Chapter 1167 Part 2: Treasury
From MC's Perspective:
After walking inside, my gaze swept across the room. I'm controlling myself from rushing towards the shelves. Then I quickly calm my heart. My eyes scanned the objects placed on the shelf one after another.
There are Weapon artifacts, paintings, and antique boxes. Even some old, worn-out, broken manuscripts are there. Seeing that I wanted in my heart to pick the manuscript and read it.
But I controlled myself. Right now, I should be looking for those treasure fruits that can help wizards gain insights into their magic.
So I continued to scan the objects.
On the other hand, Stella raised her eyebrows. She can see that Vincent Carey is looking for something. It appears, though, as if he knows what's kept here.
Then her mind struck with sudden realization. She glances towards her office, where Elder Paul is sitting and waiting for them to arrive.
"There aren't many things that are known to outside people," She thought.
Only she and a few elders in the Intelligence Tower knew what was kept inside here. So, looking at Vincent, she was confused.
She tries to remember whether anything leaked outside before. Even the names of the treasures are kept here.
At the same time, I'm stunned looking at masterpieces. Which is nothing but an antique clock. But I'm feeling very ancient magic from it.
I looked at it for a few seconds before my attention turned towards other treasures. There are weird dolls and clothes. Suddenly, I remember most of the treasures were collected from criminals.
It's normal to find weird stuff here.
Then I stopped looking at these items and directly began to search for the treasure fruits.
A few minutes later,
I have gone through all the shelves, but I have yet to find the treasure fruits.
"What are you doing?"
I heard a voice from behind. When I turned around, I found Elder Stella standing in front of me.
"Elder, is that....," before I could complete my words. She raised her hands to stop.
"What are you looking for?" Stella asked.
"I'm looking for the treasure fruits that can help wizards gain insights," I replied with an expectation in my eyes.
"No," Stella immediately denied it.
At the same time, she was shocked in her heart. She doesn't know who revealed the information. This was one of the best-kept secrets.
She thinks it must be one of the elders who have leaked the news.
Experience tales at empire
"Elder, I just want that fruit. Even if it's a low quality, it's fine," I said to her. But I didn't expect she would react so strongly.
"Low quality?" Stella raised her eyebrows. Her eyes were directly staring into the eyes of the young man.
"Did Elder Paul tell you?" She asked. Her expression was serious. She wants to find out the identity of the elder who leaked it.
Hearing her question, I don't know what to say.
Stella remained silent for a few seconds before saying, "Such fruits are very important to elders. Even the elders who participated in many life-or-death missions won't be able to get one."
"On the other hand, you have done only one," She added.
I stayed silent because her words were true. Because I'm asking for too much.
"Looks like I won't be able to get one," I thought.
But all of a sudden a good idea comes to my mind. It's all because of her spoken words just now.
"Elder, can we make a deal?" I said.
Stella stood cross-armed and asked, "What is it?"
"Why don't I continue to do missions for the intelligence tower? In that way, you will get your job done," I replied.
Stella's eyes flash with a surprise. Because the deal tempted her. A hint of approval flashes in her eyes.
She didn't expect the young man to come up with this. She can tell that it comes from the Young man's heart. It was not taught by Elder Paul.
But she can tell that the young man needs that treasure fruit. So much so he is willing to do missions for them.
She smiled and asked, "Do you know our missions are not easy? It comes with a high mortality rate."
"I know. But I'm willing to do it," I replied.
"Alright, then," She said before turning around and walking towards the wall.
She stood in front of the one particular section and pressed the brick again.
Creak!
The brick moves inside, revealing a rectangular cooler box. It's preserving the items inside.
Stella opens the rectangle box after entering the password. Inside, golden-coloured circular fruits were kept carefully.
Each golden fruit gives away powerful mana mixed with special energy. The special energy plays a role in Wizards getting insight.
Stella took a silver storage box from her storage bracelet and placed one of the Golden Fruits inside. After doing that she closed the rectangular box.
And it hid in the previous place. She then walks towards Vincent carrying the small box.
"It's the Golden Fruit. What're you looking for," After said as she handed it over to him.
On the other hand, I received the box and put it inside my storage bracelet of mine. I can't believe that it went so easily.
A wide smile appeared on my face.
"You are smiling too early. Don't let others know about it. Otherwise, people will kill you to get their hands on this treasure, " Stella warned.
"Don't worry, elder. I won't tell anyone," I replied.
"Don't forget, you have agreed to help us by doing missions. But your words won't be enough. Unless you become a member of our Intelligence Department," She said with a smile.
Hearing that I'm stunned for a moment. This came out of nowhere. But looking at her face. I can tell that she meant seriously.
"Elder, I'm already a member of the Special Mage Department. How can I join your department?" I asked.
"The intelligence department is special. Our main job is to collect intel. The classes and training were related to the job. So anyone with suitable talent can join us," She said.
Hearing that, I felt her words were reasonable. But I still need to discuss this with Elder Paul.
