Liyue, Jueyun Karst.

Paimon and Lumine stared at Cloud Retainer, their eyes wide in shock.

"W-Wait a minute! What do you mean by 'subduing Liyue Harbor'? Are you planning to destroy the entire city?!"

Cloud Retainer responded in a calm, indifferent tone.

"A swift and decisive approach is necessary to prevent further chaos."

Paimon couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"B-But you're one of the Adepti who protect Liyue!"

Cloud Retainer nodded slightly.

"Precisely. We have upheld the Geo Archon decree, safeguarding Liyue for over 3,700 years. However, now that wicked individuals run rampant, we must resort to extraordinary measures."

Before things could escalate further, Qiu Bai suddenly stepped forward.

"Wait! I have something to say!"

His voice carried weight, making even the Adepti pause for a moment.

"Adepti, we came here to ask for your protection over Liyue Harbor, not for its suppression."

"At the very least, shouldn't you listen to what the people have to say first?"

Cloud Retainer turned to glance at Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver behind her.

"You two old fossils, do you have any opinions on this matter?"

Moon Carver exchanged glances with Mountain Shaper before replying in a calm tone.

"This matter requires careful deliberation."

He then turned his gaze toward Qiu Bai, Lumine, and Paimon.

"Traveler, take the 'Amulet of Absolute Purity' and seek out the Conqueror of Demons. Inform him of these events."

"As for us, we have duties to attend to. You should take your leave for now."

Without another word, the three Adepti took to the skies, disappearing into the clouds.

As she left, Cloud Retainer cast an extra glance at Qiu Bai, as if contemplating something.

Qiu Bai turned to Lumine.

"So, where should we go now?"

Paimon tilted her head in thought.

"That Adeptus just now mentioned looking for someone called 'The Conqueror of Demons' Maybe we should start there!"

Lumine nodded in agreement but then paused.

"But, do you even know where to find him?"

Qiu Bai folded his hands behind his back and replied in an amused tone.

"The Three-Eyed Five-Manifestations Adeptus, Xiao or as some call him, the 'Three-and-a-Half-Inch Adeptus'."

Lumine, who was just about to take a step forward, suddenly froze.

She scratched her head with a blank expression.

"Where exactly is the Conqueror of Demons? That Adeptus didn't tell us."

Paimon also turned to Qiu Bai, confused.

"Yeah! How are we supposed to find him?!"

Qiu Bai smirked and said casually,

"No worries, I know where he is. Our destination is Wangshu Inn!"

As he spoke, a distant look flashed in his eyes.

"Xiao, huh... It's been a thousand years. His karmic burdens must have worsened by now."

"Once this is all over, I should help him cleanse some of it."

Paimon puffed up her cheeks in frustration.

"You knew all along and still asked us?!"

She crossed her arms and glared at Qiu Bai, clearly annoyed.

The group continued their playful banter as they made their way toward Wangshu Inn.

After walking for a while, Qiu Bai suddenly stopped and turned to look at Lumine and Paimon.

"This pace is too slow, isn't it?"

Lumine and Paimon looked at him in confusion, but before they could ask, Qiu Bai said with a smirk:

"Hold onto me, Lumine and Paimon."

Although still puzzled, they instinctively grabbed onto Qiu Bai's sleeve.

The next moment, a sudden shift in space made their heads spin. When their vision stabilized, they found themselves already standing in front of Wangshu Inn.

The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow across the lit-up Wangshu Inn, while the distant Dihua Marsh shimmered under the evening sky.

Qiu Bai gazed at the familiar sight and let out a nostalgic sigh.

"Wangshu Inn, huh? It's been so long since I last came here and now it looks like this."

A thousand years ago, this land had been infested with demons, a battlefield where the remains of fallen Archons and evil spirits had corrupted the area.

For centuries, Xiao alone had fought tirelessly to cleanse the karmic filth left behind.

Qiu Bai couldn't help but sigh again.

Meanwhile, Lumine and Paimon stood frozen, staring at the inn in shock.

Then, as if suddenly realizing something, they turned to stare at Qiu Bai in disbelief.

"W-What kind of Adeptus art is this?!"

Paimon crossed her arms and glared at Qiu Bai.

"You're like a moving Statue of The Seven!"

Lumine thought to herself.

Qiu Bai chuckled at her reaction.

"This isn't some Adeptus art, little Paimon."

"But since we're here, let's go find the Conqueror of Demons."

Paimon pouted and stomped her foot.

"Stop dodging the question, you trickster! This is so unfair!"

Lumine gently patted Paimon's head and spoke softly.

"Paimon, everyone has their secrets, right?"

"It's not polite to keep pressing for answers."

Hearing that, Paimon turned away, crossing her arms in frustration.

"Fine, fine! I won't ask anymore."

She then glanced at Wangshu Inn, taking in the beautiful scenery.

"So this is Wangshu Inn, huh? The view is amazing!"

Suddenly, Paimon's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Wait a second! Since this is an inn, that means there must be delicious food, right?"

"We haven't eaten all day! Let's go check it out!"

"Food?"

As soon as Paimon mentioned it—

Guuuuu~~

A loud stomach growl echoed through the quiet air.

Lumine's face turned red with embarrassment, as her stomach betrayed her.

Qiu Bai couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable she looked.

"Come with me. This meal's on me!"

Though a god's body wouldn't suffer from hunger, one could still crave delicious food.

Before Qiu Bai even finished his sentence, Paimon face had already lit up with joy.

It seemed like nothing made her happier than the thought of food.

"Yay! Qiu Bai, you're the best!"

Lumine face lit up with a smile. After all, she and Paimon had been roughing it in the wilderness, surviving on whatever they could find. A proper meal was a rare luxury.

Since Madam Ping had yet to give her a Serenitea Pot, she had no place to call home.

"Thank you, Qiu Bai."

Lumine expressed her gratitude sincerely.

Qiu Bai simply waved his hand dismissively.

"Come on, what's with the formalities?"

"We're friends. Let's go! Today's my treat, so eat to your heart's content!"

With that, the group headed into Wangshu Inn.

Just as they were about to find a table, Qiu Bai suddenly stopped and looked up toward a certain spot on the upper floors of the inn.

"Before we eat, we have somewhere to go first."

Paimon tilted her head in confusion.

"Huh? Where to? What could possibly be more important than food?"

Lumine sighed, placing a hand on her forehead.

"Paimon, did you forget why we came to Wangshu Inn in the first place?"

Paimon froze.

"Oh, right! We're here to find the Conqueror of Demons!"

She smacked her forehead in frustration, realizing she had almost completely forgotten their mission.

A soft chuckle escaped Qiu Bai's lips.

"Pfft~"

Paimon immediately turned to glare at him.

"Hey! If you're gonna laugh, at least don't do it where I can hear it!"

"Besides, an empty stomach makes it harder to think, okay?!"

Qiu Bai quickly stifled his laughter and nodded.

"Alright, alright. Let's go find him now."

Lumine and Paimon nodded in agreement and followed Qiu Bai up the stairs leading to the rooftop terrace.

As they stepped onto the terrace, Paimon marveled at the sight.

"Wow! So this is the rooftop? The view is incredible! You can see everything from up here!"

But after scanning the area, she frowned.

"Huh? But where's the Adeptus?"

Lumine, on the other hand, was drawn to the breathtaking scenery. She walked toward the railing, resting her hands on it as she gazed into the distance.

Qiu Bai stood behind her, feeling the gentle breeze brush against his face.

This place wasn't just peaceful, it was a rare spot of beauty in all of Liyue.

A small smile formed on his lips.

Just then, he sensed someone approaching.

"Mortal eyes are easily deceived."

A calm, youthful voice suddenly echoed beside Lumine.

Paimon let out a startled yelp, flinching at the unexpected voice.

Lumine instinctively turned toward the sound, her hand reflexively going to her chest.

She had been caught off guard, too.
