Chapter 14: [14] Time Flies, The World Runs
WC: 2194
-3rd POV-
In a lonely meadow in the middle of nowhere, Meliodas sat peacefully on his rocking chair, the soft wind of Mondstadt blowing through his long black hair that was put up into a high ponytail.
"It's been six years, huh?" Meliodas muttered under his breath in nostalgia, his gaze lingering at the mountain ranges that were spread across the horizon.
It has been a long six since Meliodas arrived at this world. From what he'd thought would be an awesome isekai adventure turned into a babysitting job. Well, it wasn't like that was a bad thing since he cared for them, but he really would have liked to not have spent 6 years raising some random kids for system rewards.
But you might be asking "Why the hell is Meliodas sitting in the middle of nowhere?"
It was because the time had come.

<[MIssion: Time Flies, The World Runs
+Description: After six years, you have managed to help your children reach 3/10 of their potential. Now it is time to help them break their limits and send them off on their own journey, along with a few gifts of course. Afterall, there is no better teacher than real-life experience.
+Reward: 6XRandom Rewards (Depending on how many of your kids reach 4/10 potentia
----------
The support system gives out rewards through two ways-one, every 2 of 10 potential points reached by the target earns you a reward, meaning that you could get a Max of 5 rewards per person. Usually, the rewards earned this way are C-Rank or higher.
The second option is random missions. The system can give out random missions which are separated into two sections.
First form of quest is a "Support Quest" where once one of the people under your tutelage reaches a certain rank with one of their skill, you earn a reward. The only thing is that the rewards range from E-EX.
The second form of random missions in "World Quest". These questions are related to the main story of the world the user currently reside in. These quests can also give E-EX rank rewards.
In simple words, it was time to send his sons and daughters into a new journey.
"Dad?" A soft voice spoke behind him.
He didn't need to turn around and see them to know who the person was, including the sound of six pairs of feet walking towards him, it was obvious that it was his kids.
-Violet POV-
Father was gone this morning, along with uncle Sleipnir and uncle Drupus(Crepus). When we had all woken up, we noticed that there was no sign of his at home, all that was left was a note handwritten by him.
----
Meet me where it all began
-Your Dad
----
"Meet me were it all began?" Esdeath softly muttered under her breath in confusion, her annoyance at our fathers' antics were evident from her constant eye twitch. She has this tic where here body twitches when she's holding back or when she annoyed.
"Where it all began, think he could be talking about THAT place?" Sinbad questioned, his hand rubbing the invisible beard on his face. It was unusual for him to be this...serious. Usually, he's laid back and always joking, just how father is-but that silly side wasn't present right now.
He was worried, all of us are worried...
Because if the place dad mentioned is where we think it is...I don't want to think about it anymore.
No, we can't even think about it even if we wanted to. None of us can remember anything before the night he had saved us from those bastards!
Sigh~
"Let's go, we shouldn't make father wait any longer" Reinhart curtly commented as he began to walk out the door of the house.
Huh, rude as always. He's always been a bit cranky with other people and is a bit rude, but Reinhart a good person. He's especially fond of father, just like Esdeath. They're both also battle maniacs, which is one of the two things they are both very similar in.
-3rd POV-
Mitsuri, Asuna, Reinhart, Esdeath, Sinbad, and I finally arrived at the location.
It was a patch of land hidden deeply in Wolvendom, multiple abandoned tents and equipment with the Fatui sigil embedded on them were scattered.
"The place looks abandoned" Asuna said, her light steps echoing through the forest.
"KYAAAA!!!" Mitsuri suddenly screamed, catching everyone off-guard.
*SHING!*
Everyone drew their spears and swords; all their attention being directed towards Mitsuri.
A corpse layed there at her feet. Mitsuri had accidentally stepped on a corpse that was hidden under some overgrown vegetation, which had scarred the fuck out of her.
Everyone sighed in relief as they realized that there was no real danger, just their scaredy cat of a sister.
*Plap*
"Ouch!!" Mitsuri shouted in pain as Asuna slapped her on the back off the head and stormed off.
"Geez, why did she hit me so hard?!" Mitsuri pouted as she rubbed the back of her head.
'Because she's scarred of ghosts' Everyone though at the same time. It wasn't unknown to everyone, except Mitsuri, that Asuna was SUPER scarred of ghosts for whatever reason, thus why she was so mad.
Asuna was already scared out enough by the creepy dark forest, and Mitsuri's yell was her breaking point.
"Let's keep moving...I don't like this place" Sinbad said, the frown on his face becoming clearer as he took in the sightings of the Fatui camp.
Everyone nodded as they began to move in deeper into the camp, with the exception of Esdeath.
As everyone left, she stayed behind. She approached the uncovered legs.
Leaning down on them she grabbed the remaining vegetation and removed it, revealing the rest of the body. Her eyes widened as she saw the state the upper half of the skeleton was in.
The whole top was diced into cubes, leaving the only intact part of the skeleton being the legs.
"What the fuck?" she muttered under her breath as she saw the floor as well. The ground beneath was also deeply cut in a vertical diamond pattern. And the cuts stretched out about 100 meters out which was about two school pools long.
But the size of the cuts wasn't what was worrying, it was about who made these cuts in the first place.
-Scene Change-
After Esdeath's small inspection, she decided to finally catch up to the others. As she finally arrived, she noticed that they were all waiting at the foot of a hill.
As she approached them, she asked "have you found him?"
At her question, Reinhart pointed at the very top of the hill.
"That..." Esdeaths eyes widened as he saw Meliodas sitting on a wooden rocking chair at the tip of the hill, what shocked her was the outfit Meliodas was wearing.
It was a white, double-breasted trench coat that has the Wandenreich symbol on the middle, with large, buttoned cuffs and lapels, white trousers, and trench boots. Over this he wore a tattered, ankle-length, maroon-black cloak that has a red ribbon near the neck and is fastened to the left with a single large button.
"UGH!!" A sudden wave of nausea hit Esdeath's head like a truck. A wave of incomplete thoughts and fragmented memories flooded her brain.
She tried to stop the flow, but they just kept coming. But suddenly, in the sea of constant chaos that went through her head, a single but fuzzy memorie became clear enough.
-----
"Wow, mom. Shes so small" A blue haired kid watched her in the memories from above, Esdeath laying down on her back.
A beautiful woman that also had blue hair joined the frame, her smile was gentle, especially when she was looking at her. But there was a problem with her, the womans face looked a bit pale, almost as if she hadn't slept in weeks.
"Be quiet, Ayato. Yuki is falling asleep" The woman softly reprimanded him.
-----
As the memory ended, Esdeath gasped for air. Her knees became weak and sweat ran down her forehead, Luckly her siblings held her up to prevent her from falling on her face.
"Did you see it too?" Sinbad asked. All of them had similar episodes when they had first seen their fathers' clothes. it was as if the outfit had triggered some deeply buried memories inside of them.
"Yeah, but they're...fuzzy" Muttered Esdeath, her head still hurting a bit from the previous influx of broken memories.
As soon as they finally made sure she was fine, they began walking up the hill.
-Scene Change-
"Dad?" Violets soft voice spoke behind Meliodas. He could hear the soft steps of the others coming right up behind him as well.
Meliodas stepped up from his chair and turned around to face them. The maroon cloak that was draped over his shoulders, concealing the upper half of his white Quincy uniform, flapped with the wind.
"you're wearing it..." Reinhart looked at Meliodas as if he was Michael Jordan announcing that he was coming out of retirement right in front of you after leaving the NBA for ten years.
"This old thing? I had to take it out of the closet for today is a special occasion~" Meliodas chuckled in a playful tone, trying to lighten the mood.
But that actually had seemed to have had the opposite effect on them for some reason. It made his children nervous since the last time they saw him wear it was the time he left a lasting impression on them, saving them at the same time.
Infact, the outfit had been imprinted in their minds, specifically Esdeath and Reinhart, that they wore clothes similar to Meliodas's Quincy uniform.
[Esdeath IMG]
[Reinhart IMG]
Sensing the tense atmosphere coming from them, Meliodas sighed.
*BOOM!*
A foreboding sense of dread washed throughout the six of them. They all felt their souls tremble as they felt Meliodas's spiritual pressure come down on them.
Melioas reached behind him, unsheathing a curved shorts sword with a Dragon emblem into its hilt and five holes along the middle of the sharp blade, and 5 half-moon holes along the other side of the blade. The blade is split into two different colors, the sharp part is silver, and the opposite is a dark green moss.
"Sorry kids, this might be too much, but it's for the best" Meliodas spoke as a sad and guilty tone took over his voice.
Cursed technique, [Wrath]
Even greater dread washed upon the forcefully kneeling children as dark veins spread through his arm and neck. A cold and lifeless look overtook his pupils, sending shivers down the already afraid kids.
Meliodas moved his arm over the shoulder opposite of the one holding the short sword, the veins in his arms bulging blue as he pumped [Reishi] into them. Planting his feet into the ground, he swung his sword.
"Thousand Divine Cuts!" He shouted as the world turned black and white.
-Scene Change(Yes, Again)-
From a distant mountain, a certain blue haired man whistled in impressment as he saw Meliodas shred the forest he was in into cubes.
"Hahah! Cap still has it in him" Ban who was spying on Meliodas's little test from afar spoke in delight.
"Yeah, brings back...memories" Spoke another man as he walked up to Ban, his tone nostalgic, yet he couldn't say that he missed those times.
He was of average height with a wiry, athletic build. His skin is a rich dark brown, contrasting sharply with his thick white hair. He styles his hair into bundled locks on top of his head, with the sides buzzed short.
He sat down next to Ban, his feet dangling on the edge of the massive clift.
"I'm surprised though, I thought the old man had...died" The man sighed as he looked at Meliodas from a distance.
"Well, Ekko, you should know that he can't die, even if he wanted to" Ban said, his tone contrasting his previous cheerful expression.
"I'm curious though, why haven't you told the others he's still alive?" Ekko asked. He known a lot of people that would literally DIE to know his current status.
"The captain has amnesia, to a certain degree that is. He's severely weaker than before but the skills and abilities are still there." Ban replied as he popped a cashew into his mouth.
"So, you don't want the others knowing about him until his memories return?" Ekko asked as his curiosity peaked.
"Yeah, throwing him into 'that' mess would just confuse the fuck out of him" Ban chuckled slightly as he imagined a certain someone he knows yelling and reprimanding Meliodas for three days and nights straight!
Ekko smiled wryly as he nodded in agreement, if the others knew Meliodas was alive...there's no knowing what would happen.
"But why tell me?" Ekko asked.
"Heh, you should know..." Ban replied, eyeing the turquoise sword that was hanging on Ekko's back.
"So just in case Dad goes...a bit far?" Ekko asked
"Yeah, use your Shikai just in case" Ban replied, his eyes returning to the battle going on below.
