Chapter 99: Confidence
I was confident that with the numerous SSS-ranked skills I had obtained thanks to my insane class, I could deal with them easily.
I opened the panel for the fourth skill.
4. Paradox Step (Passive) – SSS
Every third use of [Warp] leaves behind a "paradox after-image," lasting 3 seconds and carrying 50% of the original's strength. Multiple after-images can be triggered if the user chains Warps rapidly, and these images can overlap.
Note: After-images cannot create new paradoxes (prevents infinite loops).
I blinked once. Then again. And then a third time, just to be sure, because my brain refused to process what I was actually reading.
Damn. Another OP skill.
At this point, my head was fried from the sheer ridiculousness of what I was seeing.
"Fifty percent of my strength… every third Warp?" I muttered under my breath.
The thought alone made my head spin. If I chained my Warps quickly enough, I wouldn't just be teleporting across the battlefield—I'd be leaving behind a trail of phantom versions of myself, each one capable of fighting with half my strength.
A small army of me.
Three seconds of chaos, multiplied over and over.
I pictured a battlefield swarming with flickering after-images, a hundred half-strength goblins tearing through enemies in synchronized madness. The idea was equal parts thrilling and horrifying.
I exhaled a sharp laugh, rubbing my temples.
At least the system had been smart enough to put a cap on it—no infinite paradox loops of goblins shredding the world into confetti. Otherwise, reality itself might have just thrown in the towel.
Still… even with that limit, the possibilities were terrifying.
With Paradox Step, I wouldn't just fight. I'd overwhelm.
The battlefield would drown in me.
I shook my head hard, forcing myself to stop spiraling. No point scaring myself with what-ifs when the system wasn't done dropping bombs on me.
Because the next skill… oh, the next one was on another level entirely.
5. Sovereign's Domain – SSS
Eli projects a Dimensional Domain around himself (30m radius at base), bending space to his absolute advantage.
Inside the Domain:
For Eli & Allies: Movement speed and reaction time are amplified. Any movement type skills user possesses would have no cooldown. Projectiles and AoE effects slow dramatically, giving more time to dodge or counter.
For Enemies: Movement becomes distorted, steps feel heavier, distances stretch unnaturally, and attacks take longer to connect. Projectiles curve off-course, and AoE effects shrink in radius and power. Attempted teleportation or escape skills are blocked.
The Domain lasts 60 seconds.
Cost: 500 MP.
I gasped, a sharp breath tearing out of my chest.
This wasn't just a skill. It was a battlefield reset button.
I could drag enemies into my home turf—except the "home turf" was an entire pocket of reality bent to my will.
With this, I wouldn't just fight an enemy—I'd dominate them.
My allies would move like lightning, while every attack aimed at us would crawl like molasses.
Meanwhile, the poor bastard stuck inside with me would be fighting against reality itself.
It was basically a battle-ending move, a trump card against anything short of a monster like the Ember Fox Matriarch.
And looking at the cost—five hundred MP—it made sense.
Power on this scale wasn't meant to be cheap.
Still, with how broken it was, I couldn't even bring myself to complain.
Then there was…
6. Dimensional Gate (Active) – SSS
Tear open a gate to a Pocket Dimension filled with monsters that scale to Eli's current level.
Time flows differently: 1 hour inside = 10 minutes outside.
Monsters slain drop Dimensional Essence (Void energy) and grant full EXP.
Gates can only be opened once per day.
Amazing. Hehe.
A laugh burst out of me before I could even stop it—half disbelieving, half manic.
This wasn't just a skill… it was a cheat code.
A personal dungeon that scaled to my level. A private training ground where time bent in my favor.
Monsters dropping not only EXP but also a strange new currency called Dimensional Essence.
It was everything a grinder like me could dream of, wrapped up in a single skill.
And as if that wasn't insane enough… it tied directly into the final ability.
7. Essence Reforging (Passive)
Dimensional Essence harvested from slain monsters can be consumed to:
Restore HP/MP instantly.
Strengthen equipment by phasing it with void energy.
Temporarily enhance a clan member.
I stared at the description, rereading it just to make sure I wasn't imagining things.
From every monster I killed in that pocket dimension, I wouldn't just gain EXP—I'd harvest Dimensional Essence.
A currency I could spend however I needed.
Heal myself on the spot. Refill my mana instantly. Push my equipment past its limits by weaving void into the steel. Or even funnel power into my clan, boosting their strength when it mattered most.
I clenched my fist, the air trembling with the force of my excitement.
This wasn't just a class.
This was a toolkit that rewrote how I would fight, how I would lead, how I would survive.
Each skill stacked into the next, chaining together into something greater, something terrifying.
And standing there, reading through it all, I couldn't hold back the grin spreading across my face.
The skills this class had granted me were out of this world.
Far more than I had expected—so much, in fact, that it felt like I had been catapulted straight into OPness.
My fingers twitched with the urge to try them out immediately. Reading the descriptions was one thing, but I knew I wouldn't truly grasp their power until I tested them with my own hands.
Experimentation. That was the only way forward.
So I pushed myself up from the ground.
And instantly, I realized something was off.
The world around me didn't look the same. My perspective had shifted. Edges looked sharper, the cave ceiling felt lower, and even the distance between me and the fox seemed subtly… smaller.
"What the hell…"
I muttered, my voice low and uncertain.
Then it hit me as I stared at my arms.
Had I…
