Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Adding Points
"Oh my goodness, I never thought that the Disillusionment Charm actually belongs to Dark Magic. I wasted so much time searching in the White Magic area."
"But thinking about it, it makes sense. What kind of good person would learn the invisibility spell? Can someone who learns it still be a good person?" Light shook his head, shaking off the thoughts in his mind. He looked at Ten Secrets of the Disillusionment Charm in his hand.
By the way, he picked up a copy of Dark Magic: From Introduction to Burial and walked towards the reading area.
Light first started reading Dark Magic: From Introduction to Burial, which records the origin and essence of Dark Magic.
"The essence of Dark Magic stems from one's own malice towards others. Whether it's Hexes, Venomous Curses, or Curses, no matter how powerful or weak they are, they all represent the caster converting their own malice into real harm."
"Learning Dark Magic means that one's own self will also be eroded by malice. The more powerful one becomes, the more evil; the more evil one is, the more powerful."
After a long time, Light, who had finished reading the book, also received a message from the stone stele: "Dark Magic: 0".
After receiving the information, Light didn't rush to add points. Instead, he first opened Ten Secrets of the Disillusionment Charm.
The book described in detail the Spells of the "Disillusionment Charm" and precautions, and advanced applications, such as how to show one's head or feet while invisible without revealing the rest of the body.
Light put Dark Magic: From Introduction to Burial back on the bookshelf and took Ten Secrets of the Disillusionment Charmto Madam Pince to borrow this book.
Madam Pince sized up Light with a strange look on her face. It seemed like she had something to say, but she still handed the book to Light without saying anything.
"What does she think I'm going to do! I'm still young and don't understand what she means." Light mumbled to himself as he ran back to the dormitory.
Light pushed open the dormitory door and found no one in the dormitory. Light quickly ran to the bathroom, closed his eyes in front of the mirror, and sank his spirit into his mind. The stone stele engraved with unknown words appeared in front of his eyes.
Light Rogers (Zhou Yang)
Magic Power: 1 (The value of an ordinary adult wizard is 5)
Mileage Points: 11
Spells: White Magic: 1, Transfiguration: 1
Dark Magic: 0
Skills: Potions: 0, Care of Magical Creatures: 0
Mileage: Soul from a Different World...
Seeing that his Mileage Points hadn't increased since The Opening Feast, Light pouted. "Once I add up enough points, I'm going to start causing trouble. Now, 'Deep Blue, add points'."
Light's spirit continuously touched the Dark Magic option. The option changed three times in a row and finally became Dark Magic: 3.
Light's spirit returned to his body, and he began to cast the Disillusionment Charm on himself in front of the mirror.
"It seems that I didn't add enough points. The spellcasting failed and there was no positive feedback. I only know that it failed, but I don't know why." Looking at his headless self in the mirror, Light gritted his teeth and added another point to Dark Magic.
He continued to cast the spell, and half of the figure in the mirror disappeared again, leaving only a pair of legs reflected in the mirror. Although he still didn't understand why he failed, the magic was getting closer to success.
Light felt a bit hesitant. "Should I just give up? Stop adding points. I've already made great progress in Spells. I'll surely learn it with enough practice."
"No, I have to add points. I need to learn the Disillusionment Charm as soon as possible and get 'Occlumency' from the Restricted Section. Otherwise, facing Dumbledore and Voldemort, these two masters of Legilimency, I'll be too passive."
"And in the future, to obtain Mileage Points, I'll have to directly face Voldemort. The combat power of Dark Magic is also essential."
Thinking of this, Light gritted his teeth and added another point to Dark Magic.
In an instant, it seemed as if something in Light's mind exploded. The reasons for his previous failed spellcasting became clear all at once. The basic and advanced techniques recorded in the book were categorized and summarized in this moment. He now had a clear understanding of how to use the Disillusionment Charm.
With a wave of the wand in Light's hand, the remaining telltale signs disappeared in an instant. With another wave of the wand, a head, with an excited expression, appeared in the bathroom, floating alone in mid-air. Fortunately, Harry Potter and the others weren't there. Otherwise, they'd have been scared out of their pants if they saw it.
Light waved the wand again, and the head disappeared. An indistinct, hazy figure emerged. Only the general outline could be seen, like a ghost.
Looking at his illusory figure in the mirror, Light thought happily, "This cheat is really amazing. I've even mastered the advanced version of the Disillusionment Charm. Now that I have the talent, all I lack are more Spells."
Just then, the bathroom door was pushed open. Light was taken aback. Damn it, I forgot to lock the door. Light quickly canceled the Disillusionment Charm and returned to his original appearance.
"Light, are you using the bathroom?" Neville, who pushed open the door, said as he saw Light holding a wand.
"I'm done. I'm leaving now." With that, Light picked up his book and left.
Light heaved a sigh of relief and headed towards The Library to return the book, and by the way, replenish his knowledge of Dark Magic.
In the reading area of The Library.
Light took a book and studied it carefully in the corner. The name of the book was Controllable Dark Magic. The content of the book included some magic for pranks and an analysis of the influence of emotions on Dark Magic.
As Light flipped through the book, the content in the book was constantly being summarized and integrated with the knowledge he had learned and the books he had read.
The books he had originally finished reading also had a complete interpretation at this moment.
"Is this the feeling of being a genius? It's so wonderful. Reading books has become an extraordinary pleasure," Light closed the magic book.
Light secretly used his wand to cast the Dark Magic on the desk where his notes were placed: Slippery Slope. After a flash of light, the long table in front of him instantly became extremely slippery. Just as the notebook that was originally placed steadily on the table was about to slide to the ground.
Light continued to wave his wand, casting a counter-spell. The table immediately returned to its original state.
"Just by reading it once, I can perfectly cast the spell. It's really powerful!" Light once again praised the power of the cheat in his heart, and at the same time, looked at the countless books in The Library.
"It seems I really have to ruffle the feathers of 'Old Dumbledore' and Voldemort," he secretly made up his mind.
"Children, it's already closing time. You should go back to your dormitories. Don't stay here any longer," Light heard Madam Pince urging people to leave. Light couldn't help but curse under his breath.
"So soon? I haven't even checked out the Restricted Section yet!" Although reluctant in his heart, he still obediently left.
On the way back to the dormitory, Light slowly recalled where exactly the Room of Requirement was in the original work.
Suddenly, there came a burst of laughing and chatting sounds in his ears. Light frowned and looked up. Only to see a short figure, a ghost wearing strange clothing, was floating in mid-air.
"Come on, come on, come and see what I've run into. A young wizard. So young. Are you a first-year?"
Light immediately realized: "Peeves. Well, this is perfect. I'll use you to test out some Dark Magic."
