From MC's Perspective:

"Head, your return has made everyone sigh in relief," said the bulky wizard.

"Walter, you can withstand those guys on your own. My presence doesn't make any difference," Head Howard responded with a smile.

However, none of the council elders believed his words. For Stella, Paul Lin, and Walter—the bulky wizard from the Earth Elemental Department—everyone felt a wave of relief upon seeing the Head back on campus.

Walter, one of the council elders, was aware of the ongoing faction conflict. He felt the burden had been lightened despite Head Howard's humble words.

Meanwhile, I noticed the gazes of three wizards directed at me. Although they were seniors based on their years of study, I didn't feel any threat from them, so I met their gaze directly.

The three young wizards appeared surprised. First, they could not sense the magic level of the wizard from the Special Mage Department. Second, they were taken aback by my boldness.

"Hey, Teddy. Do you know what year he is?" asked a black-haired young wizard named Andrei, who was the leader of the trio.

Next to him was Noel, who shared Andrei's black hair and eyes but was taller. Finally, there was Teddy, who had a chubby face and was known for his excellent control of earth element magic among the group.

All three of them were final-year students and were level-8 wizards.

Teddy raised his eyebrows as he couldn't recall an unknown face from his year. He suspected I might be from the second year, given that they were familiar with all the talented wizards in the fourth year and even the notable ones from the third year at the True Elements Society.

"So, it's likely that a recently growing talented wizard is in his second year," Teddy concluded.

"Andrei, what happened?" he asked, noticing Andrei's furrowed brows.

"I think he is a second-year student. He must be a recent talent," Teddy speculated. His chubby appearance might lead people to underestimate him, but he was intelligent.

At the same time, Paul Lin, Stella, and Walter were chatting with Head Howard as if they were old friends. If anyone from outside observed them, they wouldn't realize that the conversation involved the Magic Lord and level-9 wizards.

Head Howard was the leader of the organization and his personality ensured that the True Elements Society had not completely fallen under the control of the Aristocratic Families.

I stood with my arms crossed, lost in thought. There were four young wizards here, but six more were yet to arrive. I wondered which departments the others might belong to when suddenly—

"We didn't come late!"

A deep, aged voice drew everyone's attention. I immediately turned around to see an old man dressed in red and black clothing, with a red mage robe over it, landing on the ground. Behind him were two young wizards in similar attire.

I looked at the badges they wore, which bore the burning flame symbol.

"Fire Mage Department," I thought to myself.

I hadn't had any encounters with them before, mainly because the campus of the True Elements Society was vast, and the Elemental Departments were located at the far end of the campus.

As I observed them, I noticed that the man leading them had a white beard and an unpleasant expression, particularly when looking at Head Howard. For a moment, he appeared fearful.

"Is that a trick of my eyes?" I wondered. "Don't tell me he's from the Aristocratic Faction as well?" But I dismissed the thought, knowing it was unlikely. According to Elder Paul Lin, Elder Stella had screened everyone before creating the list of names.

"Ha...Ha...Ha... old man Alfie. You're right on time," Walter said with a laugh as he looked at him. "But your face doesn't look good. Are you hiding something?"

Hearing this, the old man Alfie's expression changed. He quickly controlled his emotions and replied, "What are you babbling about, Walter?"

After exchanging a long stare with him, the old man quickly approached Head Howard, saying, "Head, it's good to see you back."

Howard Mason's eyes flickered. The Fire Mage Department had always maintained a neutral stance in the faction division, but he was aware that Old Fox had connections with the Aristocratic Families, too.

Howard glanced at Stella for a brief moment, knowing he couldn't fault her regarding this matter.

The Fire Mage Department was known for being opportunistic. But if they sided with his faction, it could strengthen them.

So, Howard let go of any negative thoughts.

"Elder Alfie, it's good to see you as well," Howard replied with a smile.

Stella, Paul, and Walter exchanged glances, knowing that old fox Alfie preferred to play both sides. They remained silent about any important matters.

"Ha...Ha....Ha.... I'm looking forward to seeing the young lads perform in this mission," Alfie said with a smile. However, he smiled inwardly, briefly worried that the Head might say something.

On the other hand, the two Fire Mage Wizards displayed arrogance, regarding the Elemental Wizards with condescending attitudes.

"Teddy, those two are here again. I don't think this trip will go smoothly," Andrei said to Teddy.

"Yes, I feel the same way. Our two departments have always been at odds," Noel added from the side.

Teddy's eyes flickered with concern. He didn't know why, but he shared the same feeling as his friends. Whenever their team was paired with the Fire Mage Department, conflicts seemed unavoidable.

Meanwhile, the two Fire Mage Wizards continued to observe the others.

"The infamous trash from the Earth Elemental Department has arrived. Looks like we're going to have some fun," Owen remarked, his black hair and eyes standing out against his tan skin.

His friend Lenny, who also had a similar skin tone but a crooked nose, nodded in agreement. Both looked rugged in appearance.

Lenny, however, was distracted. His gaze fell on a young wizard who appeared to be a fresh face among them.

"Hey, ignore those idiots and check out this fresh lamb. He must be the rising star of the Special Mage Department," Lenny said with a malicious smile as if he had found a new source of entertainment.

"Hmmm," Owen raised an eyebrow with interest, following Lenny's gaze to the young wizard, who seemed to be one or two years younger than them and wore the Star Badge of the Special Mage Department.

Seeing this, Owen's mouth curved into a grin. "Should we test him?" he asked.

"Yeah, let's test him during the mission. He might be more entertaining than those other idiots," Lenny replied with a cunning smile.

The two Fire Mage Wizards were unconcerned with the ongoing faction fights; they were focused on their amusement.

[Ding! Warning]

[Malicious gazes detected.]

A mechanical voice resonated in my mind.

Upon hearing this, I realized the two Fire Mage Wizards were looking at me with unsettling smiles that revealed their true intentions.

"I hope they don't cause me trouble. I'm already feeling the urge to use Gravity Magic on someone," I thought to myself.

Swoosh!

"Looks like we're fourth," a melodious voice broke the tension. Everyone's attention shifted.

A female wizard clad in white robes landed gracefully. She appeared to be middle-aged, with white hair and eyes.

"Ruth," Stella called out to her.

"Stella, you should have informed me sooner. Otherwise, I might have prevented some talented wizards from going to do other missions," the white-haired lady, Ruth, replied.

Behind her stood a young woman with long black hair, also dressed in white, carrying a typhoon bag.

"Wind Mages," I uttered in surprise.

It was my first time meeting someone from that department. I had always spent my time in the Special Mage Department, leaving little opportunity to visit the other branches of the True Elements Society.

Having had conflicts with two major departments, my interest in exploring the new surroundings had waned. However, I now felt pleased that I had agreed to this mission.

It provided me the chance to meet wizards from other departments who weren't from aristocratic backgrounds. Perhaps I could develop some valuable contacts. I hardly had anyone keeping me updated on the happenings within the True Elements Society.

The young woman glanced around and realized she was the only female wizard present. Deciding to stick with Elder Ruth, she followed her lead.

Ruth approached Head Howard and greeted him. "Head, it's good to see you. Without your presence, the council meeting was a complete disaster," Ruth expressed, a hint of frustration in her voice.

The young fire mages were watching the female wizard with interest. "Hey, is she the one they call Mad Maddie?" one of them asked.

"Yes, that's her. I didn't expect her to join the mission," Lenny responded.

Both of their expressions turned serious, the previous arrogance fading away. "We should avoid any contact with her," Owen suggested.

After that his expression becomes normal.

Lenny nodded his head in understanding. They both had bad encounters with her. So he avoided looking at her.
