Chapter 764: Penalty
The taller fighter slashed forward as his blades glowed with red light… He seemed to be using a Survivor Skill to end the match quickly!
This was definitely a dangerous move.
Bang!
The blade clashed against the Warhammer as Sparks scattered everywhere.
The impact had even created a shockwave, and the feline girl flinched from this display… However, the slave trader beside her just laughed at this scene.
He was clearly enjoying the show.
"Now… Why is it not being condemned by the system?" Shane mused as he knew that fighting was supposedly prohibited in this place.
However, even after some time, no one was acting and nothing was happening.
'Is there a loophole? Maybe it's because the fight was consented by the Slave Trader or something?' Shane mused…
At this time, the hammer-wielder roared and forced the other man a few steps away.
Thud!
The taller fighter didn't waste a heartbeat as soon as he found a chance.
His twin blades whirled again, each swing left an afterimage as the red glow intensified.
Whom~
The air even seemed to split as the movement was almost too fast for the eye to follow.
Boom!
The warhammer wielder met him head-on as he also let out another roar.
This battle was getting serious!
After another clash, the warhammer swept sideways, catching one of the blades mid-slash and nearly tearing it from its owner's grip.
"Keep going! You can do it!"
"For the slave girl!"
"Move faster! Hit him on his back!"
"Trip him! Don't bother with your honor! You just need to win!"
"Kill!"
The onlookers were also getting excited as they continued. They really wanted to see some blood as if this were the only exciting event in this realm.
"Just give it up, man!" The taller man shouted as he turned around and used the momentum to launch into a reverse slash that left a scar in the street.
Seeing this, the crowd roared in approval. They wanted this kind of battle!
The feline girl, however, was already as stiff as stone.
Shane couldn't help but pity her a little bit.
He still remembered his first visit to the Vault of Chains, where he bought several slaves as well. That place was private, and no one would know about the transactions happening in that place.
This place was completely different. They were actually fighting for a slave girl!
Her tail flicked sharply, and her ears started twitching with every clash.
"You're the one who should give up!"
The hammer wielder then changed his tactics. He stomped forward, and the streets started cracking beneath his boots.
With both hands, he lifted the warhammer high—too high for a defensive move.
Shane frowned after seeing the stance. It was simply too dangerous with the amount of energy he was gathering.
"Step back…" Someone from the crowd also noticed that it was getting more serious.
If it landed, the taller man's bones would shatter, and if it hit the ground, they would surely suffer from the shockwave.
Then, just like that, the hammer descended—
—but the taller man's blades crossed upward, catching the blow, creating another burst of sparks.
The shockwave this time was strong enough to make nearby market stalls sway. Thankfully, the onlookers had also backed away, so they weren't bothered by it.
"These guys are from Ironclad Collective, right?" Another survivor who had just arrived muttered.
"I'm not sure." Shane replied as he confirmed that he was talking to him.
The man then looked at Shane as he observed his Bio-Armor…
"Are you from the Shadowbinders Clan? That armor looks sick… Do you think I can buy one? I'm willing to pay up to 50,000 Zombie Cores. Ahhh… I'm Terrence by the way…"
Shane paused for a moment as Terrence was a name that he'd always see in the Regional and Global Chat…
"Terrence, huh…" Shane nodded.
"This is one of a kind, so I can't sell it."
"That's too bad… If you change your mind. I'm from Drakeheart Vanguard Clan. You can find me there."
Shane glanced at the man once again, since he knew that Drakeheart Vanguard was the clan that Travis had created.
"Alright…" Shane said, and the man just left like that. He was clearly uninterested in the battle going on…
Boom!
Suddenly, as Shane turned his attention back to the battle, he saw that the taller man was down to one knee.
His arms were trembling under the weight of the warhammer.
But then, his eyes turned red and he regained his strength!
"Haaahh!!" He then pushed the hammer aside and launched with his one blade… He slashed upward in and aimed at his opponent's ribs.
The crowd gasped while someone yelled, "Finish him!"
The warhammer wielder staggered back and was open… For a brief moment, it seemed the taller man would press his advantage and end the fight… However, the street fell silent.
And a wave of energy stopped the two from battling. This energy disrupted their use of Spirit Energy and pushed them both away from each other…
"Who dares?!" The taller man was obviously infuriated after being interrupted.
However, from the edges of the crowd, three figures in black armor marched forward.
They had a pair of long halberds and a blacksteel shield...
Just from their appearance, everyone could tell that they weren't common guards.
"Combat between participants is prohibited within the Neutral Zone. Cease immediately, and you'll only face a 100,000-point deduction." The lead guard announced.
Shane was shocked as he heard this. He thought that it was actually an instant disqualification.
"I guess they're also trying to earn System Points, huh." Shane muttered to himself, since this was certainly a lot more efficient than sending them back with points still within their BidLink Device…
As the two didn't speak or reply to the guards, the leader immediately signaled to his companions.
Just like that, the guards stepped forward and slammed their shields against the ground.
Boom!
This move created a shockwave that struck both fighters at the same time!
Clank! Clank!
Their weapons had also clattered to the streets…
The taller man finally realized his mistake and quickly spoke… "We had consent! It's part of the trade to get the girl!"
