"We're heading to the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor tonight. There's definitely something there," George whispered excitedly. "David, are you in?"

The three of them stood huddled in a dimly lit corridor, their voices barely above a whisper.

Fred and George had been restless ever since Dumbledore's cryptic announcement the previous evening. It was as if the old headmaster had deliberately planted a mystery to tempt curious students into investigating.

The way Dumbledore had phrased it was almost as enticing as an adventurer's challenge. It reminded George of an old tale: "Do you want my treasure? If you seek it, go find it! I have hidden all my riches there!"—the exact kind of words that would set Gryffindors on fire with excitement.

And now, they were determined to find out what was being hidden on the fourth floor.

David, however, had other plans. "No, my goal is the eighth floor tonight," he replied simply.

George frowned. "The eighth floor? You mean that weird empty wall across from the tapestry of the troll hitting Barnabas the Barmy?"

David's eyes flickered with surprise. He hadn't expected the twins to know about it.

"Yeah, that's the one," he admitted. "Wait—you know about it too?"

Fred and George exchanged knowing grins.

"Of course," Fred said. "That room has been our secret base for product research and development. But we didn't think any other students knew about it."

David chuckled. "I read about it in an old textbook filled with notes. The author mentioned a hidden room that appears when you walk past that wall three times while concentrating on what you need."

Fred and George nodded enthusiastically. "That's right! The Room of Requirement—it's perfect for any kind of mischief. We've used it plenty of times," George added.

"But if you know about it, why aren't you using it now?" David asked.

Fred shrugged. "We thought it'd be more fun to check out the fourth floor first. Dumbledore made it sound like an adventure, and we love adventures."

George grinned. "So, are you coming with us?"

David hesitated. He knew what was waiting for them—Fluffy, the giant three-headed dog. That creature was not something to be taken lightly.

"Dumbledore said it could be life-threatening," David reminded them.

Fred waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, come on! Do you really think Dumbledore would let anything truly dangerous roam free inside the castle? If it were that bad, he wouldn't have mentioned it at all."

"Yeah," George agreed. "We've been to the Forbidden Forest plenty of times, and we're still in one piece!"

David sighed. It was clear that trying to talk them out of it was useless.

"Fine," he said. "I'll come with you."

A Dangerous Discovery

The trio moved quickly and quietly through the castle, avoiding the occasional ghost or wandering professor. The Marauder's Map made it easy to track Filch's movements, and soon, they reached the forbidden corridor on the fourth floor.

Fred stopped in front of a large wooden door. "This is it," he whispered.

George pulled out his wand. "Alohomora!" he muttered.

The lock clicked, and the door creaked open.

David frowned. "Wait—let's be careful."

George smirked. "David, you're way too cautious. Where's your Gryffindor spirit?"

Ignoring him, David peered inside first. The room was dimly lit, and for a brief moment, everything seemed still. Then, he noticed something large sprawled across the floor.

Fred and George stepped inside—and immediately froze.

A massive three-headed dog lay curled up in the center of the room, its chest rising and falling with deep, thunderous breaths. Drool pooled on the floor beneath its heads, its sharp teeth glinting in the faint light.

David felt his stomach drop. So it really is here.

Fred gulped. "That thing is huge," he whispered. "I didn't think it'd be this big up close."

George's hands were shaking slightly. "Let's get out of here before it wakes up."

David's eyes darted around the room. There was no Philosopher's Stone yet, but the trapdoor beneath Fluffy's paws confirmed it—something valuable was being hidden here.

Fred whispered urgently, "I know that dog. It's Hagrid's!"

David turned to him, surprised. "You've seen it before?"

Fred nodded. "Back when it was just a puppy. Hagrid told us to keep it a secret, but I never thought he'd put it here."

A low growl rumbled through the room.

The three of them stiffened as one of Fluffy's heads twitched.

Fred paled. "We need to go. Now."

But it was too late.

The massive dog stirred, one head lifting groggily, its nostrils flaring as if catching their scent. Then another head lifted. And finally, the third.

Its six glowing eyes locked onto them.

Then, all three mouths opened wide—revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth.

"RUN!" George hissed.

The three of them turned and bolted toward the door.

Behind them, Fluffy let out a deafening roar, shaking the entire room.

David felt his heart hammering in his chest. If that thing caught them, they'd be torn apart.

They reached the door just as Fluffy lunged forward.

Fred grabbed the handle and yanked it open. The three of them tumbled through, slamming it shut behind them.

For a few tense seconds, they held their breath, listening.

On the other side of the door, Fluffy growled menacingly, but it didn't try to break through. Instead, the sound of heavy paws shuffling back to its resting spot echoed through the corridor.

Finally, there was silence.

The three of them slowly turned to face each other, their faces pale.

Fred was the first to break the silence. "That... was insane."

George let out a nervous laugh. "That thing is a monster! No wonder Dumbledore warned us."

David exhaled sharply. "And you two thought this would be a fun adventure."

Fred grinned sheepishly. "Okay, maybe slightly more dangerous than expected."

George shook his head. "No wonder it's locked up here. That thing could kill someone if they're not careful."

David nodded. "At least we know one thing for sure—something really important is being guarded under that trapdoor."

The three of them stood there in silence for a moment, processing what had just happened.

Then, Fred clapped his hands together. "Welp, I think we can call it a night. Let's get out of here before we run into anything else with three heads."

David rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help but smile.

As reckless as the twins were, there was never a dull moment with them.

Together, they hurried away from the fourth floor, already planning their next adventure.
