Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 526: Tundra's Raid

Tundra smiled after seeing the message from their Clan Leader. After all, since Shane believed that he could complete the raid, his confidence had shot up and he felt that could do anything at this point.

After this, he indeed decided to distribute the items Shane was talking about.

His companions for the raid gathered around him and laid out the equipment Shane had sent to support their mission.

The items were already upgraded by Shane so they all looked incredible.

Especially the four sets of armor.

Their dark shine was also quite eerie, showing how intimidating it was.

These were certainly no ordinary pieces of armor—they were the Abyssal Sets and they were all dropped by the Doom of Abyss or the second Zombie Lord that Shane and the others had eliminated.

Tundra picked up one set and handed it to Lady Seraph. "This is yours, Seraph. The Abyssal's Mask, Mantle, Plate Armor, Gauntlets, Belt, Greaves, and Boots. You'll need every ounce of protection these can offer. They also have set effects that might be useful against the Zombie Lord we will be fighting."

Seraph inspected the intricate design of the armor. Her eyes narrowed as she examined the craftsmanship.

"Shane doesn't hold back, does he?" she muttered with a smirk before beginning to don the armor. She knew that these sets weren't easy to obtain. She couldn't help but feel surprised how Shane obtained not just one but four sets of them!

It even felt as if Shane had crafted them himself since she knew how difficult it was if it could only be obtained from Zombie drops.

Tundra then passed another set to Knight Alaric, one of the Aura Knights, who seemed to be about the same level as Lady Seraph.

"Alaric, you're wearing this as well. Your strength in the front lines will help me ."

The third set went to Atlas, the towering Super Soldier. "Atlas," Tundra said, "with your enhancements and this armor, you'll be our unbreakable wall."

Tundra really needed these three tanks in order for him to safely touch the Zombie Lord and plant his bombs.

The final set was, of course, for himself. He needed to get close to the Lord Zombie after all. It would not be easy unless he had enough speed or defense.

His speed relies heavily on Shane's gift, the Five-Meter Jump Skill. As for his defense, he would rely on this armor.

Tundra strapped on the Abyssal armor and it didn't take long before he felt its unnatural energy meld with his own Spiritual Energy.

The mask then provided him some calmness and the mantle flowed behind him as though alive…

Then, the moment he secured the full set, a notification flickered across his vision.

[ 3 Abyssal Armor Set Equipped: All Attributes +15%, Damage Resistance +10%, Aura Amplification +15% ]

[ 5 Abyssal Armor Set Equipped: Abyssal Resilience: Grants immunity to minor status effects such as Poison, Paralysis, and Fear. Reduces incoming elemental damage (Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Corruption) by 20%. ]

[ 7 Abyssal Armor Set Equipped: Abyssal Wrath: Increases damage dealt by 15% when health drops below 50%. If health drops below 25%, a dark aura is unleashed, dealing periodic damage to nearby enemies and increasing movement speed by 30%. ]

Monk Chaloem observed the process quietly and seeing Tundra looking at him, he smiled.

"I require no armor," he said, holding up his bare hands. "My aura is my shield."

Tundra nodded in acknowledgment before turning to the other items Shane had provided: Protection Tokens, Veiled Step Tokens, and Phantasm Rush Tokens. Each member received two of each.

Bartholomew, the manor's resident brewmaster, then walked in carrying two crates of ale.

"I'm not late, am I? Here! Berserk Ale for heightened strength and Thunder Ale for speed," he explained, handing over the bottles. "Drink wisely. These aren't for casual use."

Tundra felt elated after seeing his arrival.

He knew very well that Bart's alcohol could be sold for at least 100 Zombie Cores each in the market!

"Thank you, Sir Bart!" Tundra immediately showed his gratitude.

It didn't even end there, Aya, the Shame and talisman crafter, entered next, presenting a bundle of glowing parchments.

"I received Sir Shane's instructions. Lightning Talisman for offense, Strength Talisman for reinforcement, and Healing Talisman for emergencies," she said coldly.

Once again, Tundra was overwhelmed and thanked the shy Shaman who had visited them.

Apparently, it didn't even end there… This morning, Diana had actually sent him a message and traded some items with him.

Indeed, Diana from the Silver Mining Camp sent five pouches of Spirit Stones to them under Shane's instructions.

With the Spirit Vein under their possession, their supply of Spirit Stones had already gone through the roof. Sending them some Spirit Stones was not a big deal for them at all.

Tundra felt his hands shake as it seemed that Shane was truly looking forward to his success.

'With all these supports they've given me… I can't fail this raid.' Tundra thought to himself as he was now determined to win this.

With their gear ready the team felt confident as they prepared to leave.

Soon, the group set out in a sturdy carriage, drawn by a pair of heavily armored steeds.

Needless to say, these steeds weren't something they just found in the forest. They were traded to them by the Neutral Shelters who had come to trade some crops and various resources like talismans, beers, and even tokens…

Anyway, the road to the Zombie Lord's territory wasn't that long. After passing through some rough roads and crumbling bridges they were already about to arrive at their destination…

They just had to endure another hour as the carriage rocked and swayed throughout their journey…

Tundra sat at the front of the carriage, scanning the horizon with his binoculars. "We're about to enter dangerous ground," he warned. "Stay sharp."

Lady Seraph and her knights maintained their weapons… Although it was already getting dark, they weren't planning to stop here.

Atlas, on the other hand, wasn't worried. He tinkered with his equipment, ensuring everything was in working order. He was even thinking of having his armor customized by Leo, the blacksmith in the manor.

It was also the same for Chaloem, who was just meditating quietly.

As they neared the outskirts of the abandoned city they were aiming for, a cold wind swept through the air…

"That smelled bad…" Seraph commented.

Indeed, the air was carrying the unmistakable stench of decay.

"Do we have gas masks? Well, it's still bearable but I'm not so sure inside the city." Alaric muttered.

"Just use your Aura for now." Tundra suggested. After all, everyone aside from him, could use Aura.

Nonetheless, with his necklace that provides him protection from abnormal status effects, he was able to easily ignore the smell.

Everyone nodded at his instruction but they still didn't use their aura and decided to endure it until they could.

They then tied the horses and left the carriage outside the city.

[ Warning: You are about to enter a Lord-Tier Zombie's Territory. Proceed with caution. ]

Seeing the warning, everyone drew their weapons.

Within the ruined city, they saw crumbling buildings, destroyed vehicles, broken poles, holes in the ground, and the streets were littered with debris.

Their arrival didn't even last for 10 seconds before the ground trembled beneath their feet.

Thud… Thud… Thud…

Just like that, a massive figure emerged from the ruins ahead of them.

Standing over fifteen feet tall, its body was covered in stone-like plates. Its glowing red eyes locked onto the group as it let out an earth-shaking roar.

Roooaaar!

"Earth King Zombie?!" Tundra was shocked. The last time they scouted this place with the Elves, they only found a bunch of high-tier Earth Zombies!

He couldn't help but think that someone attempted to clear this place but failed in the end. Perhaps, they had eliminated those Earth Zombies and escaped after seeing the Earth King Zombie!

"It's indeed an Earth King Zombie, it has Earth Manipulation, Reinforced Defense, and Ground Slam Skills. According to Lady Raze."

Tundra's grip tightened around his Abyssal blade. "Looks like we're being welcomed properly," he said grimly.

Lady Seraph stepped forward as he sword was suddenly filled with her Aura…

"This should be a good warm-up before fighting against the boss." She added.

Tundra agreed immediately as he also considered doing with that plan.

"Let's try to defeat it while thinking it's the Zombie Lord." Tundra said.

Since that was the plan, they had to allow Tundra to do the last hit by blasting the Earth King Zombie's body with Tundra's Terrorist Talent.

Boom!

The Earth King Zombie slammed its massive fists into the ground, sending shockwaves toward the group.

"Ha!"

Atlas leaped forward, his cybernetic legs absorbed the impact as he opened fire with his rifle.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The blue energy bolts slammed into the creature's chest, but its rocky armor absorbed much of the damage.

"So tough…"

Chaloem then rushed with inhuman speed, landing a series of punches on the zombie's joints.

There even seemed to be a golden light as his aura manifested for a little.

"Aim for its weak points and control its movements." He called out.

These Aura Users immediately worked together while Tundra was looking for an opportunity to use his Five Meter Jump Skill to touch the Earth King Zombie's head!
