Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 763: Prohibition

The amount of points he spent had certainly stung a little, but this was an investment for his army…

He knew very well, from his previous experience with other Apocalypses, that their world would soon be involved in another huge battle against the Zombies…

This Auction Event was for all of them to make some preparations for what was about to happen.

"You know… for a customer who makes such an incredible purchase, it's only right that I offer something extra." The storekeeper suddenly said.

Then, she reached under the counter again, but this time with deliberate care. From a hidden compartment, she withdrew a case, the kind used for rare and delicate items.

With a click, the case opened to reveal a single scroll.

It wasn't tied with any simple thread. Instead, a band of gold held it closed.

"This is a High-Grade Skill Fusion Scroll. Very rare. But it's something that we give away to our VIP customers once a year."

She then slid it toward him. "No extra charge. Consider it a gift, though I expect it will bring you far more value than it's worth in points. We just wish that you'd consider our store once again if you get to visit this place."

Shane was excited as he swiftly inspected the item.

[ High-Grade Skill Fusion Scroll: A magical scroll created by mysterious magicians. Unlike standard fusion scrolls, this artifact can merge already fused skills into entirely new, advanced abilities. Allows for complex, multi-layer fusion by combining multiple skill trees into one cohesive form.

Special Effect: Fusion success rate is 100% guaranteed, regardless of skill compatibility.

Restrictions: Can only be used once. Target skills must be of Rare grade or higher and must already be the result of a previous fusion.

Warning: The resulting skill will permanently overwrite both original skills. ]

Shane was elated upon seeing this.

There were several types of Skill Fusion Talisman or Scrolls after all.

One of them was the Compatible Fusion Scroll. It could only guarantee Skill Fusions that had great synergy.

If they do not have synergy, he would just be wasting the scroll itself, and it might even affect the Level Mastery of the skills he was trying to fuse.

In short, it would create some problems aside from wasting the scroll if he were not careful.

There were also Skill Fusion Talisman. He had quite a lot of them in his inventory, but they had a limited success rate, and you might have to use twice or three of them to get a decent result.

"This is incredible…" Shane muttered.

After all, merging already fused skills was always difficult.

"Do you like it?" The woman asked.

"Yes! I like it!" Shane immediately said, afraid that the woman would take it back.

With this scroll, a skill like Aura Sentinel from Aura of Protection, Vital Sense, and Fast Regeneration could be fused easily with Force Breaker that came from Shield Piercer, Vertical Slash, and Momentum Shift to create a hybrid ability with combined defensive and offensive properties.

However, that was just a sample that he had in mind. He had to consider carefully what Fused Skills he'd combine…

Shane's eyes lingered on the scroll longer than he intended. This was the kind of thing that could elevate his personal arsenal beyond anything most survivors could even imagine.

"Ahem… Just to make sure, you're giving this away for free, right?" he asked.

"Of course… I'm investing in repeat business," the woman replied with a knowing smile.

Shane then stored the scroll in his System Inventory. "You'll get it."

With that, he stepped back out to go deeper into the bazaar.

As he moved along, he heard more merchants still shouting their deals, performers kept playing their instruments, and the smell of food from time to time. But all of that was drowned out by the sharp, raw shouts coming from a nearby street.

Shane turned his head.

"Hmm? Is there a fight?" Shane was confused.

A crowd had formed in a wide, open space near a store. It was ringed in by shouting onlookers.

Apparently, two Survivors, both men and armed, were locked in a battle.

"Seriously? Isn't that prohibited? Do they want to get thrown away?" Shane shook his head as he believed that these two weren't part of the previous Regional Auction…

In any case, he decided to see what would happen to them and watched their scuffle.

One was a tall man wielding a pair of hooked blades. The other was shorter but heavily built, carrying a steel-headed warhammer that could crack the road with every missed swing.

After listening to their conversation and what he heard from the onlookers, Shane immediately realized what was going on.

Apparently, they weren't fighting for territory or vendetta.

Shane caught sight of the real reason immediately.

Between them, bound in enchanted rope, was a young girl.

Her ears were furred and pointed…

At this time, it was twitching nervously with every clash of weapons near her.

"This…" Shane was shocked after seeing this…

The young girl had a cat-like tail behind her, while her slit-pupiled eyes were locked on the ground. Furthermore, there was a familiar slave collar of black iron resting around her neck.

It was a feline beastfolk. It was something that only those with Beast Blood Talent in the Apocalypse could obtain!

However, this young girl doesn't seem like a Foreign Survivor but a resident of this realm.

Then, Shane also noticed that behind the girl was a broad, greasy-looking man wearing layered vests and a chain of bronze coins around his neck.

'Ahh… The slave trader, I guess.' Shane mused. It was quite easy to understand.

Shane saw how the man smirked at the fight, clearly enjoying the spectacle.

From the crowd, voices rose in encouragement as they also liked the battle going on.

"Take him down, and she's yours!" someone shouted.

"Swing faster! He's tiring!" yelled another.

Shane frowned at this sight. Fighting in the bazaar was prohibited. He knew the guards would be here any second to shut this down—and when they did, all involved would be forcibly ejected back to the continent.
