Fairy Tail Destiny

Chapter 51: Ch 51 : Infinite Armament

Noel looked at the boy before him.

The magic surrounding him was the same shade of purple as that of Phantom Lord's master, Joseph.

However, it felt completely different.

Joseph's purple magic was like "death," while the magic of the boy in front of him was like amethyst—smooth, translucent, yet radiant.

"Noel Rutherford... No, I should call you Nord Rutherford, right?" Reign gazed at Noel, speaking slowly.

Though his tone still carried arrogance, there was now a hint of caution, and the disdain on his face gradually faded.

Hearing Reign address him by that name, Noel frowned but said nothing.

He had expected this—after all, the last time he encountered Garlos, the latter had used the same name.

The enemy clearly knew a lot about him; otherwise, they wouldn't have known this name.

A name he had discarded fourteen years ago.

Other than Makarov, not even Mira or Erza, the people closest to him, knew that he had once gone by that name.

"There's no need for more talk. Once I capture you, I'll make you spill everything you know. Who exactly is this 'master' you speak of? And what does he have to do with me?" Noel clenched his fists as white magic energy wrapped around his arms.

"Heh, fine. If you think you can do that, then go ahead and try," Reign replied with a smirk.

As he spoke, purple magic gathered in his palm, condensing into a glowing purple sword.

Then, with a sudden stomp on the ground, he shot toward Noel like an arrow released from its bow.

Noel had no intention of dodging.

Instead, he condensed a sword of white light in his hands and met Reign head-on.

Their blades clashed, white and purple light colliding with a shower of sparks and a deafening roar.

The impact of their swords generated a massive shockwave, blowing everything in the room away.

"Heh, not bad," Reign grinned as he looked at Noel.

"Right back at you."

"Good! Now defeating you will be even more satisfying!" Reign let out an excited shout as he pushed forward with renewed force.

The two of them seemed to transform into streaks of purple and white light, clashing repeatedly, separating, and then colliding again.

Their relentless battle wreaked havoc upon everything around them, sending sparks flying with each strike.

The room's lighting had long since been destroyed, but the darkness posed no obstacle to either fighter.

The floor, walls, and ceiling all bore the scars of their battle—countless sword marks etched into every surface, serving as a testament to the sheer destructive power of their clash.

"Hmph, enough with these pointless tests." After several exchanges, both fighters instinctively halted, no longer wasting time on flashy maneuvers.

Reign stared at Noel, his voice filled with impatience. "If you're not going to show your real strength, then I'll go first."

Noel didn't respond.

He simply held his glowing sword horizontally in front of his chest, assuming a defensive stance.

"Oh? So you're ready for this?" Reign chuckled lightly, then raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.

As the sound echoed through the room, the purple magic surrounding Reign gathered together, concentrating behind him.

Slowly, a massive, heavy-looking gate took shape—a deep purple door adorned with countless engravings of various weapons.

"What… is that?" A faint trace of surprise flickered in Noel's eyes.

"This?" Reign smirked, his face brimming with pride. "This… is the true form of the magic bestowed upon me by my master. The most powerful magic—one that no one can ever hope to rival."

The massive gate behind Reign creaked open slightly.

From the gap, dozens—no, countless—weapons emerged, glowing purple as they floated around him.

Swords, spears, halberds, lances… an arsenal of different weapons filled the space around him.

"Go forth—Infinite Armament: Torrent." Reign extended his hand and swung it forward.

In response, the countless floating weapons surged forward like soldiers obeying a command, crashing toward Noel in a wave as unstoppable as a flood.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Countless weapons continued to shoot out, attacking Noel relentlessly.

Faced with the overwhelming barrage, Noel had no choice but to turn his body into pure light, speeding along the walls at incredible velocity to evade the assault.

The magical weapons rained down behind him, slamming into the walls and reducing them to rubble upon impact.

It was clear—the power behind these weapons was even greater than he had anticipated.

(I'm completely suppressed… This won't do. At this rate, I won't even be able to get close to him, let alone defeat him. On top of that, it seems like his magic can recycle the weapons he's already summoned and use them again. If this turns into a prolonged battle, the odds will only become worse for me. I need to find a way to counter him and seize victory.)

Noel's gaze flickered toward Reign, who stood at the center of the storm of weapons, then shifted toward the blades that had embedded themselves in the ground before dissolving back into magical energy and returning to the massive purple gate behind him.

Just then, Reign suddenly pressed his hand downward.

"Infinite Armament: Downpour."

As his words fell, the ceiling of the room glowed with a deep purple hue, and countless weapons came raining down from above.

"Damn it!!" Noel's heart sank.

With no way to dodge, he hurriedly moved his hands, hastily conjuring two defensive barriers before curling his body inward to minimize his exposed surface area.

Boom! Boom!

A series of deafening explosions rang out, and as the dust settled, Noel was revealed, his left arm and right shoulder pierced by a sword and a blade.

Blood seeped from the wounds, trickling down his body.

Seeing this, a smirk crept onto Reign's lips.

(Each of these weapons carries roughly the strength of an S-rank attack. The maximum number of weapons he's launched at once has never exceeded thirty—though I can't be sure if he's holding back. For now, I'll assume he can control up to forty weapons at once as his full offensive output. His attack intervals are around 0.5 seconds, and the speed of the flying weapons is roughly half of my maximum movement speed. The core of his magic is that massive purple gate behind him. If I piece all this information together…)

Casually pulling the sword and blade from his shoulder and arm, Noel tossed them aside, showing no concern for the blood flowing from his wounds.

His eyes narrowed slightly as his mind continued calculating, analyzing every possible weakness and flaw in his opponent's technique.

As Noel was deep in thought, a male voice suddenly echoed through the room:

**"Welcome, everyone, to the Tower of Heaven. I am Jellal, the ruler of this tower. Now that all the pieces are in place, it's about time we began, isn't it? The Paradise Game. The rules are simple: I will use Erza as a sacrifice to perform the resurrection ritual for Zeref. In other words, if I manage to open the Gate of Paradise, I win. If you manage to stop me, you win.

However, that alone would be far too boring. I have arranged three warriors—if you cannot break through them, you will never reach me. That means it will be a three-versus-nine battle royale.

One last thing—there's a high chance the Magic Council will deploy their satellite magic array, an ultimate annihilation spell known as Etherion. The time remaining is unknown, but once Etherion strikes, it will mean complete destruction. There will be no victor—just Game Over."**

"What?! Etherion?!"

Hearing that name, a ripple of shock finally crossed Noel's otherwise calm face.

"Heh, did you hear that, Nord Rutherford? Etherion is about to wipe this place off the map. Are you really going to keep playing this little game with me?" Reign chuckled, his voice laced with amusement as he taunted Noel.

"I see… If that's the case, then I can't afford to waste any more time here. I don't have absolute confidence in this, but… I'll give it a try."

"Oh? What's the matter? Is the little mouse done running? Or have you finally run out of options?" Reign sneered, watching Noel with amusement.

Noel stood quietly on the ground, gazing at Reign on the other side.

"Reign, is it? Your magic is indeed quite powerful. Among all the magic I've encountered so far, its offensive power is undoubtedly among the strongest. However… you still can't unleash it to its full potential, can you?"

Hearing Noel's words, Reign's expression stiffened for a moment before twisting into anger.

"So what?! As long as I can defeat you, that's all that matters!"

Noel chuckled softly.

"No, that's not enough. If you could wield your magic at its peak, then perhaps you would have a real chance of defeating me. But as you are now… you can't."

"What…?"

Noel raised his right hand, holding up two fingers.

"Right now, you have two fatal weaknesses."
