Harry Potter: The Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Meeting Hagrid Again

After Snape deducted points with a straight face, he ignored Harry Potter, who looked indignant, and turned away to continue teaching.

Light watched this scene and could only pretend not to see it. Snape had disliked Harry Potter ever since because of Harry Potter's father.

Even if Light told Harry Potter the answers to the questions in advance, there was no possibility of any change. After all, the root of the matter didn't lie in not being able to answer the questions.

It was the grudges and rivalries of the older generation that had carried over to the next generation. Even if Harry Potter did extremely well, Snape would still find fault.

Next, Snape didn't continue asking questions and started teaching the young wizards how to brew potions.

Because there were no Adding Points, Light made quite a few mistakes in brewing the potion. But Snape's attention was mostly on Harry Potter, and as long as the mistakes weren't too big, they were basically ignored.

Snape stared at Harry Potter expressionlessly, like a venomous snake eyeing its prey. As long as Harry Potter made the slightest mistake, he would rush over and spew his venom.

If it weren't for Neville accidentally burning through the cauldron and making Snape focus more on other young wizards, Harry Potter would probably have been scolded by Snape throughout the entire Potions class.

"You passed, although just barely." Snape said expressionlessly to Light after inspecting the yellow potion.

Potions: 1

Light, who heard Snape's verdict and received the message from the stone stele, didn't react for a moment.

He made many mistakes when dealing with the raw materials. Light didn't have much hope and planned to just muddle through this class.

Unexpectedly, he controlled the heat extremely well when brewing the potion. Despite not handling the raw materials very well, he managed to barely concoct a qualified product.

"Maybe having a high enough Dark Magic point has also improved my perception and control." Light guessed in his heart.

In this Potions class, most of the young wizards failed to brew the potion and were mercilessly scolded by Snape. Everyone had an expression of survival after a disaster on their faces when class ended.

"God, why did the school hire Snape as a professor? He spent the whole class scolding people." Ron said angrily, his right hand constantly clenching into a fist.

Harry Potter patted Ron on the shoulder gratefully. At the same time, he just couldn't figure out where he had offended Snape.

"Harry Potter, can't you read more books before class? If you answer all the questions, wouldn't that be fine?" Hermione butted in, showing the air of a straight - A student.

"Hermione, not everyone can be like you and memorize the Potions book just a few days after the start of school. And Snape doesn't seem to like Harry Potter very much." Light said suggestively.

Hearing this, Hermione didn't say anything more. After all, Snape's behavior in class definitely wasn't the normal attitude of a teacher towards a student.

Light glanced at Harry Potter, who was still looking downcast, and suddenly asked, "Do you want to go and talk to Hagrid? Maybe he knows why Snape doesn't seem to like you."

Harry Potter, who had been looking dejected, lifted his head and said happily, "Sure! It's been a long time since I saw Hagrid. Let's go find him now."

"Hagrid?" Ron and Hermione looked confused.

"The giant who led us to Hogwarts when we just got off the train," Light reminded.

"Oh, it's him! Then I'll go too," Ron Weasley said excitedly, raising his hand.

"I won't go. He's your friend," Hermione Granger said hesitantly.

"Come on! Hagrid is really nice. And Hagrid will be very happy to see Harry Potter has made so many friends," Light persuaded with a smile.

"Yeah! Come on!" Harry Potter chimed in.

Persuaded by Light, Hermione also hesitantly and a bit coyly went with them to find Hagrid.

"How strange. I helped form the Golden Trio. Why didn't I get any Mileage Points? Are they not qualified? It's so strange," Light thought to himself, looking at the three people beside him.

"Hagrid, we've come to play with you," Harry Potter shouted while knocking on the door in front of a stone house with an oval roof.

It didn't take long before the door of the stone house opened. A huge figure walked out of the house with a big dog.

"Harry Potter, Light, you're here! Come in quickly," Hagrid greeted warmly, calming the big dog that was a bit restless seeing strangers.

Light followed Hagrid into the house. The house had only one room. The room was a bit shabby and didn't have much decoration, just like a winter hunter's solitary dwelling.

"Just sit down anywhere. Make yourselves at home," Hagrid motioned for everyone to sit down and then brought a plate of rock cakes to the table.

"Hagrid, let me introduce. This is Ron Weasley, and this is Hermione Granger," Harry Potter started the introduction after Hagrid also sat down.

After everyone got to know each other, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley started chatting with Hagrid about Severus Snape. Then they asked Hagrid why Snape deliberately made things difficult for Harry Potter.

Hermione Granger pretended not to care but also perked up her ears to listen.

"Snape? … He used to be a Death Eater," Hagrid said after some hesitation in his rough voice.

"Death Eater?" Harry Potter looked puzzled, while Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were so shocked that they almost stood up.

"That explains it. But why didn't the Ministry of Magic arrest him?" the know-it-all Miss with an encyclopedic knowledge asked curiously.

"I'm not too sure. It seems that Albus Dumbledore mediated," Hagrid said vaguely.

"Light, what are Death Eaters?" Harry Potter quietly nudged Light and asked doubtfully.

"They are the minions of the Dark Lord. They've done many bad things following the Dark Lord's orders," Hermione Granger answered before Light could say anything.

"Then why did Hogwarts recruit such a dangerous person as a professor? This is too dangerous," Ron Weasley said with great concern.

"It's okay. With Albus Dumbledore here. And Snape isn't a bad person. It's just that his goodness isn't obvious," Light defended Snape.

Harry Potter touched his forehead: "The Dark Lord?"

"That's right. With Albus Dumbledore here, nothing will happen. Don't worry, everything's gonna be okay!"

"Don't think about these unhappy things. Harry Potter, have some cakes quickly," Hagrid said, seeing that Harry Potter still seemed to want to ask something, and very bluntly changed the topic.

Hagrid greeted them warmly. The unsuspecting Golden Trio took a bite and almost had their teeth chipped by the rock cakes as hard as stones.

Light held the rock cake in his hand and greeted the big dog lying beside the fireplace. He stroked the dog while feeding it. And this dog had very good teeth. It gobbled up the cake in no time.

When the four of them were about to leave, Hagrid was extremely eager to give everyone some rock cakes. Although all four of them politely declined, Hagrid stuffed quite a number of rock cakes into their pockets.

When the four of them returned to the castle, they separated at the stairs. Hermione was going to The Library, while Harry Potter and Ron were going back to the dormitory. Light made up a random excuse. Actually, he was going to look for the Room of Requirement.
