Harry Potter: BE a GOD

Chapter 450: Chapter 451: The God of Mischief and Lies

Loki sat at a distance.

Hades was in high spirits as the Aesir gods clashed fiercely with the monsters of the underworld. Unnoticed, a raven flew from Odin's bisected torso, quickly disappearing into the distance.

Loki saw this but chose not to alert anyone.

Simultaneously, he observed Thor crushing the chest of the sun goddess Sól and picking up a skull from the ashes of the fire giant Surtr, placing it upon his head. A flash of fire darted through his eyes as he exhaled deeply, then with a swing of his hammer, he shattered the skull of the serpent Jörmungandr, and with a bolt of lightning, he half-cooked the great wolf Fenrir.

The battle did not go as smoothly as Hades had anticipated. Thor unexpectedly demonstrated immense combat prowess, swiftly killing the underworld's strongest beasts and forcing Hel and even Hades himself to retreat in disarray.

While Hades was still puzzling over this turn of events, Thor had already lifted the ancient head of Mimir from the ruins of Valhalla, demanding, "Mimir, my eye."

The wise giant Mimir, his face sorrowful, opened his mouth to reveal a shimmering blue eyeball.

Thor took the eyeball, ignoring Mimir's pleas, crushed his skull underfoot, then approached Fenrir, tearing open the wolf's mouth to retrieve Odin's intact head and removed the eye patch from the right eye.

Beneath Odin's eye patch was not an empty socket, but another radiant eye.

"The Eye of Horus…" Hades realized in a flash, "You are Apollo… you are Horus… you are…"

Before he could finish, Thor plucked out his own eyes and replaced them with the two Eyes of Horus.

In an instant, an unparalleled brilliance emanated from Thor, who vanished from sight and reappeared beside Hades. "Remember now, my uncle Hades, or should I call you Seth? After a thousand years, it's the same story, and you're headed for the same end."

With that, Thor struck with his hammer. Hades, turning into black smoke in an attempt to escape, was suddenly impaled from behind by a flaming sword that emerged from the ground, pinning him in place.

Thor's hammer crashed down, scattering Hades into fragments with a thunderous force.

"Light," Thor declared, as a halo of sunlight rose behind him.

"Chaos," he spoke again, grabbing the fragments of Hades, twisting them into a wisp of dark smoke, and stuffing them into his mouth.

In an instant, his stature grew, his head crowned with a sun disk as scorching as a real sun, his features morphing, his nose elongating, feathers sprouting, and wings like those of an eagle unfurling from his arms.

An ancient and supreme deity resurrected after surviving countless calamities.

Atum, Khepri, Horus, Amun.

The sun god, the god of rebirth, the god of wisdom, the creator of life, ruler of the land, the sky, the underworld, the supreme ancient king—Ra.

From afar, Loki watched all this unfold, not surprised.

He had long noticed anomalies in Apollo's demeanor and speculated about his connections with Amun and Ra.

The images, names, domains, and even divine natures of gods change over time through the continual evolution of myths. Some beings derived from them might become avatars controlled by them, or conversely, be consumed by such avatars to renew themselves, or merge into a new god.

Gods born from belief are naturally constrained by it; seemingly omnipotent, they struggle even to maintain their true selves.

This is why Murphy disdained the path of divinity shaped by faith.

Then, seeing "Ra" revert to Thor's appearance, he began slaughtering Hades' underworld creatures.

Armed with numerous divine aspects, ancient wisdom, and authority, "Thor" was virtually unstoppable, far surpassing the former Odin. With Hades gone, his commandless underworld army scattered like defeated dogs, swiftly routed by Thor leading the Aesir.

After driving off the enemy, amidst the ruins and devastation, Thor stood atop a fallen pillar of the collapsed Valhalla temple, addressing all the Aesir gods.

"I am Thor, I am Sól, I am the sun, I am thunder, I am war, I am wisdom, I am life, I am authority!"

"The foreign gods stole my eyes and wisdom, locked my power, and deceived our Aesir kind. Zeus, Hades, they are the true instigators of Ragnarok! A battle between us Aesir and the Olympian gods is inevitable!"

Loki, hearing this from a distance, merely smiled lightly and walked away.

The war here was not yet over.

Ra's resurrection and Thor's dominion over thunder pointed directly at Olympus

's chief god, Zeus.

Ra, or rather Apollo, still hadn't completed his plan to "kill the father" and take over the throne of Olympus.

But Loki had lost interest in watching any further; his experiment here was concluded.

The prophecy of Ragnarok, largely derived from the Norse tribes' fear of the Roman Empire, naturally portrayed the Greek gods, or the Olympian gods, as the ultimate catalysts for Ragnarok.

He had seen that not the scheming of gods determined everything but rather the despair and resistance of their followers that shaped the fate of gods.

His arrangements here were complete.

Though he hadn't anticipated many variables, the calculations and conspiracies among gods like Apollo, Hades, Ra, Zeus, Odin, and others, whether they won or lost, did not affect his plans.

Collaborating with Apollo and Hades to hasten Ragnarok's arrival and the return of the gold to the Rhine riverbed were his greatest achievements.

Loki walked towards the edge of Asgard.

From a distance, Thor seemed to sense something, hurling his hammer, but the weapon capable of slaying the lord of the underworld stopped ten meters behind Loki, unable to advance further.

"Capture him!" Thor commanded.

However, Loki had already stepped beyond the edge of Asgard's domain. The curse's flames still raged fiercely, burning the skin, flesh, and bones of the gods, their artifacts and magic seemingly ineffective against the flames.

Yet Loki walked through the fire unscathed; the deadly flames were like a gentle breeze for him, clearing away his dust and disguise.

The fire licked clean the skull makeup from his face, revealing a handsome and resolute visage.

His flame-like wild red hair also burned off its false color, returning to its natural black and smoothness.

The young man glanced back at the gods, pulled out a pocket watch-like object, and suddenly disappeared.

The experiment was over, everything was in place.

He momentarily shed the guise of the god of mischief.

He was headed to the next era, where he would prepare another grand lie for the gods.
