Chapter 66: Chapter 66- VS Shiratorizawa (Part 6)
After winning the second set, the Shiratorizawa players celebrated discreetly as they headed to the bench.
"If this is the best your team can do, I have to say... I'm disappointed. You're still not ready to face us," said Ushiwaka as he turned away.
"Keep on breaking them!... Keep on shattering them!... What do you say?" Tendo asked Semi, who was standing beside him, as if waiting for him to complete the song.
"Those blocks?" Semi replied, looking slightly uncomfortable.
"Nah! Their spirits!" Tendo continued singing.
"Tsk!" Hinata had lost his usual smile and was genuinely irritated.
"Why didn't you say anything!?" Tanaka asked.
"There's nothing to say. This time, we were outmatched... but we can still turn this around," Daichi said as he sat on the bench.
"But it's clear we don't have enough power to go head-to-head. We couldn't even block Ushiwaka once," Asahi pointed out.
"You guys might not have the firepower to take them on directly right now, but we still have our weapons. We won't go down without using everything we've got. We need a plan!" Sugawara said.
"Right! I noticed that player number five is always focused on blocking Hinata and Kageyama's quick attack. If he doesn't, he won't be able to keep up, and it'll be an easy point for us," Ukai said.
"What do you mean by that, Ukai-san?" Kageyama asked.
"He might be able to block or touch our combined attacks, but that play is still a huge risk for them. Hinata's pressure on the court is a big factor. So, we'll use their concern against them—Hinata will be our decoy. If number five keeps focusing only on Hinata, their blocking will weaken. But we still need enough power to get through the rest of their defense," Ukai explained.
"That sounds like a solid strategy," Kageyama said.
"Yeah, I agree!" Asahi added.
As his teammates discussed the new strategy, Hinata seemed lost in thought.
"Are you okay?" Shimizu asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"I'm fine... I'm just thinking about how I can help," Hinata replied.
"Okay," Shimizu said, nodding before leaving him to his thoughts.
"You've all heard the plan. Now it's time to put it into action!" Ukai said.
"Right! We can still fight, and the score is tied. There's nothing to fear—LET'S WIN THIS!" Daichi shouted.
"YES!" Everyone yelled in unison.
"AHH! I'm so nervous! I hope they've come up with something!" Saeko said.
"Well, all we can do is cheer for them," Shimada said.
"I really hope Ryu can win..." Kanoka said timidly.
"Alright! Let's go!" Takinoue shouted before starting to sing:
"Go, go, Karasuno! Push it, push it, Karasuno!"
"THAT'S IT! WE NEED TO CHEER EVEN MORE! EVERYONE, JOIN IN!" the Vice Principal shouted.
"Go, go, Karasuno! Push it, push it, Karasuno!"
"Go, go, Karasuno! Push it, push it, Karasuno!"
Karasuno's cheering squad chanted, but they were quickly met with retaliation from Shiratorizawa's supporters:
"SHIRATORIZAWA!"
"SHIRATORIZAWA!"
"Daichi-san, nice serve!" Karasuno's players shouted as Daichi served the ball toward Shiratorizawa's court.
"It's mine!" Goshiki yelled, rushing toward the ball to receive it and pass it to Shirabu for the set.
"Ohira-san!" Shirabu called as he set the ball for Reon, who faced a double block from Tsukishima and Tanaka.
"POW!" Reon's spike flew past Tanaka's arms and slammed violently onto Karasuno's court floor.
1-0 Shiratorizawa.
"Nice!" Reon celebrated as he grabbed the ball and headed to serve.
"Don't worry, it was just the first point. Let's focus on this one!" Daichi said, preparing for the serve.
"Yeah!" Everyone responded in unison.
Reon jumped and struck the ball, sending it straight toward Hinata.
"DAMN IT! Cover me!" Hinata shouted after the ball exploded against his arms, preventing him from making a clean reception.
"Tanaka-san!" Kageyama called, setting the ball toward Tanaka in position four.
"I have to nail this!" Tanaka thought as he faced a double block from Ushiwaka and Shirabu. He managed to angle his shot just right, sending the ball past Shirabu's arms and straight into Reon, who failed to receive it.
"THAT'S IT! I SCORED!" Tanaka shouted in celebration.
"GOOD JOB, RYU!" Nishinoya said, giving Tanaka a slap on the shoulder.
1-1. Tied.
"Kageyama, nice serve!" Daichi shouted as Kageyama jumped and struck the ball with full force toward the back of the court.
"Got it!" Yamagata yelled, diving toward the ball just before it touched the ground.
"Ushijima-san!" Shirabu called, setting the ball high and far for Ushiwaka.
"BOOM!" Ushiwaka's spike exploded off Tsukishima's fingertips.
"IT TOUCHED!" Tsukishima called out as he glanced over his shoulder, watching the ball fly toward the back of the court.
"Kageyama! It's yours!" Nishinoya said, easily directing the pass to Kageyama.
As planned, Hinata took off running and jumped, immediately catching Tendo's attention. Not wasting a second, Tendo followed him closely, but what he saw instead was the ball heading toward the middle of the net—straight to Tsukishima, who leaped and easily spiked it over a double block.
2-1 Karasuno.
"Thank God, it worked!" Takeda said.
"This is our last card to stay in the game. If it's not enough, we'll lose," Ukai said.
"So that's the solution they came up with..." Iwaizumi observed.
"It's a simple strategy, but definitely clever. However, they might run into trouble if Hinata gets exhausted. Running and jumping constantly will drain his stamina fast," Oikawa pointed out.
"So, it's a battle of endurance too," Iwaizumi stated.
Kageyama served again, this time sending the ball toward Goshiki, who managed to receive it and pass it to Shirabu. Once again, Shirabu set the ball for Ushiwaka, who faced a triple block from Hinata, Tsukishima, and Tanaka.
"BOOM!" Ushiwaka's spike smashed against Tsukishima's fingertips again, but this time with much more force, sending the ball flying across the court and out of bounds.
"You may have a plan or whatever... but as long as you can't deal with me, nothing will change," Ushiwaka said, his voice overflowing with confidence.
2-2. Tied.
