Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 87: A Hole in the Carriage (First Update)

The person who was driving in front jumped off as soon as Chu Mo's first punch hit the carriage, landing off to the side.

He was shocked, looking at the carriage as if it was a cage holding a rampaging dragon. He couldn't believe that Chu Mo had figured it out so quickly.

What terrified him the most was the burst of power exuding from Chu Mo's fist!

He clearly knew how sturdy the carriage was – It wasn't just any ordinary carriage made of refined steel.

It was crafted with a layer of top-quality Thousand-fold Refined Steel, infused with pieces of a meteorite from beyond heaven. The carriage was forged by a master blacksmith from the Ministry of Works in Great Xia.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a cage for the powerful!

Let alone a martial artist of Primordial Pass possessing the Dragon Elephant Power, neither a martial artist in the bone refining Iron Bone Realm or Iron Blood Realm could break it open!

Only a top-ranking expert in the realm of Stone and Metal could possibly damage it. He, a warrior of Primordial Pass, had once tried. Throwing his hardest punch, he was only met with the outcome of broken bones and severed muscles!

Chu Mo was at best a Primordial Pass martial artist, so how was his punch so powerful? Although it had not broken open the carriage yet, the thunderous punch was far beyond the capabilities of a peer martial artist. It chilled the warrior of Primordial Pass to the bone.

This man, in his thirties, had reached such a state. In Great Xia, one might consider him a prodigy. However, at this moment, he appeared pale and utterly rattled.

Because the ambush... was outside the city!

And they were still at least twenty to thirty miles away from the city outskirts!

The knowledgeable experts in the ambush outside the city could not possibly know that the carriage had run into such a problem halfway through.

"What should I do now?" The martial artist of Primordial Pass turned pale as he watched the now quiet carriage, his mind filled with intense urgency.

"Let me out!" Chu Mo's roar was heard from the carriage.

That shout helped the martial artist of Primordial Pass regain a bit of composure. He thought to himself: Fortunately... this terrifying youth is ultimately trapped inside!

"I should ask for help!" The thought flashed through the Primordial Pass martial artist's mind. Subsequently, his face calmed down, he took out a signal arrow from his body, and shot it directly towards the city's direction.

Whoosh!

The signal arrow shot up into the sky and exploded into a harsh, piercing sound.

This was an isolated street leading to the outskirts of the city. Despite it being the end of the year and the street not being busy, there were still quite a few pedestrians. When the carriage tipped over, everyone scattered in fear, leaving horrified faces staring in this direction.

"I have to wait here. Otherwise, if he shouts anything and people hear it, it will surely cause a huge uproar!" The Primordial Pass warrior thought, then looked icily at the distant crowd, coldly saying: "The government is on official business, get out of the way immediately or be killed on the spot!"

With that, he threw a punch at the nearby road.

Boom!

The cobblestone-paved road was immediately blasted into a large pit, the stone slabs shattered, and fragments flew everywhere.

The onlookers screamed in terror and scattered, not daring to stay and watch.

The sky was beginning to darken, and virtually no one else could be seen on this isolated path.

"Fortunately... no major chaos occurred." The martial artist of the Primordial Pass finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Is that so?" A voice came from behind him, icy cold, and full of rage.

"Ah!" The martial artist of Primordial Pass let out a short cry of surprise, then… a cold knife was held against his throat: "How...how did you get out? Even a strongman in the Iron Blood Realm of Thousand Men Slaughter can't get out...how did you get out?"

Because he recognized this cold voice as the voice of Chu Mo, who was trapped in the carriage!

"Who sent you?" The flames of anger burned in Chu Mo's eyes. He was truly enraged.

With an official guard from the palace badge, and driving this seemingly indestructible carriage... specifically to see him, it was hard to believe there was no big figure backing this man.

"Young Master Chu...Chu…Chu...This is a misunderstanding!" The martial artist of Primordial Pass, swallowing and stammering, pale as a ghost, answered: "It really is a misunderstanding... This carriage... was for your safety..."

"I'll ask you one last time, who sent you?" Chu Mo questioned coldly, enunciating each word distinctly.

"It...it's from the palace…" The martial artist from the Primordial Pass could distinctly feel the icy chill and sharpness of the knife against his throat. His heart was completely palpable in fright as he trembled in response, "You've really misunderstood!"

"Don't want to tell me? What use are you alive then? Die!" Chu Mo slightly exerted force on his wrist. The power of the Dragon Elephant was so potent, the Heaven Slaying blade effortlessly cut into the neck of the martial artist from the Primordial Pass.

Bloody red... Blood started flowing out in an instant!

"Ah... don't kill me... don't kill me!" The martial artist from the Primordial Pass felt a sharp pain in his neck and was instantly terrified out of his wits. He yelled out loud, "I'll say... I'll say everything, Zhao Yi sent me!"

Chu Mo's hand paused for a moment. "You dare to deceive me? What grudge does he have against me that he would want to harm me?"

"It really was him. I'm just following orders, Young Master Chu... really, it was him who sent me!" The martial artist from the Primordial Pass was near madness with fear. He could feel the icy blade on his neck go in a little deeper. As a martial artist from the Primordial Pass, he knew well, another little push of the blade...and the largest artery in his neck would burst! Even if the heavens tried to save him then, they wouldn't be able to.

"The Zhao Yi you spoke of, is it the Ministry of Works assistant minister, Zhao Yi?" Chu Mo asked in an icy tone.

"It's him... It's really him…" The martial artist from the Primordial Pass was almost firm in his oath.

"Heh heh, fine, very well, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Works, Zhao Yi..." Chu Mo menacingly laughed. He then used the flat end of the Heaven Slaying blade to hit the martial artist from the Primordial Pass on the head, knocking him unconscious in an instant.

He then picked up this person and dashed towards the direction of the imperial palace.

Shortly after Chu Mo's departure, two figures used the cover of darkness to approach from the outskirts of the city. Seeing the overturned carriage on the path, they were both visibly shaken.

The two men cautiously approached the carriage and then listened carefully for quite some time before they were certain that there was no one inside.

Then, one of them touched the portion of the carriage that was on the ground and with a little force lifted it up.

Boom!

A loud noise echoed on the green stone road. The multi-thousand-pound carriage was lifted up. The sight of the hole on the side that was originally on the ground gave both men a chills.

A square hole had been created in the excellent quality steel made carriage that was enhanced with meteoric iron from beyond heaven!

Neat and tidy, just like a window in a carriage!

However, they both knew that the carriage...didn't have windows!

Looking down at the ground, there was also a large hole that could accommodate a person.

The implicated expressions in the men's faces were not good. One of them said: "That little thing definitely has an enchanted weapon of some kind in his hand!"

The other man added: "Definitely enchanted! Otherwise... impossible to destroy this carriage."

"Damn it... Let the little bugger run away. How cunning is he?" The man who spoke earlier looked to be in his forties with a rather ordinary face that would be hard to recognize in a crowd. At the moment his face was filled with coldness and anger.

The other man, also middle-aged, was lean and small in stature. His shining eyes embodied his laughter as he replied: "I said we should have intercepted him halfway. You all refused, insisting on taking him out of the city instead! Now what?"

The ordinary looking man contemplated for a moment and then announced: "We have nothing to do with this. Go back and await orders. We definitely can't kill him today. Did you see that even that stupid driver has disappeared?"

The smart and lean man replied: "Damn it, I was ticketing on finishing this and going home for a reunion dinner!"

"Stop complaining, let's go." The two figures left as quickly as they had come, soon disappearing into the night.

Leaving behind only a lonely carriage with a giant hole, standing alone in the dark.
