Chapter 325: Hurry Back from the Danger of the Otherworld (2)
"Looks so simple, just put it there and it's good?"
"Is it about guiding the energy from the Heart Core into the Transmission Platform?"
Ye Nai sharply caught the new terms in their conversation, and instantly withdrew her hand, the faint glow that had just appeared died down again.
"Hmm? You call it the Transmission Platform?"
"Yes, the Transmission Platform, that's what the captured prisoners said, and its only use is for teleportation, to open the Space Channel."
"Finally got to know what this thing is officially called, I've heard some call it the altar."
"There are all sorts of names, but there are few who have seen it, there's no need to widely promote an official name, we only started calling it the Transmission Platform after we were corrected upon entering the school."
"Information barriers are not good, look at the citizens and lower-class Nobles of this country, the war dividends harvested by the upper echelons of the state are not at all passed down to them, seeing a car, they think it's a monster, screaming in terror."
"Tch, the related information has reportedly been sorted out, as long as we get a stable Space Channel that can transport people back and forth in large quantities, it will be gradually made public."
"You're eyeing the vast land of the Otherworld, aren't you?"
"Of course, the pristine land untouched by severe industrial pollution, is most suitable for farming."
"Then we need to speed up our progress, don't let other countries get ahead. I don't believe that we are the only nation on Blue Star that has survived to this day; those veteran countries must have some foundation to last until now, right?"
Ye Nai verbally agreed, but internally, she doubted the existence of other state powers on Blue Star that could contend with Dahua Country, though she believed there definitely were small forces in the form of tribal clusters or family alliances.
"Heh, that's hard to say. The war came suddenly, the Secret Realm unfolded simultaneously across the globe, enemies descended directly upon the homeland and heartlands of various countries, we paid a very heavy price to drive the enemy back into the Secret Realm, other countries had a smaller population than us, how many people have survived until now is hard to say."
"Even if people survived, the technological tree would be incomplete due to the destruction of the war."
"Before the war, countries that had a larger population than ours had a crooked technological tree, now I do believe they must have some civilians surviving, but no one can imagine what state they are in now."
"I've seen some people, carrying old firearms, and Blue Star natives who became slaves to the enemy, using smoke-belching oil saws to cut down trees. The natives in the occupied areas truly don't have good days."
The two had been idly chatting, and although the topic had drifted quite a bit, Ye Nai's words piqued everyone's interest.
"Hold on, did you say a smoke-belching oil saw?"
"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes, the working slaves were all skin and bones, the overseers had it much better than the slaves."
"Boss, when you go back to Blue Star, could you find out where this oil resource is? We're in urgent need of crude oil, bringing it back could mean money and points."
"No problem."
Ye Nai herself was interested in the oil used by the saw, otherwise, she wouldn't have been constantly mindful of Blue Star's affairs—it was all about chasing the enemy's Military Fortress upstream, scavenging more spoils of war, and seeking more benefits for herself.
"Come on, let's get back to the topic, how to use the Heart Core to start up the Transmission Platform." Ye Nai tossed the Heart Core to Shi Lin, "Have you tried using the Heart Core to replenish your depleted superpower energy? It's the same method, just that the end point of energy guidance is different."
Ye Nai received her own superpower energy not from the Heart Core, but her words were not completely fabricated; she too could feel the energy flowing through the meridians in her body, except the energy she channeled was from spores.
Shi Lin held the Heart Core but still looked confused.
"Boss, this is the first time we've captured such rich spoils of war."
"Are you all complete rookies? Didn't you have any experience before enrolling in school?"
"We graduated from high school and went straight to university, totally lacking your extensive experience, boss."
"Alright, give me your hand, and I'll show you how to extract the energy from the Heart Core."
Shi Lin immediately extended her right hand, and Ye Nai, holding her right hand with his left, placed the Heart Core in Shi Lin's palm and gripped it tightly.
"Hold your breath and focus, follow the sensation I'm about to stimulate."
Ye Nai, guiding Shi Lin, merely allowed her to feel the sensation of drawing out the energy from the Heart Core, running it around her hand twice, making the skin on the hand take on the same color as the Heart Core, before guiding the energy back into the Heart Core.
He didn't guide the energy from the Heart Core to circulate through Shi Lin's meridians, as that would be taboo; who knows if someone else's energy entering one's body might cause harm intentionally.
Shi Lin, worthy of being an academically brilliant student admitted to the National Defense University, managed to stumble through the process on her own after following Ye Nai's lead twice. After practicing a few times, she could maintain the effect for an increasingly longer duration.
However, Ye Nai didn't let her continue practicing, as that could wait until they were back at school. For now, it was time to set off.
The Heart Core was returned to Ye Nai's hand, who then completely opened the transmission channel, taking the Heart Core with her to scout ahead. Once it was secure, she would call the Smoke Formation Team over.
"I'll go first; you guys rest for now. I'll be back in an hour or so. I've already cleared the fort, so as long as you don't wander off, you'll be safe here."
"Don't worry, boss. We still have the wounded with us. We'll make sure not to mess around."
While they were talking, Ye Nai's spores had already gone ahead through the opened Space Channel to clear the area. By the time she had finished giving instructions and went over, the small courtyard where the Transmission Platform was located was full of enemy bodies—a squad of twenty, lifeless.
After the Smoke Formation Tactical Team's assault, this place had gone on high alert, ready for the intruders to fall into a trap on their return.
However, her spores were more ferocious.
The Duke's Main City had only five Transmission Platforms, and the list didn't detail which cities and Military Fortresses with their political and military levels they were connected to. But, logically deducing, the ones connected to the Duke's Main City would not be of low importance apart from one which was the Royal Capital, definitely on the same level.
Ye Nai smiled slightly; she liked high-end goods, so scavenging for spoils of war was more satisfying.
An hour later, the Military Fortress was cleared. Ye Nai used the Heart Core that she had brought with her to reactivate the Transmission Platform, opening the Space Transmission channel. Soon after, Shi Lin tentatively poked her head out.
"Come over; it's safe."
Shi Lin immediately withdrew back in. In a short while, the logistics personnel were the first to come over with two vehicles, followed by the injured being carried over, with the two team leaders walking behind.
"Did you guys shoot at the courtyard wall when you were teleporting here? I saw a courtyard with a few bullet holes."
"Yes, yes, that's the one. We've been grabbing others' transmission spots and fighting our way here, our ammo's almost spent."
"Alright, I'll lead the way, so you don't waste time wandering around in the middle of the night."
"Thank you, boss, thank you, boss."
And so, Ye Nai led the Smoke Formation Tactical Team through Military Fortresses and cities, teleporting efficiently from one to the next.
