God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 187: Chapter 186: Claire of the North Sea

Chapter 186: Claire of the North Sea

North Sea City, Nightmark Bar.

Inside a luxurious private room.

A potbellied middle-aged man sat with a scantily-clad woman dressed in a strapless top and hot pants. She fed him slices of orange, which he chewed lazily.

The man, though dressed immaculately, carried the shrewdness of a petty merchant in his expression, coupled with the refined airs of someone in power. This man was George Redfield, the Director of North Sea City's Security Division.

Seated opposite him on the sofa was a seductive woman in a striking purple dress, Claire.

Raising a glass of wine, Claire smiled charmingly and said, "Director George, I must thank you for looking out for me these past weeks."

George Redfield's eyes twinkled mischievously as he laughed heartily. "Oh, not at all, not at all!"

After downing a glass of wine with the help of the scantily-clad woman, George's face was slightly flushed. Slurring slightly, he said:

"Miss, I really admire you.

"You've carved out your own empire in North Sea City at such a young age.

"In the current scene, no one has a brighter spotlight than you!

"And you've got quite the eye for talent, discovering someone like Evan! Awakening both an A-level life ability and a combat ability—what exactly are his gifts? Even the Security Division hasn't figured it out yet, and frankly, I'm not keen to ask."

The woman before him was undoubtedly formidable.

In just a month, she had swept through North Sea City's underground forces, becoming the city's new criminal queen.

But there was a downside—she was a bit too audacious.

And audacity often leads to trouble.

George Redfield took out a cigarette, and the woman by his side giggled as she lit it for him.

He leered at her, his rough hand resting on her thigh as he chuckled. "And then there's this—who would've thought that besides Evan, you'd have another expert by your side? Today has been an eye-opener for me, as well as for those Divine family members. Hidden depths, hidden depths!"

Claire giggled. "Oh, come now. As a woman new to North Sea City, if I didn't keep some cards hidden, wouldn't I just be bullied to death by all these men?"

George burst out laughing. "Who could possibly bully you in North Sea City? That's nonsense!"

Claire sidled closer to George, her perfume intoxicating him further. Her gaze turned tender and sweet.

"Brother George, it's the Divine family that's bullying me! You're the protector of North Sea City—could you really bear to watch them push me around?"

A trace of disdain flickered in George's eyes.

Earlier that day, a shocking event had rocked North Sea City.

Everyone had believed Kate, presumed dead for years, had suddenly returned!

It was the birthday of the Divine family's patriarch, and Kate caused a commotion at the gathering.

She revealed that despite her loyalty and sacrifices for the Divine family, they had cursed and bound her with restrictions to control her.

Before the stunned crowd, Kate declared her intent to become the new head of the Divine family.

Most dismissed her as mad, but just then, the scantily-clad woman and a young man appeared.

In a display of overwhelming power, they killed a Divine family expert on the spot, stunning everyone present.

The real star of the day, however, soon arrived: Claire.

The Divine family had never taken Claire seriously. To their shock, she turned out to be the mastermind behind both Kate and Evan.

The so-called dead Divine family branch member, Kate, had risen from the ashes, while Claire had swiftly dominated North Sea's underground scene.

The Divine family immediately saw through Claire's plan: she had come to North Sea City to replace them as its ruler.

Mocking her for overestimating herself, they publicly issued a challenge: a life-and-death duel at Copper Bull Bay the following evening.

Claire agreed.

That afternoon, George Redfield, the Director of the North Sea Security Division, was mocking Claire's naivety. By evening, she had invited him to Nightmark Bar.

Claire's intentions were clear—she wanted George's help.

But how could George agree?

In North Sea City, the upper echelons knew that the Divine family had extraordinary forces backing them. Did she really think a few gold bricks and a couple of escorts would be enough to make him risk his life for her?

George would rather return all the gold bricks he had received from Claire in the past.

With a sigh, George said, "Miss, this time I truly can't help you.

"I'm a man of the National Security Division—I can't get involved in disputes like this. However, I can promise that, no matter who loses tomorrow, I'll ensure that the loser keeps their life."

Of course, this statement was more about saving face than anything else.

No one thought Claire stood a chance.

Taking on the Divine family with just Evan? The Divine family had two B-tier experts and the backing of the Moon Worship Sect!

Claire's face showed disappointment, and she looked as though she was on the verge of tears. "So, Brother George, you're saying you won't help anyone? Fine.

"But don't you dare go back on your word and suddenly help the Divine family bully me!"

George's eyes flickered with mockery as he replied, "Of course. I won't help the Divine family—I promise."

Inwardly, he scoffed. Ridiculous! Help the Divine family? Do they even need my help?

What a shame about this beauty—by tomorrow, she'll be gone for good.

After exchanging a few more polite remarks, George, visibly tipsy, left Nightmark Bar.

The moment he was gone, the girlish vulnerability on Claire's face disappeared, replaced by a cold expression.

The scantily-clad woman beside her huffed, "That George Redfield—eating, drinking, taking, and sleeping for free at our bar, and now he won't lift a finger to help when it counts! Men are so useless—and heartless!"

Claire lit a cigarette and sneered. "That fatso? I never expected him to help anyway."

The scantily-clad woman blinked in surprise. "Then why did you even bother?"

Exhaling a puff of smoke, Claire replied, "It doesn't matter if he helps or not, as long as he doesn't kick us while we're down by helping the others."

The woman seemed half-convinced but soon looked worried. "But are we really a match for the Divine family? Just relying on Evan doesn't seem enough."

Claire pinched the woman's cheek with a smirk. "Have you tried him out? How can you say he's not enough?

"Evan always holds back in fights.

"He's as strong as an A-tier!"

The woman froze, her eyes widening with astonishment. "Evan is A-tier? My goodness!

"With an A-tier and six segments of spiritual power, taking down the Divine family should be a breeze!"

Claire stubbed out her cigarette. "Tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to eliminate all the Divine family's top experts.

"I just don't want the Security Division interfering."

The woman looked at Claire with admiration. This older sister was incredible, mysterious, and so likable!

Just then, the space around them rippled, and a pitch-black door appeared out of nowhere.

The woman immediately grew alert. Her left hand morphed into a giant pair of scissors, ready to confront the door.

The door creaked open slowly, and a figure wearing a ghostly mask emerged, supporting another figure cloaked in a hood that obscured their face.

The hooded figure's head hung low, and a few strands of white hair slipped out from beneath the hood's cover.
