keen on meddling, the screams were too close to ignore. With a sigh, he changed course, leading the two women toward the storage room.

"Well, I might as well take a look. If it turns out to be a pretty girl, it wouldn't hurt to save her… hehe~~"

Near the entrance, three zombies were sluggishly making their way inside. Walking ahead, Goku swung his staff effortlessly, smashing the zombies' skulls in an instant. These creatures were just too weak for him.

Peering inside the storage room, he saw a chubby boy pinned to the ground by two zombies, their teeth tearing into his flesh as he screamed in agony. Blood gushed out in torrents.

In the corner, a beautiful girl sat paralyzed with fear, her face pale as she hugged her head, screaming uncontrollably. Three zombies were closing in on her.

"A beauty!"

Seeing that the girl was about to be torn apart, Goku's figure blurred as he flashed to her side in an instant. Raising his staff, he slammed it down like a whack-a-mole game, crushing the zombies' heads into a bloody pulp.

Then, turning around, he calmly walked over to the chubby boy and put an end to the two zombies feasting on him.

By now, Shizuka and Hayashi had also stepped inside. Seeing the trembling girl still screaming in terror, Hayashi crouched down and gently comforted her. Snapping out of her daze, the girl immediately clung to Hayashi, sobbing uncontrollably.

Watching the girl bury her tear-streaked face into Hayashi's ample bosom, Goku couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.

Then, as he took a closer look at the girl, a sense of familiarity struck him. When she finally lifted her face, realization dawned on him.

"Ah, no wonder she looked so familiar—it's Takagi Saya, one of the four main heroines!"

Glancing at the chubby boy lying on the ground, now nothing more than a bloody mess, Goku offered a brief moment of silence for him.

In the original story, this guy was the secondary male lead. But thanks to Goku's interference—bringing along extra zombies and altering events—he had unknowingly triggered a butterfly effect, leading to the poor guy's demise. What a pity.

Looking around, Goku noticed that the chainsaw from the original story was nowhere to be found. The makeshift crossbow the chubby boy had crafted was also missing. The changes from the butterfly effect were huge.

Without a firearm, the chubby boy—who relied entirely on weapons to survive—was as good as dead.

Saya, overwhelmed by fear and grief, didn't react as she had in the original story. Instead of complaining and acting tough, she clung to Hayashi and sobbed uncontrollably.

"There, there~ It's all over now. The teacher's here for you~" Shizuka stepped forward and embraced Saya, offering gentle reassurance.

With the warmth of the two women comforting her, Saya slowly calmed down. Wiping her tears, she took a deep breath and murmured, "Thank you… I'm okay now…"

At that moment, hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway, rapidly approaching.
