God of Money: Reincarnated as the Weakest SSS Rank

Chapter 106: 20th Floor

20th Floor.

As soon as they touched this place, a strange cold mixed with a strange heat hit them.

They were in one of the Cities of the 20th Floor, the City of Entrance. This entire city was built on a mountain with a large protective wall.

At the same time, above the city was a concrete roof with protective magic to prevent solar pellets from falling on the city.

This also prevented the wind, created by huge fans that ventilated the city to keep it cool, from escaping its walls.

As soon as Louis set foot in this place, he felt the heat coming from the depths of the earth and the curious cold from the huge fans.

'How curious,' he thought.

After confirming that he had received the reward for reaching Floor 20, he wanted to look outside the walls, so they both approached the city limits.

"It's dangerous to be on this floor. That's why there are so few people, as you can see," said Laura, to which Louis nodded.

"But I see people around here who are much stronger than we are. And they seem very rich," he said, looking at certain people who passed by, walking in strange coats that made them feel cold.

"Yes." She nodded and turned to look at them. "Although we call what falls to the ground 'solar pellets,' the truth is that they are pieces of meteorites or something similar. These often bring many resources, so many rich and powerful people exploit their resources. This is one of the floors with the most rich people."

He nodded. It made perfect sense.

"Indeed." She suddenly added. "One of the main reasons why the world's economy does not falter and will never falter is because of the Red Sun Tower. There are so many resources that the entire economy is sustained and supported by it." She smiled.

Louis nodded. "That's why they say that the Red Sun Empire's economy is also the most powerful in the West, right?"

"Yes. But that's partly a lie. It's just that, strategically, the Red Sun Empire shouldn't fall. Everyone knows that. That's why no one attacks us or wages war against us."

"Oh." Louis smiled. "I just recently learned that the Asoist Church has been in a silent war with the Red Sun Empire," he said, glancing at her sideways.

"Um... yes." She smiled. "That's partly true. But those kinds of wars won't shake the Empire's economy. They can change the rulers, but can't do anything to the Empire. That's their motto."

"That makes sense. If they have one of the pillars of the economy under their command, the Theocracy and its allies will benefit, huh. Those bastards."

"Hahahaha..." She laughed loudly and looked at him. "You're the first person who dares to insult those guys," she said, feeling delighted.

"Really? Are they that scary?"

She shrugged and turned away. "Didn't you come to see the solar pellets? If you want to know why the Asoists are so feared, you should visit the Library. There you will understand everything. I'm not like you, Louis. I don't have the guts to insult them." She said and looked outside the walls.

"Not before I can do it," she whispered between her lips, so Louis couldn't hear what she was saying.

He sighed and finally looked outside the walls.

There were craters everywhere, some large, some small. But many things were on fire.

It was possible to walk around, and there were paths where pellets didn't usually fall, but you could feel the heat outside the walls.

Unlike the Ancient River, this place was perfect for studying Fire Runes, although perhaps in a different way.

Not focused on the magic of burning fires, but on explosions, as there was an intense feeling of explosiveness in the air. You could even smell it.

'This is what a fantasy world looks like, huh. Very hot places, very cold places. Places where meteorites constantly fall, others where there are beautiful plains...'

He found all the landscapes of this world fascinating, but as a lover of the cold, he didn't feel very comfortable being on this floor.

"I can tell you're excited," said Laura. "Do you want to keep going up?" she asked.

Louis didn't have to think twice. "No. Let's go back for now. I have things to do."

"Good, I was worried you'd become addicted to climbing floors. I have things to do too, and I don't think the professor wanted us to spend a whole week here, because that's time we're missing from class, so he'll probably scold us. It's better to go back."

Having decided that, they both decided to go back. As students of the Royal Academy, they didn't have to pay for the teleportation back.

Once they teleported out, he received a message.

From the Tower.

[Congratulations! You have reached Floor 20 in the Tower.]

[Recognizing your worth, you have been awarded a Badge which you can wear with pride.]

A pure gold badge appeared in his hand, with the number '20' engraved on it. It was automatic, as if by magic.

It was one of the badges he had seen on the leader of the men who attacked him when he arrived here. He wore it proudly on his chest, as it gave him great status.

And it made sense. Reaching Floor 20 in this place was quite complicated.

He had already had enough trouble on Floor 10 with those Mummies, with the Bats, and finally with the Vampire, where he could have died.

And Floor 19 also had a boss strong enough to kill him if he had landed more blows.

It was a complicated tower, where for every floor ascended, it could be a great feat to keep all your limbs intact.

But it was quite amusing.

"Every 10 floors, they give you a better one. They say that the one on the 50th floor has divine mineral." Laura said.

He smiled and squeezed it. "Well, that would be interesting to see."

After going through the process and recording their achievements, they were allowed to leave, so they walked to the classroom.

The news that a new student had just reached the 20th floor spread like wildfire. It is said that only the top 15 or 20 in the ranking can reach that floor, but this time, the one who had reached it did not belong to that ranking.

"The hidden powers of the Academy are starting to show themselves, huh?"

"It's about time... I don't think he'll be the only one. They always show up during the Tournament."

"Haha... I guess things are going to get interesting."

The news spread to all the students, little by little, although many wondered if they would see anyone reach the 30th floor.
