Chapter 3: Original
Passing the sitting room where his siblings sat, minus Elijah.
Klaus stops him on his way out, "Hello brother, haven't seen you in a while. What errand has Mother got you running today?"
"Besides handing out invitations, I haven't done much for her. Been spending most of my time learning about this new world. as I've told you. In case you forgot, I've missed a lot. Perhaps you'd know how that feels if you ever wake up after a long sleep in a box," said Finn pointedly.
Kol grinned.
"Yes well, you should enjoy it while you can. One never knows when they might wake up again," Klaus smirked.
"Threatening already? It must bother you not to be anyone's favorite," said Finn nastily.
Kol held back his mirth as Klaus stood angrily, squaring up with him. After a moment of contemplation, he asked, "You wouldn't happen to know where my daggers are? They've seemed to run off during your release," said Klaus, looking for any signs of weakness he could exploit.
"Your daggers?" he sneered, "And here I thought you gifted them to us."
That got a laugh out of Kol, lifting his glass, "Cheers to that."
Rebekah rolled her eyes at the display before addressing him herself, "Honestly Finn, you wouldn't have been daggered for so long if you weren't such a bore, and now a kiss ass to boot."
"Well, I can stay here and pretend to be a mirror, or I can go learn how to drive," and with that, he left, ignoring her indignant huffing.
Passing by Elijah.
"Shut up Kol!" growled Rebekah, which only made him laugh all the harder as he often tends to do when confronted to annoy them further.
"You better not practice with mine!" yelled Niklaus to his retreating form.
Elijah walks in, "What did I miss?"
"You know the usual, Klaus's paranoia, sibling banter, and family drama," Kol drawled mockingly.
Elijah turned to the hybrid, "Klaus, this is our chance to be a family again. Our entire family is awake. Mother is back, Father is gone, and there is nothing out there that can kill us. This is our moment," he said, trying to persuade him from ruin.
Stepping closer, Klaus looked him in the eyes, "Alright Elijah, we'll do it your way, but when I turn out to be right, like I always am, I'll be waiting," he said brushing past him.
.
After destroying the first car by sending his foot through the floor braking too hard, Finn quickly got the hang of it with the second one.
He then drove out to the Coven to clear the air and plan.
Ana answered the door, "Oh, it's you. I see you have a daylight ring. Why don't you work with the one who gave you that?"
Finn looked down at his ring as he played with it, "This ring was made over 900 years ago."
"Oh, whatever," she said opening the door for him to enter, but he found his foot couldn't cross the threshold anymore despite being invited last time.
"Did you find a protection spell that works?" he asked, looking at the smirking woman.
Mary arrived: "No, nothing like that. We just changed ownership of the property between each other. I'm glad to see it worked. Come in; we have much to discuss."
"Smart," said Finn stepping in.
Greeting the others, he was led into the sitting area where they all sat down with him in a lone seat on the opposite side facing them.
"I should start," said Finn, "My full name is Finn Mikaelson, yes that Mikaelson. I am an Original."
There was silence. A couple opened their mouths to speak but closed them, unsure how to respond to that bit of information, even Ana.
Saving them the trouble, he continued, "You'll find that my family has a lot of issues as you can well imagine. The biggest of which is their betrayal towards me. When they learned about my self-hatred for becoming this, this monstrosity," the disgust evident on his face, "They stabbed me in the back and sealed me away. It was only recently I've been released, saying they're looking for amends while furthering their evil agendas, what a joke. I still feel the same as I did back then. Vampires are an evil plague that must be wiped out. Should they realize this, they'll find a way to kill me like they did my father, for he too held the same disdain for our kind."
And while he meant every word, 900 years in a box changed him. There was a new world to explore, and he felt he was owed a life or two before he went. And thanks to Father's work, he now knew the right way to go about it. He didn't need to feed on humans when he could feed on vampires, minus the occasional blood bag, of course, no harm no foul.
After a momentary silence, Mary spoke, "So, you are an Original?"
"Yes," he confirmed. "You once asked for proof, I was hesitant at first to tell you who I am, but I realized that would be impossible to keep secret going forward, so if you still need proof, I'm willing to let you stake me. What would kill ordinary vampires does not affect us."
Ana and Lucia didn't hesitate to magically throw stakes, piercing his chest and heart, giving each other a small grin.
"Ana! Lucia! What did you do!" Mary yelled angrily at their blatant brashness.
"What? He asked for it," argued Ana, waving her hand at him.
"That doesn't mean you get to act without my say!" said Mary heatedly.
Ana sat back with a frown, crossing her arms.
They all looked towards the slumped-over vamp who seemed all but dead.
"I'd be pretty funny if he's actually dead," Ana smirked.
"You better hope he's not," said Mary, glaring at her until her smirk vanished. She didn't know what she would do to them if all that potential magical knowledge was gone.
When Finn felt the darkness hit, he almost panicked, delaying his awakening. Otherwise, it would have been merely a momentary pause—a feat even Niklaus would envy. He could feel it, he could feel his control over his pseudo-death state growing, and he wondered whether there were any other benefits other than waking up faster.
Opening his eyes, he lifts his head and removes the stakes, eyeing the two who were so quick to act.
"It's true," said Mary, all their eyes widening, fully convinced.
"Perhaps now you can truly appreciate what it means to be my ally," said Finn, dropping the bloodied stakes.
.
Watching him drive away, Holly, the second youngest after Lucia, asked, "Why didn't we just trap him and force him to tell us all he knows?"
Tina frowned, "Don't be stupid, or did you forget where he said his very powerful witch mother wishes to use him in a spell? Do you wish to bring her and his entire immortal family down on our heads?"
"Alright, that's enough for today, there's still work that needs doing, get to it," ordered Mary.
Once they left, Mary and her two oldest companions went over everything.
"Do you think it wise to ally ourselves with him?" asked Betty in concern.
"Of course it is, he'll always need us, but we won't always need him," said Florence confidently.
"Exactly," Mary grinned evilly, and they laughed.
