Dragon Ball Super: Exposed! I'm a super saiyan

Chapter 41: CHAPTER 41

x41: Vegeta's Defeat! Wukong Appears

Under Hit's powerful assault, Vegeta was completely overwhelmed!

Sweat trickled down everyone's faces, especially those from Universe 7. Super Saiyan Blue, a form that combines the raw power of Super Saiyan with the divine energy of god ki—had always been their ultimate trump card. In the past, Vegeta had used it to defeat formidable opponents like Goku Black and Toppo. No one but the Gods of Destruction had ever been able to put down Vegeta in that form. And yet, here was Hit, not just surviving, but completely outmaneuvering him. Even Super Saiyan Blue can't handle Hit?! Just how powerful has he become?

Son Goku asked Luya, eyes sharp: "Can you see Hit's movements clearly?"

Luya narrowed his eyes. "Not really… but his attack, it transcends time itself!"

"Transcends time?!" Goku was clearly startled. This was the first time he'd heard someone describe battle techniques that way.

"Luya is right," Whis interjected, arms folded, tone serious. "Hit's true strength doesn't come from raw power, it's his assassination techniques. The ability he's using is called the Time-Skip, and he's honed it to perfection. He pauses time for 0.1 seconds, allowing him to move within a frozen frame and strike. Essentially, he's creating a micro-gap in time to step into a parallel moment. That's why Vegeta's attacks don't land."

Beerus turned toward Luya and gave him a calculating glance. "You know quite a bit for someone who isn't even from our universe."

Luya smiled faintly. "Let's just say I've done my homework."

Beerus: "…"

Goku turned back to Luya, intrigued. "Since you understand his technique… can it be countered?"

Luya pondered the question. "Hit's Time-Skip, or Tokitobashi, allows him to sidestep damage by shifting ever so slightly out of time. His physical body remains in place, but for that instant, he's untouchable. Then he returns with a strike that hits you before you even know he's moved. To counter him… you'd need to anticipate his anticipation. Predict his prediction."

Everyone went quiet.

Whis and Beerus exchanged a glance, both visibly unsettled. Luya's understanding of Hit's technique was too accurate too precise for someone who should be watching this for the first time.

"Whis," Beerus said in a low voice. "Given our universe's level of civilization and power scaling… does someone like him make sense?"

Whis shook his head slowly. "No… he doesn't. No known race or time-based species in Universe 7 could've produced him. I don't know his origin either."

Beerus didn't respond. He just stared at Luya, eyes narrowing slightly.

Luya, feeling Beerus's gaze, suddenly tensed. Crap. I said too much. I've got to dial it back, no more spoilers or I'll get exposed!

"Ah! I get it now!" Goku suddenly exclaimed with a grin.

Luya blinked. "You figured it out?"

Goku smirked. "Just watch what I do next!"

Luya: "…"

...

Back on the battlefield, Vegeta was still holding on by a thread. He broke away from Hit, panting heavily. His combat instincts screamed at him that something was off. No matter how many times he attacked, it was like he was swinging at empty air. His punches connected with nothing, his enemy would vanish before impact, only to strike from an impossible angle.

It was maddening.

To Vegeta's seasoned senses, it was as though the Hit standing before him wasn't real just a decoy or an afterimage while the real attacker remained completely untrackable. This wasn't just speed. It was something beyond that.

Something unnatural.

Something terrifying.

What was even more bizarre was that Vegeta couldn't land a single hit on his opponent. Every time he launched an attack and appeared to be on the verge of striking Hit directly, his blows would pass straight through, as if Hit's body had phased out of existence. And then, just as quickly, Hit would counter with punishing precision!

Unbelievable!

"What's wrong? Lost in thought during battle?" Hit's voice rang out, eerily calm.

Before Vegeta could react, Hit had already reappeared in front of him and landed a vicious punch right into Vegeta's abdomen.

The blow caused Vegeta to bend over slightly, his expression twisted in pain. Gritting his teeth, he fought back the searing discomfort, his sharp Saiyan eyes glinting coldly.

"This is it!"

Smack!

Vegeta suddenly caught Hit's forearm with lightning reflexes, locking it in place. Then, with a roar, he drove his own fist toward Hit's face with everything he had.

Bang!

Whoosh!

But something was wrong—Vegeta, not Hit, took the full brunt of the blow!

His pupils contracted in disbelief. He had clearly aimed correctly, but in the split second between attack and contact, Hit had slipped away and retaliated from an impossible angle!

He couldn't see him.

He couldn't follow his movements.

Vegeta was struck twice in rapid succession. The wind from Hit's punch howled through his body, pushing the air from his lungs and sending shockwaves out the other side. A moment later, his glowing blue aura cracked and faded—the form of Super Saiyan Blue collapsed completely!

He had sustained critical internal damage. His godly ki was leaking uncontrollably. He could no longer maintain the transformation.

Vegeta hit the ground hard. The entire arena went completely still.

The spectators both Universe 6 and 7 stared in stunned silence. The mighty Prince of Saiyans, beaten so cleanly?

"Vegeta… actually lost?" Universe 7's team stared in disbelief. Dry-mouthed. Speechless.

Goku's expression turned serious. Even he hadn't expected the depth of Hit's technique.

Luya's eyes closed slightly. He wasn't surprised by the result but it was still disappointing. In terms of raw combat power, Hit wasn't that much stronger than Vegeta. It was just his mastery of time manipulation, the Time-Skip that gave him a crushing tactical advantage. It allowed him to avoid damage with eerie precision, making even Vegeta's ferocity ineffective.

Because of that, Vegeta had become his prey.

"Vegeta of Universe 7 has fallen! The victor is Hit of Universe 6!" the referee declared loudly.

Hit glanced at the fallen Saiyan and remarked with quiet respect, "You're the first person who's ever taken so many of my strikes and lived."

Without further ceremony, he turned and stepped back.

Vegeta scowled, frustrated and humiliated. His body trembled slightly, but not from pain—from the inability to rise again.

Whoosh!

Goku instantly appeared beside Vegeta and helped him back to the team's seating area.

"Krillin, senzu bean!" Bulma called quickly.

Krillin hurried over, handed the bean to Bulma, and she fed it to Vegeta.

Moments after consuming the senzu bean, Vegeta sat upright, fully healed. His face, however, was a mixture of lingering shock and silent anger.

Goku looked at him and smiled. "Wow… Vegeta, that guy's no joke. Even I couldn't read his movements clearly!"

"Hmph! Damn it… I won't lose to him again," Vegeta muttered coldly, fists clenched.

Goku grinned. "Alright, then I guess it's my turn!"

"What?!" Vegeta looked up in surprise. "Isn't Luya supposed to be next?"

Luya shrugged nonchalantly from the sidelines.

Goku chuckled. "We switched spots. I asked him for the next round—I've got to fight Hit for myself!"

Vegeta scoffed. "Do whatever you want."

Goku turned to the group and waved enthusiastically. "Everyone! I'm up!"

"Go, Goku!!" Krillin and the others cheered loudly.

With a calm smile, Goku leapt into the arena.

On the opposite side, Hit reentered the stage. The two fighters stood several meters apart, eyes locked in mutual understanding. Seriousness filled the air.

"Is this really okay, letting Goku go now?" Beerus asked, a trace of tension in his voice.

Whis, ever calm, chuckled. "If Goku loses, we still have Luya… and of course, Monaka—the 'strongest warrior in the universe,' right? There's no need to worry, Lord Beerus."

At this, Beerus's face stiffened awkwardly. "About that… the truth is, Monaka's not really a fighter. He's a deliveryman. I only said that to motivate Goku. You knew that already, didn't you, Whis?"

"Ho ho ho! Looks like Lord Beerus may have made a critical miscalculation," Whis teased. "If Goku loses, no one in Universe 7 may be able to stop Hit!"

"Tch! Dammit!" Beerus grumbled, clearly frustrated.

Meanwhile, Piccolo, whose enhanced Namekian hearing allowed him to overhear their entire exchange, turned pale. His body stiffened with shock.

Was Goku really their last hope?

Piccolo couldn't help but glance at Luya.

Is this guy… really reliable?
