MTLNOVEL Chapter 762: Shopping Spree
Through the window, Shane saw that there were tall shelves stacked with books, scrolls, and handwritten journals.
It seemed normal.
But Shane felt that there could be other things being sold here since he had seen five or so customers a while ago, before he entered the Mariner's Vault…
With that in mind, he entered the store.
A middle-aged woman behind the counter greeted him.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" she asked.
She knew that these visitors from another realm didn't have a lot of time to look around. They would disappear in a day or sometimes, even less than that. Because of that, they would be less likely to browse through some books in her store.
So she wanted to help them quickly find what they needed.
Shane thought for a moment and asked… "Do you sell more than books?"
Without another word, she reached under the counter and pulled out a display tray.
Inside were a dozen scrolls. They were all tied with colored thread denoting their tier.
A green thread for low-tier scroll, blue for mid, and red for high.
"These are Survivor Skill Scrolls."
Shane was familiar with them. Just like that, the woman gave him the list of skills he could purchase.
There were actually 6 low-tier, 4 mid-tier, and 2 high-tier skill scrolls.
[ Low-Tier Skills
Fishing Skill – Teaches the basics of fishing in rivers, lakes, and coastal waters. Increases catch rate and reduces bait consumption.
Mining Skill – Improves efficiency when extracting ores, crystals, and rare minerals. Reduces tool durability loss.
Sculpting Skill – Allows shaping of stone, wood, or bone into intricate designs. It can be used for decoration or to craft certain ritual items.
Herbal Gathering Skill – Identifies edible or medicinal plants, increasing yield and reducing risk of poisoning.
Cooking Skill – Boosts the nutritional value and minor restorative effects of prepared meals.
Basic Cartography – Enables creation of simple but accurate maps, marking terrain, resource points, and hazards. ]
These skills weren't important to Shane. Perhaps, if this were the early stage of the Apocalypse, he would consider these items.
However, he already has these skills, or they were already something he didn't need.
[ Mid-Tier Skills
Swordsmanship Skill – Improves speed, precision, and defensive techniques with bladed weapons. Unlocks basic combat stances.
Archery Skill – Enhances accuracy, draw speed, and range with bows and crossbows. Includes wind compensation.
Alchemy Mastery Skill – Expands knowledge of potion brewing, transmutation, and material refinement. Increases the success rate for rare concoctions.
Beast Handling – Grants the ability to train, calm, or command tamed animals or beasts. Reduces risk of injury when interacting with hostile animals. ]
"Well… I don't think I need these skills as well." Shane muttered to himself. He already had these skill or something similar or even better than them.
Then, he turned to the next tier.
[ High-Tier Skills
Impulse Shift – Converts stored kinetic energy into a sudden explosive dash in any direction, even mid-air.
Force Redirection – Instantly redirects or absorbs the force of an incoming attack. Works with physical and some energy-based strikes. ]
"Now… This is something…"
After reaching Level 80, the current cap level, he already possessed a lot of Skills.
They were from his Tattoo Skills, Fused Skills, purchased, and the ones he looted…
He had various movement-based skills like Phantom Rush, Shadow Hunt, Predator's Edge, Spectral Tracker, Veiled Steps, and others. So at first, he wasn't too interested in the Impulse Shift since he could somehow compare it with his Armored Dash.
However, Impulse Shift was quite a decent skill to be fused with Armored Dash…
As for defense, he already had his new Obsidian Hide, Aura Sentinel, Resilience Protocol, Sturdy Stance, Tension Control, Elemental Resistance, and others…

Shane tapped the edge of the tray with one finger. "How much for each skill? Or is the price depending on their tier?"
The woman nodded as he explained the prices...
"Low-tier Skills are 300 points each. Mid-tier, 1,400 points. High-tier…" She paused just slightly, gauging his reaction. "They're 3,500 points apiece."
Shane didn't flinch. Instead, he glanced over the collection again.
"Plenty in stock?"
He already expected this price since the first Auction's Skill Scrolls were sold for around a thousand to three thousand points.
She smiled knowingly. "Plenty. These aren't one-off rarities—at least not this shipment. If you want bulk, I can bring more from the back."
"Good," Shane said, nodding. "I'll take a dozen of each tier. All types."
These words shocked the woman… This was her first large transaction in quite some time.
Apparently, Shane planned to distribute them to his Clan Members… Like a good incentive for missions they completed.
The woman was, of course, delighted upon realizing that she was about to get a lot of points.
Just from Low-Tier Skills, she could already get 21,600 Points if she got a dozen each. That would be 72 scrolls.
Then, for Mid-Tier, that would be 67,200 points for a total of 48 scrolls.
Finally, the 84,000 Points for 24 High-Tier Skill Scrolls.
Shane decided to continue with this transaction even with such a steep price. After all, there was a limit to the Skill Potion that he could make and the Skill Infusion Talent that he had.
Well, he couldn't really bestow them Survivor Skills with the Infusion Talent, since he could only do it on objects.
Furthermore, he felt that he was responsible for them... Aside from being part of his clan, they were 100% loyal to him, not because of his charisma or leadership skills, but because of his Talent.
With his Territory Lord Talent, everyone would become his followers as long as they stayed within his Shelter for a period of time.
"I hope you can help me quicken this transaction..." Shane said.
"Alright… Let's do a buyout instead. This is a large transaction anyway… Wait a moment." The woman said as she adjusted the pricing and payment method.
Soon, Shane processed the transactions through his device and spent a total of 172,800 Points!
That was a lot of points, but thankfully, there was also a gift for completing such a huge deal.
