DxD: THE LEGENDARY TRAVELER WITH SYSTEM

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Turning Them into Devils

Just as Zaydas had deduced, the corn, soy, and sorghum crops were already ripe.

By midday, they had finished harvesting everything.

As expected of individuals with great stamina. In just a few hours, they managed to harvest a good portion of the plantation.

"Alright, girls, we'll finish the rest after lunch," Zaydas said. "We're not racing against time, so there's no need to rush."

"Yes~!"

...

Once again, Asia helped Zaydas in the kitchen. And not just her—Rize also volunteered to help.

Well, Zaydas had built a large kitchen, so there was no problem even with all three of them there.

───────────

Seven days passed in the blink of an eye...

During these days, the girls became closer friends.

Meanwhile, Zaydas produced another 2,000 bottles of golden wine.

In addition, he expanded the other half of the orchard with golden fruit trees. They were already large enough and wouldn't take long to start bearing fruit.

Currently, he had managed to store 10,000 golden fruits in his storage dimension.

Although a single golden fruit could only replenish 2% of his Demonic Power, for weaker beings, it was something miraculous.

'I'll leave 500 with Rimuru,' Zaydas thought, considering the war preparations. 'That should be enough for him to choose the best in his group so they don't run out of magicules.'

He himself intended to share ten with each of the Onis.

Moreover, during this time, he reflected a lot and decided to take Asia and the Infernal Wolves with him.

He considered taking Rurushi, but he hadn't talked to her about it yet. Then there was Ria... She had asked to become his servant, just like Asia.

Strangely, when Rurushi heard about it, despite being a powerful vampire, she also seemed incredibly interested in becoming a Devil.

'Should I just transform them?'

It wasn't like they were weak. In fact, Rurushi could rival—perhaps even surpass—Akeno in combat power. Meanwhile, Ria was slightly weaker than Rurushi.

"Do you really want this?" With both of them standing before him, Zaydas asked just to be sure.

"Yes, we do!"

Extending his hand toward Rurushi, he saw that she was compatible with both the Bishop and Queen pieces. After some thought, he picked the Bishop piece.

Using telekinesis, he placed it between her breasts, and the piece began to fuse with her.

Then, he did the same with Ria and was a little surprised to see that she was only compatible with the Pawn piece.

By the way, don't underestimate his Pawn pieces. All of them were mutants and could even be worth as much as a normal Queen piece.

Picking up the piece, he made it float toward her.

As the piece began to fuse with her, she started glowing just like Rurushi.

[+43,843 AP!]

[+19,874 AP!]

When a pair of mercury-black wings extended from their backs, he also gained a good amount of AP.

"How are you feeling?" Zaydas asked.

"This is amazing," Rurushi replied. "I feel like I've become at least twice as powerful and... besides that..."

She snapped her fingers, and a ball of fire appeared in the air.

"My magic has become easier to use~" she hummed happily.

Ria smiled, clenching her hand into a fist: "I feel stronger. I should be able to defeat a bear with my bare hands now."

"So for me, it was more of a magical improvement, while for you, a physical one?" Rurushi said.

"Basically, though my magical power has improved a lot too." She mimicked Rurushi's earlier action, but instead of fire, electric sparks appeared.

"By the way, I'm still surprised by you, Ria," Zaydas said. "I thought you wanted to revive your clan."

"Huh? You're saying something strange, Zaydas."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, even though, as you said, I have been reincarnated as a Devil, in essence, I'm still an elf, right?" she asked.

Thinking for a moment, Zaydas nodded. "Basically, yes."

"Then there's no problem~" she sang.

"Beng! Beng! Beng!"

"Woof!"

At the sound of knocking on wood and a wolf barking, Zaydas said, "I'll be right back."

Leaving those words behind, he teleported.

...

"Who could it be this time?" Ria looked at Rurushi, retracting her Devil wings.

"I don't know." Rurushi did the same, then said, "By the way, I didn't get the chance to ask before, but... h-how is the darling husband in bed?"

Smiling as she blushed, Ria replied, "In a few words... Incredibly incredible~!"

"I don't quite get it, but I understand..." Rurushi blushed. "I... I think I'll make a night visit tonight, so... you know."

"Yes, I'll let the elves know not to go to his room tonight." Ria sincerely wished from the bottom of her heart: "Good luck~"

"Mm, thank you~" Rurushi smiled.

...

Meanwhile, Zaydas found himself facing a familiar scene...

Infernal Wolves attacked from all sides, while Demon Spiders wrapped the girl with angel wings in silk threads.

"Whoa! Please forgive me! I know I was wrong to attack first!"

"Hey, you!" When she saw him, tears in her eyes, she pleaded, "Please, save me!"

"Everyone, back off," Zaydas ordered.

At his command, the Demon Spiders and Infernal Wolves retreated.

With a simple wave of his hand, a gust of wind cut through the silk threads around the girl's body.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, somehow."

Free, she made her finger glow with a green light. Soon, she was enveloped in a glow, healing all her wounds—even the torn parts of her dress—and her angel wings retracted.

She was an angelic-looking girl who appeared to be at most 20 years old, stunning in a white, lightweight fabric dress. The deep V-neckline accentuated her ample breasts, while a golden sash rested below her bust. The skirt flowed elegantly, with a high side slit that revealed her toned legs.

Long golden bracelets adorned her arms, matching the white gloves that reached her forearms. Her white stockings had a charming cutout at thigh height, held up by golden straps.

Her short blonde hair framed her delicate face, while a blue butterfly ribbon adorned the left side of her head. Her eyes were yellow, almost golden.

"Gehh..." She groaned in frustration, then looked at Zaydas, saying, "That was a horrible experience I just went through. You saved me."

"Well, you attacked them first," Zaydas said. "So… actually, never mind, I guess it wouldn't make much difference since, to them, you're an intruder, a potential enemy."

"I understand..." She seemed to reflect on something. Then she asked, "By the way, what is that? A village?"

"Basically," Zaydas replied. "Follow me, I'll show you the place."

"Is it really okay for me to go with you?" she asked uncertainly. She added, "By the way, I'm Tia from the Angel race."

He imitated her introduction: "Zaydas, The Traveler from the Devil race."

"Devil?"

Zaydas made his wings manifest gloriously.

"Ohhh... I don't think I've ever seen wings like yours, so pretty~" she said cheerfully.

"Thanks, I guess..." Zaydas particularly didn't like his wings. But it seemed like he was the only one?

Well, actually, his current wings were better than they were at the beginning, so it wasn't that bad.

He even thought that when he became an Ultimate-Class Devil, the number of wings would increase, but to his surprise, only their size and width grew. Which was actually much better in his opinion.

After entering the village and approaching the great tree, Hiraku appeared.

"Zaydas-san, what was that just now?" he asked, then quickly noticed Tia. "She is..."

"Tia, from the Angel race, she..." Zaydas turned to her. "By the way, I still haven't asked you, what is your purpose in coming here?"

"I'm looking for someone," she replied. "She ran away into this forest, and while I was searching for her, I ended up finding this place. And as I tried to get closer, the Infernal Wolves appeared, and the rest you already know." She looked embarrassed at the end.

"Did something happen?" Hiraku, who didn't know, asked.

"Nothing major, let's go." Zaydas said. "I'll introduce you to the residents. Maybe one of them is the person you're looking for?"

"Why do you say that?" she asked.

"Basically, I found all of them while wandering through the forest," Zaydas replied.

"So... Is there someone named Rurushi here?" she asked, her eyes shining intensely.

"Yes, there is," Zaydas confirmed.

She murmured softly, "Rurushi... I finally found you...!"

"If you want to see Rurushi, she's staying at my house. Come with me," Zaydas said.

"Since it's about Rurushi, I'll get back to work," Hiraku said. "If you need help, just ask."

"Of course, good luck with your work," Zaydas said to him with a smile.

"Thanks." Responding, Hiraku left, scratching the back of his head with a hoe resting on his shoulder.

As they walked toward the northeast, where his mansion was located, Zaydas asked her, "Have you known Rurushi for a long time?"

"Well, yes," she replied vaguely.

Seeing that she didn't seem to want to talk, he remained silent, guiding her.

When they arrived, Rurushi, who was stepping out the door, saw Tia and was surprised.

"Tia!"

"Rurushi! So this is where you've been, huh?! Stop resisting and come quietly! Don't even think about escaping!!!" Tia shouted.

"Hey." Zaydas expanded his aura. "Are you Rurushi's enemy?"

Rurushi stopped him, standing in front of Tia with sweat running down her face: "Wait, wait, Zaydas!"

Retracting his aura, Zaydas asked, "She's not your enemy?"

Rurushi took a deep breath and then replied somewhat awkwardly: "Haha, not exactly. Remember when I said I made a mess when some nobles tried to steal my research? Well, Tia was kind of my partner."

"Yes, yes!" Tia lost all the strong momentum she had before, her face turning as white as her wings.

"Nobles, huh... Want me to get revenge on them for you?" Zaydas asked.

"No need, no need." Rurushi shook her head. "Actually, I've already done more than enough. They must have suffered a huge loss because of me, haha."

"If you say so." Zaydas relaxed and slightly bowed his head to Tia: "Sorry for scaring you. Since I thought you were Rurushi's enemy, I almost ended up attacking you."

"N-No... No need to apologize." She stammered, hiding behind Rurushi with her hands on her shoulders. "I-I'm fine, I understand your side..."

"Really? Alright, I guess..." He said. "I can see you're uncomfortable in my presence. I'll leave her with you. Is that okay?"

"Yes, leave her to me." Rurushi replied with a small smile.

Receiving her response, Zaydas began flying north toward the orchard.

...

Meanwhile, Tia, who watched Zaydas leave, let out a long sigh.

"This time, I really thought I was going to die..." She murmured. "What a dangerous man..."

With a thin smile, Rurushi said, "Actually, I'm surprised too."

"Who exactly is he, Rurushi?" Tia asked, saying, "I've never seen anyone with such a dangerous aura in my entire life!"

Rurushi blushed visibly, even the tips of her ears and her neck turning red. Her right hand was in front of her mouth as she said, "Well, he's... my Darling husband."

"Darling husband?" Tia was more than surprised. "That dangerous man is your Darling husband?"

"Well, normally, he's pretty calm. He only got like that because you tried to capture me, remember?" Rurushi replied, still blushing.

"... I see." Tia fell silent. She couldn't deny that part of this was her fault.

"Actually." Tia suddenly remembered something, becoming depressed again. "When I arrived here, I was attacked by Infernal Wolves and Demon Spiders. That was a horrible experience I just went through."

"I understand you." Rurushi said. "They did the same to me."

"You too?"

"Yes, they're quite cruel." She looked down. "Magic doesn't affect them much, and they dodge."

"Fighting them is a death sentence..." Tia agreed, then added fearfully, "But your husband was even scarier... I'm starting to think I was lucky..."

"Well, yeah..." Rurushi couldn't deny that fact.

"..."

For a few seconds, the two remained silent until Asia appeared.

"Rurushi, is she your friend?" she asked as she approached.

Looking at her, Rurushi smiled: "Yes."
