Genshin Impact : I became a Traveler?

Chapter 11: Asking for help

After that conversation, Lisa went to her own room, while Aether and Paimon shared another room.

Inside the room, Aether opened the gift box given by Katheryne. Inside, there was a purple-colored paper that emitted an immense amount of energy, along with a blue and pink crystal.

These were none other than Hero's Wit and Primogems. Inside the box, there were 10 Hero's Wit and approximately 50 Primogems.

As Aether took them out of the box, a system screen appeared in front of him, notifying that a 10x buff had been applied. This meant he had an additional 100 Hero's Wit and 500 Primogems.

'Primogems?' Paimon asked.

'Do you know about them, Paimon?'

'Yes! They're valuable crystals, and a lot of rich people love collecting them.'

'But no one really knows what they're actually used for. Do you know, Traveler?'

'Yes. To some extent, they can make me stronger.'

'In that case, we should collect more of them, Traveler! And what about this purple paper?'

'This is also used to increase strength. How about you try it, Paimon?'

'How do I do that?'

'Try imagining it like you're sucking on candy. This paper is pure energy.'

'Alright, Traveler.'

Paimon closed her eyes and began imagining it while holding the Hero's Wit. After a moment, the Hero's Wit in her hands began to disappear.

'Do you feel anything, Paimon?'

Paimon opened her eyes and shook her head.

'This is weird. Should I try again?'

'Go ahead.'

Paimon tried once more, but again, nothing happened.

'Forget it, Traveler. It seems like I really can't get stronger.'

'But as long as you're here to protect Paimon, that's all that matters.'

'On our journey, we'll find a way to make you stronger, and I'll still protect you, even if you do become stronger.'

'Thank you, Traveler.'

Aether nodded and then used the remaining Hero's Wit, including the ones in his system storage.

A massive surge of pure energy instantly flowed into his body, strengthening him.

Level 55… 56… 57… and finally, Level 58.

Aether used 108 Hero's Wit, increasing his level by 4 at once. His status was now as follows:

[Name: Aether]

 [Level: 58] (Original: 96)

[HP: 32,221] (Original: 372,984)

 [Attack: 2,363] (Original: 14,390)

 [Defense: 661] (Original: 7,360)

 [Dexterity: 932] (Original: 9,351)

 [Elemental Mastery: 600] (Original: 2,000)

 [Stamina: 660] (Original: 10,540)

Additionally, his status when receiving Venti's blessing was as follows:

[Name: Aether]

 [Level: 88] (Original: 96)

[HP: 283,221] (Original: 372,984)

 [Attack: 9,263] (Original: 14,390)

 [Defense: 6,121] (Original: 7,360)

 [Dexterity: 7,342] (Original: 9,351)

 [Elemental Mastery: 850] (Original: 2,000)

 [Stamina: 6,420] (Original: 10,540)

[Condition: Blessed by the Anemo Archon, which can only be maintained temporarily]

Aether also checked the Relationship Status with Amber, Bennett, and Fischl. In summary, this status indicated how much trust they had in him.

Additionally, his Adventurer's Handbook was now connected to his system, so he no longer needed to manually open the handbook to check for quests or information.

'108 Hero's Wit only raised my level by 4… I wonder how much more I need to reach Level 90,' Aether thought.

'How is it, Traveler?'

'It worked, and now I've become stronger.'

'That's great, Traveler!'

'In that case, let's get some rest, Traveler. Paimon is feeling pretty exhausted after a long day.'

'Yeah, let's rest. It's already quite late,' Aether said.

The two then went to sleep, and nothing unusual happened that night at Lisa's house.

However, what they didn't know was that a disturbance had occurred at the Church that night.

Early the next morning, just as the sun was beginning to rise, Aether and Lisa—who were in separate rooms—were awakened by a knock on Lisa's door.

Lisa stepped out of her room and opened the door. The person knocking was none other than a member of the Knights of Favonius.

'Apologies for disturbing you so early, Miss Lisa, but we have an emergency.'

'What is it?'

'Early this morning, the Holy Lyre der Himmel was stolen, and Acting Grand Master Jean has requested you and the Guardian Knight to come to the Cathedral.'

'Stolen?'

'Alright, I'll wake up the Traveler and Paimon immediately.'

'In that case, I'll take my leave, Miss Lisa. I still need to search for the thief's trail.'

Lisa nodded, then closed the door—only to see Aether standing in front of another room's door.

'Did you hear that, Traveler?'

'Yes, I'll wake Paimon now.'

Lisa nodded and went back to her room to get ready. Aether then entered his room to wake Paimon.

'Paimon, wake up. It's an emergency.'

'Eum… eum… What is it, Traveler?'

'Come on, get up, Paimon. We need to head to the Cathedral immediately.'

'Euhm… Alright…'

Paimon floated up from the bed and went to the bathroom to wash her face.

Meanwhile, Aether changed into his travel attire and then stepped out of the room. Shortly after, Paimon came out of the bathroom.

'What happened, Traveler?'

'The Holy Lyre der Himmel has been stolen. We're going there to investigate.'

'Eh? Stolen?'

Aether nodded. He hadn't expected this to happen either.

To prevent the Fatui from stealing the Holy Lyre der Himmel—just like in the game—he had avoided going to the Cathedral personally to borrow it.

Instead, he had told Jean to request it, thinking that if the Knights of Favonius handled it, it wouldn't raise any suspicion from the Fatui, since the Cathedral itself was managed by the Knights of Favonius.

'Wait… Yesterday, Venti mentioned that he went to the Cathedral to borrow the Holy Lyre der Himmel. Could it be that the Fatui had been watching him ever since?' Aether wondered.

A few moments later, Lisa stepped out of her room.

'Are you two ready?'

Aether and Paimon nodded in response to Lisa's question.

'I will use a Teleportation Mantra. Be ready.'

Lisa then stood behind them and chanted a magical incantation. Moments later, the three of them vanished and reappeared in front of the Cathedral's entrance.

'That was fast,' Paimon said, looking around.

There were many Knights of Favonius present, yet none of them seemed surprised by their sudden arrival.

'Miss Lisa, Guardian Knight, and Paimon,' one of the Knights of Favonius greeted them.

'Where is the Acting Grand Master?'

'She is already inside.'

Lisa nodded and turned to Aether and Paimon.

'Let's go inside.'

The two nodded and followed Lisa into the Cathedral.

After a short walk, they arrived at the room where the Holy Lyre der Himmel was kept. Inside, they saw Jean, Kaeya, a man dressed like a cardinal, and a nun.

'How is the situation?' Lisa asked.

'You've arrived,' Jean said before continuing,

'We found traces of Elemental Energy, but since so much time has passed, the remaining traces are too weak, making it difficult to track.'

'Let me try,' Lisa said, walking towards the spot where the Holy Lyre der Himmel was previously placed. She then began using tracking magic.

Meanwhile, Jean turned to Aether and Paimon.

'Traveler, Paimon, these are Cardinal Calvin and Sister Gotelinde.'

'Hello,' Aether and Paimon greeted them.

'It's a pleasure to meet you, Traveler, and you as well, Paimon. I didn't expect our first meeting to be under these circumstances,' Cardinal Calvin said.

'Honestly, I was hoping to meet you both under better conditions.'

'This is an emergency. No one expected something like this to happen,' Aether replied.

'You're right.'

'Besides the Elemental Traces, have you found any other clues?'

'There is one. Sister Gotelinde, please explain.'

'Yes,' the nun nodded before speaking.

'Yesterday, a small bard came, requesting to borrow the Holy Lyre der Himmel. He claimed that he could end the chaos and help Stormterror.

I firmly refused because he seemed suspicious.

But then… he claimed to be none other than the Anemo Archon, Barbatos. That was when I immediately chased him away.

Do you think there's a possibility that he was the one who stole the Holy Lyre der Himmel?'

Aether massaged his forehead, trying to hold back his laughter, while Paimon turned away, covering her mouth to stifle her own giggles.

Seeing their reactions, Jean recalled what Aether had told her yesterday—that Lord Barbatos wanted to borrow the Holy Lyre der Himmel.

'Could that bard actually be Lord Barbatos?!' Jean thought, glancing at Aether, who was now smiling at her.

'No, he's not the culprit.'

'If you've already sent people to search for him, tell them to stop.'

'Because I believe this is connected to the Fatui. Jean, you mentioned in your office that the Fatui were planning something regarding anything related to the Anemo Archon.'

'I've considered that as well, but I can't recklessly accuse them of stealing the Holy Lyre der Himmel,' Jean replied.

'I found the trail,' Lisa suddenly announced.

Everyone immediately turned to look at her.

'The Elemental Trace left behind is Electro.'

'In Mondstadt, the ones who can use the Electro element are myself, the girl Fischl, the little wolf in the forest, and a small number of people from the Fatui.'

'Fischl is a good girl, and the little wolf in the forest wouldn't do something like this. That leaves the Fatui as the most likely suspects,' Lisa concluded.

'But we can't just storm into their base and interrogate them one by one. That would create serious diplomatic issues,' Jean pointed out.

'And if they did steal the Holy Lyre der Himmel, they wouldn't keep it within Mondstadt.'

'What if we contacted someone?' Lisa suggested.

'With his connections, we might be able to find out where the Holy Lyre der Himmel is.'

'Who?' Paimon asked.

'Diluc. You've heard of him, right?'

'Ah, Brother Kaeya,' Lisa said.

'If it's Sir Diluc, that's a possibility,' Jean agreed.

'Do you want to go there now?' Lisa asked.

'No, it's better for Kaeya to go instead. The Fatui are definitely keeping an eye on me. If I go, they might figure something out.'

'Oh, Traveler, do you want to go with Kaeya?' Lisa asked.

'I don't mind. It's always good to get to know more influential people,' Aether replied.

Jean and Lisa agreed with Aether's reasoning.

'What about us, Master Jean?' Cardinal Calvin asked.

'Even though we suspect where the Holy Lyre der Himmel might be, we can't reveal that just yet.

It's best if we continue acting worried, as if we have no leads,' Jean explained.

'Understood,' he replied.

Jean then called a Knight and ordered them to find Kaeya.

At the same time, Cardinal Calvin and Sister Gotelinde also left, as they still had work to do.

Ten minutes later, Kaeya arrived at their location, and Jean explained the situation to him.

'So that's how it is. For something like this, relying on him is the best choice,' Kaeya said.

'Alright, Traveler, Paimon, let's head to his place. While we're at it, we should also grab some breakfast. I bet you two haven't eaten yet, right?'

'Now that you mention it, Paimon is starving!'

'Yeah, Paimon's right.'

'Well then, Jean, Lisa, see you later,' Aether said.

'Yes, we'll be waiting for good news from you.'

Kaeya, Aether, and Paimon left the Cathedral and walked toward Good Hunter, which took about 20 minutes—arriving just as the restaurant was opening.

'Sara, is the Adventurer's Breakfast Sandwich available yet?'

'Yes, Sir Kaeya.'

'How many do you two want?'

'Paimon wants two portions!'

'I'll take two as well.'

'Alright then, Sara, pack six portions,' Kaeya said.

'Understood, please wait a moment.'

'You two don't have any Mora yet, do you?'

Aether and Paimon nodded.

'I'll cover it this time.'

'Thank you! Next time, let me treat you.'

'I'll be waiting for that.'

After a while, the Adventurer's Breakfast Sandwich was packed, and Kaeya also requested some bottled water. With that, they continued walking while eating their breakfast, heading toward a tavern called Angel's Share.

Angel's Share was a large establishment with three floors, known as a tavern that primarily sold alcoholic beverages, especially those made from wine.

This tavern was operated by Dawn Winery, which was owned by a man named Diluc, who also happened to be Kaeya's adoptive brother.

As they entered, a man at the bar addressed them.

'Sorry, we're not open yet.

Ah, Sir Kaeya, it's you.'

'Charles, is Diluc here?'

'The Master is upstairs, together with a bard.'

'I see. Is he busy?' Kaeya asked.

'I'm not sure.'

'Well, we'll check for ourselves.Let's go upstairs, Traveler, Paimon,' Kaeya said.

Aether and Paimon nodded.

As they reached the second floor, it was empty. Kaeya then opened a door that led to the staircase to the third floor, an area not accessible to the public.

Upon reaching the third floor, they spotted two people. One was Venti, and the other was a man with long red hair and a stern face.

'Venti?!' Paimon shouted.

'Yo, Traveler, Paimon! We meet again!' Venti greeted cheerfully.

'Oh? You know this bard?' Kaeya asked.

'He's the suspicious bard that the Sister at the Cathedral mentioned,' Paimon answered.

'Oh, I see. So it was you, huh?' Kaeya said, looking at Venti with great interest.

'Uh… Why are you looking at me like that?' Venti asked nervously.

Kaeya didn't answer but instead turned to Diluc and asked,

'So, how did this bard end up here?'

'He came here while running from the Knights of Favonius, as he was suspected of stealing Holy Lyre der Himmel. And according to him, this is the safest place to hide,' Diluc explained.

'That order has been revoked, so the Knights of Favonius won't be chasing him anymore,' Aether said.

'Oh, really? As expected of the Guardian Knight!I bet it was you who cleared my name from suspicion, right?' Venti grinned.

'Guardian Knight? So that's you, huh?I also heard that you're an S-rank adventurer.' Diluc commented.

'Nice to meet you, Master Diluc.I've also heard about you.And about that S-rank title, I don't think I really deserve it yet…At that time, I was only using borrowed power,' Aether humbly replied.

'You're quite modest. Not only that, but despite being an outsider, you willingly offered your help to Mondstadt when it needed you most. For that, I sincerely thank you.'

'However… it's truly a shame. Why did you join the Knights of Favonius? They are completely unreliable.Even just having an S-rank adventurer title should be enough,' Diluc said, sighing.

'Hey, I'm still here, you know,' Kaeya interjected.

'So, what brings you here?' Diluc asked.

'We've found a lead on who stole Holy Lyre der Himmel, but for certain reasons, we can't take direct action yet.'

'Fatui, right?' Diluc guessed.

'Yeah.'

'Even though you know who the culprit is,you're too afraid to act?As expected, the Knight Of Favonius are still useless,' Diluc scoffed.

Kaeya just shrugged at Diluc's comment.

'Um, Traveler… it seems like Master Diluc really doesn't like the Knights of Favonius, huh?' Paimon whispered.

'Yeah… but I'm sure he has his reasons,' Aether whispered back.

Diluc then asked,

'Give me a reason—why do you care so much about Holy Lyre der Himmel?Other than its cultural value, there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about it.'

'If your answer satisfies me, I'll help you.'

'Well, Traveler knows the reason best,' Kaeya said.

'You must have heard that I received the Anemo Archon's blessing when I fought Dvalin, right?' Aether asked.

'Yes.'

'He contacted me again, and wants to borrow Holy Lyre der Himmel to summon Dvalin and heal him.'

'Heal him?'

'There seems to be some things I don't know, do you guys mind telling me?'

'No problem. But for a better storytelling experience… why don't we let our bard, Venti, narrate it? Since he knows the story well,' Aether suggested.

'Eh? Me? I mean, I don't mind… but… will I get paid for this?' Venti asked.

'One bottle of Dandelion Wine,' Diluc replied.

'Deal!'

Venti then began to tell the tale of the battle between Dvalin and Durin.

'An interesting story.'

'Alright, I'll help you find Holy Lyre der Himmel.

Come back tonight, after the tavern closes,' Diluc said.

Kaeya, Aether, and Paimon nodded at Diluc's words.

With that, the three of them left Angel's Share, While Venti stayed behind to enjoy his bottle of Dandelion Wine.
